Hey everyone! What with one thing and another I forgot to tell you guys that we got a doggo I mean a pupper I mean a juveline canine being.

He's a rescue dog from the Dominican. His name is Banjo and he's such an amazing little guy. Attentive and gentle and smart. He's settling into all his new routines very well. Last night we went for our first long (2km) walk where he felt comfortable and not-nervous the whole way.

Awwwwww...I so miss having a dog.  My lease has a very narrow allowance for acceptable pet types, and 'dog' is sadly not on the list (although I'm not sure 'bird' was, either, and I kept a rescued pigeon in here for most of a decade...but I don't think thry'd be as lenient about a dog...)  But Banjo looks like a real charmer!

Cute little guy.  :)  How old is he?

He's adorbs!

Such a baby! He's so good, though. In just two weeks he's come such a long way. I had a great moment a couple of days ago. I was in the elevator and a guy came on with a young puppy who was jerking to and fro on the leash, being excited and puppy-ish. I picked Banjo up because he gets anxious around other dogs and sometimes barks.

But when we both went outside the building Banjo calmly went to his usual place in an orderly fashion, and did his business super quick. Ever since we got him we've been saying "BUSINESS" in a loud tone whenever he squats, so he associates the word with the act (both acts, actually), so now when he pees, and indicates he'd like to go inside, you can say BUSINESS and he'll circle once or twice and drop for his #2.

Anyway, we did that, and walked past the guy wrestling with his energetic puppy and he looked up and said, "He went already?" and I looked up, not at all smug, "He goes on command."

Hehe.

My dog is the best dog.

He's a good boy.  :) *thumbs up*

Wow...that's some impressive training.  And impressive smarts on the doggie!  :D

Two things... I always wondered what the "Best Boy" did in all those movie credits.  And I will never think of the Harvard Business School the same way again.

Apologies for the lack of posting.  It's been way too warm here, with lots to do at work, so I've been dead tired.  Throw a couple of power outages into the mix on days when I did actually feel up to posting stuff, and it hasn't been a productive couple of weeks.
