It's probably good that you don't remember the second series, Rhijans.  Zelazny himself commented that he really didn't get into his central character for the second series, and it shows.  He had planned a 3rd series, probably back to Corwin as the main character, but...sadly, he passed away before writing it.

What I find funny about this whole thing we got going on here, is that The Force almost certainly had this little subplot all planned out from way before. And then we, the players, decide to start dangling bait for the spy. He must have tented his fingers in maniacal glee when he realized that he could slip HIS plot into OUR plot and make it look like the one was the other.

Definitely a man with more patience with his facial hair than I have.  Mine starts getting past 3/4" or so and it becomes unruly and I end up trimming it back.
