Re: Talking to the Coach
Mia stood on the sidelines, a short distance away from the bunch of players and other team personnel. A microphone was gripped in one hand and an earpiece was nestled into one of her ears, providing her a feed to her on-site producer, who was sitting in the production van parked in the team parking lot. She adjusted the ear piece and squinted into the sun, trying to pay attention to the action on the field while preparing questions in her mind at the same time. She was going to try and grab Coach Sims as he ran off the field for half-time and ask some quick questions. Mia wanted to make sure they weren't fluff questions, but at the same time, she couldn't expect Coach Sims to provide long answers as he made his way into the lockeroom.
Randy, her cameraman, stood besides her, his camera turned off, but still resting on his shoulder. Randy, as usual, was sweating, despite the day not being notably warm. Being about 50 pounds overweight and horribly out of shape, Randy found the simple act of standing a workout in itself sometimes. Mia glanced briefly over at him and hoped he wouldn't have a heart attack following her onto the field at halftime to talk to Coach Sims. Here she was four months pregnant and she still could run circles around Randy.
As if to remind her of her pregnancy, she felt a small kick in her belly. These had started about a week or so ago and were a constant reminder of the life she now carried inside of her. Mia placed one hand on the swell of her belly, which was now noticeably to anyone looking that she was pregnant. Even the designer suit she was wearing, as stylish and well-tailored as it was, couldn't hide this fact.
