The blonde man watches Prizzard turn invisible, staring at the last spot he was seen, eyes unmoving. You're not sure if he sees you but it sure feels like he does! His face is a blank, uncaring mask and after a moment he gives a shrug. Well, it's your funeral. I'll see you again when they kill you the rest of the way. With that he gives a mocking salute and turns on his heels, throwing the plum into the air and catching it as though he doesn't give a single fig about any of it. As soon as he's gone the motherwitch gives a sigh of relief. Well that was lucky! If he were more ambitious...if he'd seen anyone else, well, he would have taken it a lot more seriously. Let's get out of here before he changes his mind. My grandson can be trouble when he wants to be she shakes her head.

You continue down the halls in a hurry after that. It's too easy to get caught and according to the old woman, that would be disastrous. You're about to turn a corner though when Emeric stops you, saying he hears guards approaching. You turn around and duck into a storage room until they pass. You know the safest way to get to the stone court don't you? Emeric asks the witch in a low voice. You want to go through the trials don't you? she sighs. Well she made it didn't she? he gestures towards Tanzy. Ahem! I had a little something to do with that I'll have you know! the frog puffs out his chest proudly. I don't know. It's risky... the motherwitch frowns, ignoring Perkins. It's a test of character. You would have to be strong enough to hold on until I could gather you all up again. You'd be separated but...it's the safest way believe it or not. she sighs. Do you think you lot are up to trials of will? Our only other option is to fight an entire castle off and hope we can get to the stone court in time. As Tanzy listens to all this, she can't help but feels she's just made one giant circle. The trials again!?

Tanzy clears her throat,“Honestly I skipped most of the trials. They sounded terrible and there was a creepy little girl... I met Perkins though and once he found out I knew Raina he showed me a shortcut.” She flashes a sheepish grin.“Fat lot of good it did us,” she adds frowning.

Tanzy is not looking forward to going through the trials and the more it’s discussed the more uncomfortable she gets especially since she’s confident she can make it through undetected if she were alone. Not one to make waves she of course goes along with the general consensus though the idea of being separated and alone again clearly has her nervous.

"I wish I knew you all better. Getting split up here makes me paranoid. But that's probably better, considering our resources here." Prizzard forgot to dismiss his spell and has likely approached from behind Tanzy or Raknesh. Their senses generally keep them from being surprised at his approach. And indeed, Prizzard has been burning through his mental stamina heavily today already and bears plenty of minor wounds, matching the rest of this crew.

Bryon stepped up beside Tanzy and put an arm around her. "Whatever you decide, I'm beside you."

Usually, Raknesh would not have flinched at Prizzard sudden voice, but he too was on edge for some time now.  And he lacked Rocky's help. Missing a shard of his own mind proved to be very strenuous in this place.

So he did jump a bit.

"A creepy little girl?  Another one?"

He sighed in both exasperation and worry.

"I suppose we don't have much choice...  I am trained to build a good resistance and keep my composure, so I hope it will help for those trials...

And we know and trust each other enough to risk getting here to save one of us.  I believe it speaks enough in its own.  And about our allies... Well they are putting quite a bit in the balance too.  So we can only have faith in that."

“I’m sorry, I don’t want to be a naysayer and I’m not saying we can’t got back to the trials... but do you realize what we did to even get here?!” Tanzy’svoice is shrill as she struggles to keep it to a whisper. “We crawled through human waste,” She gestures with her blood stained hands, “not feces and urine but blood and guts and bodies and appendages! I will never unsee or untaste what we sludged through. And now after all that, we’re giving up so we can go all the way back to the stupid trials?!” She stamped her foot for emphasis and glared at the Mother witch. “Why in God’s name did you not suggest the trials in the first place?!”

It’s a surprising outburst from a usually amiable Tanzy but she’s been through a lot the past few days so it’s not surprising the stress is taking a toll on her usually positive mood.

The witch looks at Tanzy with amusement. You have to get into the palace to do the trials my dear. They are held within these walls. You could not have avoided the blood and muck unless you'd wanted to give up on saving Raina. Does that make you feel better?

Meanwhile Perkins chirps up, still in his froggy form aboard Tanzy's shoulder. Listen, I can get you all out of the trials just as I did Tanzy before. You'll have to be strong though. You see, when a person is put in the trials, they are challenged in all sorts of ways. Sometimes it's emotionally, sometimes ethically, you know how it goes. It's going to feel very real. You may even forget about what we're doing, it depends on the person. But if you can try to shake it off, if you can try to be strong and hold out until I get to you, I should be able to get you out of them and we can take the back exit just as Tanzy and I did before. he turns to Tanzy then, patting her cheek. Don't worry Tanz! You did it once before, you can do it again!
