The Waterdeep Conspiracy

Anamanué Laeral Silverhand was born in the Year of the Cowl (765 DR), the fifth of seven daughters of the goddess Mystra. Each of the Seven Sisters is a powerful and ageless beauty with a penchant for arcane magic.

Long ago, Laeral ruled a kingdom called Stornanter and held the title of Witch-Queen of the North. After that, she led a band of adventurers called the Nine. She met and married Khelben Arunsun, who would later become the Blackstaff, the Lord Mage of Waterdeep. After Khelben died, Laeral retired from public life. She resurfaced after the Spellplague and the Sundering, weakened by Mystra’s death, rebirth, and withdrawal from the world.

Laeral Silverhand has returned to Waterdeep. Long thought dead, she reemerged only recently, and swiftly rallied the Masked Lords to support her supplanting of Dagult Neverember as Open Lord of Waterdeep. Very few remember Lady Laeral from her previous time in the city, but those elves who have been living in there for the last century claim she is more reserved than she once was. The new Open Lord doesn't speak of her family - any mention of her children, her late husband (the fabled Blackstaff, Khelben Arunsun), or any of her famed sisters is cause for her to cut short whatever conversation may be in progress at the time. Her relationship with the current Blackstaff, Vajra Safahr, is cordial, but the two are seldom seen in one-on-one conversation, and most think that Lady Laeral has little to learn from a mage who isn't nearly her equal.

The Masked have always been a source of contention and suspicion, especially in Waterdhavian circles.  While no one has ever been officially identified as one of these lords, many believe the society needs to be ferreted out and replaced with a more transparent government.  Whispers that the current nobility is subtly rallying against the supplantation of Neverember and civil war may be on the horizon.

This game began with the Origins Prologue which has reached its conclusion and is wrapping up.  Looking for 2 to 4 new players to enter into the main story plot.

The Waterdeep Conspiracy

RTJ is still open.

Please note that I have received a lot of submissions involving either nobles or sorcerers and will likely not accept concepts involving either of those for the sake of variety (unless your concept is unique/pops).  This does not affect similar classes/backgrounds (i.e., wizards/warlocks or knights/magisters)
