Flying Swordsmen: Wuxia in a fantasy "Three Kingdoms" era
It is a time of turmoil and strife. In the great Empire of Zhongyang Dalu, the fragile stability is under threat. Still in the throes of a series of crippling rebellions, the ailing Chen dynasty struggles to hold the Empire together.
Now, old Emperor Ping has died, and his eldest son, the young An Xiao, has taken the throne. But all is far from well in the capital.
In the provinces, the warlords rule their domains like kings, for the central government is weak and they have grown powerful from all the fighting against rebels, each commanding a force of seasoned men that answers to nobody but their lord, and the Emperor. But the Emperor is held in thrall by his mother, the Empress Dowager Qiang, and his uncle, General-in-Chief Qiang Miao.
Meanwhile, the Emperor's warlord retainers struggle to find a balance between their loyalty to the Empire and the threat posed by the joint regency. Some huddle in the capital, unwilling to act publicly lest they incur accusations of treason.
These men need strong warriors, smart followers, and subtle agents to aid them through their hesitancy. The capital is awash with potential for a band of clever unknowns to rise in power and fame, for the Empire cries out for salvation, and the land needs heroes!
Hi all. We're looking for 2-4 players to join us in an all-new game of the wuxia-style Flying Swordsmen RPG. The game will be set in a fantasy analogue of the very beginning of the Three Kingdoms period of medieval Chinese history, partly inspired by the style of the Dynasty Warriors video games by Omega Force/Koei. The focus will be on political intrigue, military action, and high adventure.
If this sounds like you, please head on over and drop us an RTJ.
Thanks for reading. See you on the battlefield!
