In light of the fallout of the recent quantum physics experiments conducted at ██████ ███, NM, it has come to the attention of the President that a new organization should be founded to further look into the nature of the ████ in the ██████ of ███████ More specifically, the intent of the formation of this agency is to further explore:

  1. What caused the ████?
  2. How do we █████ them?
  3. Will more open up?

Emergency funds have been created and transferred to ███████ NM, ███ ████ ████ NY, █████████ TN, and ███████ CO for use in experimental programs involving the materials gathered from ███ ████████ at the site of ██████ ███ in NM.

INCIDENTS REGARDING █████████ FROM ███ ███ █████

The initial reports at █████ ███ suggested that the child was able to contain the breach in the ██████ ██ ███████ on that day back in '05. further examination of the subject suggests that the subject has began to have feelings of guilt surrounding the incident in that he believes he ███████████ a bunch of innocent █████████ rather than the ████████ we know them to be.

Furthermore, some towns are starting to have increasing numbers of events around graveyards where the dead were buried in the last year since the ████████. The need for additional teams is quickly outstripping the resources devoted to the ███████ Investigation and Suppression Teams.

I'm beginning to not give a ████ about redacting all this ████. We all know they're a bunch of monsters. Literally everyone knows. You know that in Chicago the train station goes straight to ███████ ████? Literally the place where people who've somehow clung to Christianity in light of all the magic think that ███████ SATAN lives!

The bull████ stories we feed them are getting pretty thin. And did you hear about the complaints at Mall of America? You better get some serious spin doctors out there to try to make sense of what's going on, and maybe, just maybe not throw the public into a ███████ panic.

This game is Powered by the Apocalypse, and is functionally a JRPG about the members of an organization called MIST (Monster Investigation and Suppression Team) who are sent from the Chicago office to Bloomington Minnesota to investigate rumors of weird noises and unusually hot areas in the walls. Things do not go as planned and a large explosion ends up killing several civilians. MIST can't contain the rumor mill on this one due to the increased prevalence of social media and a video of the incident circulates featuring a very famous flaming creature from the Final Fantasy franchise. Within the next few days, fossil fuel based transportation and the internet leaves the MIST team members stranded. Now they must try to find a way to get back into communication with MIST in Chicago to find out how to proceed in a world where modern day technologies are rapidly failing and it's uncertain whether they will be replaced by new ones.

You know what would be a great Christmas present? If I got a full group by New Years. Got two accepted players and another in the works. Currently nobody one person has explicitly stated they work for MIST yet. <snip> At present we have a potential healer, an undecided goblin, and a potential jack of all trades. And the totally human for sure not shifty government agent.

Characters are still in the process of being created, but the first post is up (locked for the time being). We have a couple MIST operatives, one definite civilian and one unaffiliated off worlder. JRPGs tend to have between 3 and 10 main characters so more are still welcome.
