The UK’s second city is synonymous with urban decay and post-industrial malaise. This disease of the soul has even infected the city’s Kindred and the Camarilla is rotting from the top down, every powerful vampire in the domain mouldering in their own stagnant complacency.

Birmingham’s hallmark is its size, the mood of a city trapped between industry and commercial rejuvenation, and a firm split between expensive housing, wealth and low-income areas where crime is rife and the police turn a blind eye to offenses such as drug dealing, thefts, and assaults.

In the city of Birmingham, someone is killing people and taking their blood, which is
always a problem for vampires. If it is a human being, it might draw attention to the true predators of the night.

Thanks for looking at this page! I'm looking to run a game of VtM 5th edition for 3-5 players, using the Introductory Scenario "The Monsters", which will then expand into further stories - beginning with "Open Your Eyes" from the Trails of Ash and Bone sourcebook.

In regards to a Request to Join, I require a sample of your writing (this can be new or borrowed from another game you’re a part of). Once you’ve done that, you can let me know whether you’d like to take on one of the pre-generated characters, or to make your own.

If you’d like to make your own character, all I need at this point is the concept of the character. All characters (for the sake of the story) will have been an active Kindred in Birmingham since at least the 1990s. Don’t worry if you’re not British or have never visited the UK. Details can be vague and filled in collaboratively with the ST and other players. There’ll also be a wealth of information available in the threads relating to the Domain and the World of Darkness Birmingham.

You will start the game as part of a Coterie that has been together for over two decades – shared history, ambition and relationships are to be encouraged. Additionally, your Coterie will be bound together by a shared event that will be explored later in the game.

Once you’ve been accepted into the game, you’ll be able to make your character sheets, and I will be on hand to help explain anything you don’t quite understand – you’ll also be able to discuss your character with other players as you build your stories and backgrounds together.

So, to summarise - in order to join the game I need you to;

1. Please could you provide two character concepts in an elevator pitch format. We're talking two to three sentences regarding who your character is - why they're going to be interesting for other people to read about, along with the Clan you'd like to play.

2. Submit this in the initial RTJ. I will not accept character sheets at this stage. Please be willing to discuss character options as we will be creating characters that will mesh with the archetypes that are already on display.

3. Character creation will be collaborative to an extent, as we'll flesh out the character together and then connections within the group once you're accepted to the game.
