I'm just happy to hear that everyone here is still okay.  I know someone who lost a beloved aunt to Covid.  :(

Found out one of the guys I went to high school with (one of my best friends, at the time) has just tested positive for it.  So far, he's only showing mild symptoms, and I hope that's as bad as it ever gets...but it's getting personal...

We've been under huge stress, sorry.  LTC Homes are becoming horrifying hotspots in Ontario, and one in Ottawa is one of the worst.  Coincidentally, it's where my Mother In Law is kept.  We're estranged from her, with good reason, but at the same time hearing that she's in a place under lockdown where nearly half of all of the staff and residents were suddenly tested as having Covid last weekend has made a lot of old feelings resurface.  So we're struggling with stress.

As of a couple of days ago, he was only experiencing mild symptoms.  Found out that a woman I went to high school with had been exposed but was an asymptomatic carrier...she was the only one in her family who didn't get sick.  I've looked at a couple of online surveys about it, and half the symptoms are things I've lived with since way before Covid broke out, so I kinda rely on taking my temperature to determine whether my congestion and runny nose (and accompanying occasional cough) are just my sinuses going into allergy overdrive yet again or if I'm actually sick with something.  Shortness of breath and joint pain don't help a whole lot, either...I'm in my fifties, with a family history of arthritis, and have had pain in my knees, off and on, since I was in high school.  Initially, I was agitated about "Is it Covid or is it allergies?!"...I've kind of settled into a headspace of "Well, it's no worse than normal, so we're good."

That's...rough.  I'm sorry.  Talk about a constant stressor.  :( I have some allergies, but that's all.

Turns out the LTC home where my Min law happens to be is the worst outbreak in Eastern Ontario.  And continuing to worsen.  :(

We're actually supposed to start rehearsals for our show (we're only doing one this year, because of this...the magic show that we're doing has a cast of three people...the crew is larger than the cast...if you include the house managers, the crew will be almost triple the cast.)  I'm thinking it might be smart to get tested before then, just to be sure.  If I can find a place around here that does antibody testing, that would be the best thing...learning that I already had it and just didn't notice would be a dream come true (as long as I didn't give it to anybody!)

One thing to remember - just because you've had it, doesn't mean you're immune.  Please, please be careful; we still don't know if 'had it = immunity' with Covid.

Yeah...trying hard to avoid making any assumptions.  Although I have yet to hear of anyone getting reinfected with it...of course, at this point, for many people, it would be hard to say whether it was a fresh case or a relapse...I understand that, for those whose illness runs the severe route, it can take months to fully recover from the effects.

Indeed.  This is NOT a 'fllu'.  There are all kinds of terrible things that can go wrong when one has it.

There have been some instances of people who SUPPOSEDLY had the illness contracting it 'again'.  Bad tests?  Dormancy period?  Or actual?  Has happened in S. Korea, China, and on the US Aircraft Carrier.

I'm hopeful they are anomalies, but.

Sorry for the irregular and sporadic posting lately.  I may have had a bug of some sort (not you, corona, put your hand down), and have been just generally exhausted for several weeks.  Trying to get back into the swing of things.

No worries on my part.  We're going into dress rehearsal for our show at the park(which may be opening on Saturday, but will definitely be open Monday), so my days have been pretty busy this week.

No worries here either. I'm in the unusual position of starting two new games simultaneously, and I'm (insanely) considering starting a third at the same time.

So I'm good with whatever the posting rate is at the moment.

I've been absent for a week, at least.  :(  Sorry about that.

1.  My beloved Uncle passed on two weeks ago.  Not from Corona, but Parkinson's and pneumonia.
2.  My Mother in Law, with whom we had a difficult (read, abusive) relationship, passed on last Friday from Coronavirus.

Emotions have been fraught.

I'm going to try to get back into some kind of schedule.

Love and support, Shard! Losing anyone is hard. And a tumultuous relationship can be as hard to move past as a loving one.

I'm very sorry on both counts. Take care of yourself.

Man, that sounds like a whole bucket of emotions to sort through.  I don't have any sage or pithy advice that will help much...but I'm here if you need to sound off to anyone.  I haven't been through those kinds of losses, but I've had loved ones pass so I can sympathize on some level.

We're managing.   Sorting through the 'law' side of things makes it difficult to process the emotional side.  It's coming.  Still hard, though.

It's a complicated process.  Take your time, and don't be surprised if you think you've dealt with it and then some little thing happens that makes it fresh all over again.
