A service never recognized.
You see the soldiers around you

Brave honorable men ready to lay down their lives for Mother Russia.

it is almost a pity, then, that you must make certain that their sacrafices, their comittment, all amounts to nothing.

They have accepted you as one of them, and yet it is your solemn duty to betray them.

Currently they Seem to be planning to protect some town currently...  from the advancing army, your the one thing that can make this happen with a mininum of fuss.

Re: A service never recognized.
God he hated this medieval country , its fucking winters, its stinking people, brave noble determined, but still stinking , why oh why did he have to be here , surely the damned north men would have more fun , least they smelled like they belonged here , ah well he would smile and comrade this or that always the best friend and trusted ally .... god the looks on these simpleton's faces when he leads the wolves through the cellar door , now if he could only find the cellar

Re: A service never recognized.
after a bit, you get the impression a wealthy middle aged land owner might be willing to cooperate in seeing the upcoming conflict end before it starts... if approached correctly... but how to do that.

Re: A service never recognized.
He would have routed out the closest thing to a patsy so far and one evening he would slip away from his comrades... the fools ... to find this mans residence before he reached him however he would be careful to change his appearance from his normal Russian soldier to that of a well dressed man in black of ... indistinct ethnic background  and knocking on the land owners door he would wait to speak to the man

The doors opened by his maid, you find the house is quite pretty, but even the wealthy are hard hit these days, you see hints and signs hither and thither that he once lived much larger then he does.

Smiling broadly as he takes a seat and leans back* Well my good friend I think the question should be how can I help you ...the conflict that is coming is going to be bloody , and costly , both in lives and in property , especially if a siege begins.

Re: A service never recognized.
The Man smiles a small wolfish smile as he cocks his head* By you offering to aid some friends of mine , nothing too big, simply letting them through your grounds and looking the other way , or perhaps letting them rest here for a while, you will be paid handsomely for your inconvenience of course, but more importantly you will be saving the lives of many, none of us wants a major battle , too many innocent lives in the crossfire , your help will make sure that there wont be any crossfire to be caught in

He smiles wider as he extends his hand* Then it is a deal yes? you aid my friends with either ignorance or respite and hospitality as the case may be needed, and in return I promise you compensation and peace of mind that you have helped spare hundreds of lives from the torment of a long drawn out siege and battle.
