I would call it 'concealment'.

Things people can shoot through or that fall from the sky in flames when shot up aren't my definition of 'cover'.

Also, it *is* rather annoying when the thing you're trying to use for cover keeps dodging enemy fire.

It looks exactly like this: The flaming heap of wreckage truck.

But yours doesn't have a gun.

Also, it has a maximum altitude of about 3m, so it's not exactly going to "fall from the sky in flames when shot up".  It's barely going to fall from anywhere.  :)

I dunno...'falling from 3m' bears a lot more 'impact' when we're doing 160 km/h.

The operative keyword that I put into bold is what concerns me...  ;)

Hey, Mark, what gunner's seat are you in? Our little transport has no gun. In case you missed the above regarding that minor point.  :)

Nope, that was the other transport.  We're travelling incognito as it were, in the unarmed but spacier one.  :)

Here's a chance for all you shooty-types to demonstrate your skills!

.....

Everyone didn't go macho and pick 'heavy blaster pistols' with big damage and lousy range, did they?  O_o

Wheely did.  There's a blaster cannon hidden in there, somewhere.

Or did I dream that?  Hmm.

...well, that's ONE guy who's waiting until they come close to pick off the survivors to get his shots in.

^_^

Any other takers?

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread

Blaster? I should have one of those? Being something of a primitive, Jihon Mogg doesn't have any skill with them, nor enough money to afford one. Its a skill he intended to learn later ... and then arm himself with four of them for the simple intimidation factor of it.

But for now, I'm merely a good wrestler and a poor flier.

So ... tactics? Should I try to get close to one and pull him off his swoop?

What is a swoop, btw? I'm picturing some sort of hover-cycle kind of thing? Like in the Forest of Endor in Jedi?

Any thoughts?

That's the fellow, yes.

Hence me staying off them due to very good odds at me splatting against something harder than me.  ;)

Mogg, you can have my holdout blaster.

Seriously, you're probably a better shot with it than I.  :)

Re: A wretched hive of scum and villainy - OOC thread

What is a swoop?  Well... the things used on Endor in RotJ were speeder bikes.

Take a speeder bike, tweak the engine (or just fit a more powerful one) then strip off everything that adds unnecessary weight, such as safety features, fancy enhanced controls, cargo capacity, etc...

That's a swoop.  It handles like a unicycle, being ridden by an elephant, in a hurricane, and moves like a very fast thing which has just had a nasty scare...

And, no, only one vehicle is fitted with any weapons, and that is Reldan Jalt's swoop.

Of course, all the innards are about to fall out of that one, producing a long trail of swoop components (and a longer bloody smear) on the road.

Not that I can use it very well, but is it okay if I have Shard's holdout pistol? She could have given it to me before departing, since it would make sense.

Either way, I'll try to get in a post tonight.

Damn, I have a week of dress rehearsals and lose my internet access for a few days and everything goes to hell..*grin*  Haven't actually read the IC thread yet to see what, exactly, has gone awry, but I am in fact one of those 'packing a heavy blaster pistol' types (I even have a license for it, which, presumably, is still valid--at least until the Empire discovers that I'm no longer working legitimately as a bounty hunter...)

Seems like we have a bunch of melee-focused folks on our side. I also went that way with Jihon because of the multiple limbs thing.

I will try to post this evening.

Look at it this way...we're learning where we need to spend CP as we go!  *chuckle*

Shisskurr:
"If you'd prefer," Shiss countered, glancing at Shard, ducking his head a bit as a bright bolt spattered against the rear of the transport. "I could throw myself at them."

You're asking the Jedi if you can be thrown at the opposition?

Jedi...ugh.  I take umbrage at that label.

I left that organization of vicious, repressive elitists behind ages ago.
