Hey, the best humor hits close to home...;)

And I'm already trying to scheme of ways to turn the shield projector into some kind of massive EMP and fry the systems on everything up there.  However, I, the player, am a much better technician than I, the character...and neither one of us has any brilliant ideas yet....

As a Wookiee, Juragga recommends the unsubtle application of high explosives. ;)

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread
Well, that's the most likely option.  I mean, we ARE talking about the guy that was running around the mine site in snowtrooper armor, throwing grenades and setting off charges in a pretty haphazard fashion...*grin*

But the player wants some really elegant, cinematic option (which is probably far beyond the character's capabilities, in all practical assessment of the situation.)  Still...my experience in general, and specifically in Star Wars games, is any time I have a carefully laid-out plan, even if I don't tell it to anybody, everything happens to make it go off the rails and fall apart.  Flying by the seat of my pants?  Wow...I achieve some really incredible results!  *BIG grin*

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread
It's pretty much axiomatic that the more complex and wonderous a plan, the more chances for it to fail.  Or to put it another way (in the words of a famous strategist), 'No plan survives contact with the enemy.'  ^_^

On the other hand, we want to do a little more than just blow up a shield generator, here.  We need to get an idea of what that thing is (Superlaser!) and figure out...

A - how to sabotage the whole thing; or
B - how to get out of here and alert command, so they can do an Endor-Run on it (shield will have to come down first to boot).

My guess is that it's a death star.

But, yes.  What Shard said. ;)

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the higher ups would get our report and say, "Something that big can only be another Death Star."  But the 'turn the shield projector into an EMP projector' notion was aimed at the 'sabotage the whole thing' objective (because I think trying to blow it up, ourselves, might be just a wee bit over-ambitious...*grin*)

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread
Think you're in blacks.  As I recall, only Jalt and I are in armor (I remember thinking, back when we were initially planning this, that I wanted to make sure Shard had as much back-up as possible, because she's a VERY visible target if her cover gets questioned or outright blown.  Jalt and I can blend into the ranks of stormtroopers and disappear, and I figure that we also would have extremely limited access to computers and stuff like that, where a minor officer under a visiting VIP would likely draw scarcely a second look.  So it wouldn't make sense to have three stormtroopers running around and Shard left 'alone' with a Wookiee--sure, nobody would question her, but it's very out-of-form for an Imperial dignitary to not have some kind of subordinate officer around to do whatever it is they have them do.)

Heh. Excellent. I smiled a lot during both posts. With Haarmon trying to hard to behave it's been hard to let his inner doofus out to play. So I'm trying to capture it with his thought processes.

Happy I'm entertaining folks. :)

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread
I've said it before, but I'll say it again...I really love the way this group fits together.  Everyone's got a very distinctive style, and they're all fun to read...but nobody is so insistent on the spotlight that anyone else is suffering from lack of attention.  Group chemistry has always been, I personally feel, the key to a successful game, and I feel like this group has some really solid chemistry.

Just felt it should be mentioned.  Thanks, guys.

I'm sorry, I'd be commenting on our awesome different styles (with which I totally agree), or Haarmon's best Rhijans impressions (which was hilarious), but my mind is jammed on Juragga's chewing tobacco.

O_o

I'll post today!  :D  I'm swamped, but I'll find time.

A heads up - I'm currently suffering from the flu and caring for someone suffering with pneumonia.

Hopefully things will start getting better tomorrow with Antibiotics, which will give me some time to rest and actually post, but today I'm going to be away from the keyboard, I expect.
