Re: Die Roll, Card and Chip Draws/Awards

Posse,

Kind of an interesting situation here.

Because they both drew a Red Joker, Peter and the Automaton standing over Dakota go first. They act simultaneously. I drew a Red chip for Peter but as he's maxed for chips he gets 2 Bounty instead.

Then the rest of the Posse goes. Then the Black Hats, the Automaton that's facing you, then the Drone go.

So let's have Peter post his actions along with the 1 Automaton, then everyone else acts before the rest of the bad guys act.

Honestly, aim for the head and blow a Blue chip (at least) to make the TN of 12! You have 3 blue chips. Plus a Legend Chip, for Pete's sake!

With range, your TN to hit the head is 13. I rolled a 6 for your Blue chip. Added to your roll of 9 that's 15: a hit! Roll 6d6 for damage.

Agreed. On the plus side, 16 damage is good for 2 Wound levels (8 per level for an Automaton, as opposed to 6 per level for people).

13:07, Today: Smoker Nix rolled 8 using 4d10, keeping the highest dice only, rerolling max with rolls of 7,8,4,7. Shooting at automaton.

Hurl whatever chips necessary to get a hit (I have a handful of red & white ones according to the character sheet).

Re: Die Roll, Card and Chip Draws/Awards

In reply to Smoker Nix (msg # 767):

Base TN is 5, up to 9 because of the -4 for tear gas.

I'll assume he uses an Action to Draw a Bead (+2) for a result of 10, a hit. This will be a random location. If he wants to aim for the head (-6) that bumps up the TN to 15.

We can spend chips to make the harder shot. A White chip will add another d10 to the pool (therefore it only helps if you roll a 10 and then a 5). A Red chip will add straight up add another d10 to your already-rolled 8, but I draw a chip for the bad guys to use for attacks (or Dodging).

Re: Die Roll, Card and Chip Draws/Awards

Lol. I hear Rowan about the coffee. I should have waited to start rolling since I messed that up slightly.

So, 1st shot is a 7 to hit, which hits. Not sure if I roll location on a burst but I did just in case.

2nd shot hits with a 12 (not an 18 laugh) and location 9 which I could move to gizzards right?

09:52, Today: Peter Firecrow rolled 7 using 4d10, keeping the highest dice only, rerolling max with rolls of 3,7,2,3. Shooting at same Automaton (TN5).
09:52, Today: Peter Firecrow rolled 18 using 1d20, rerolling max with rolls of 18. Location shot #1.

09:53, Today: Peter Firecrow rolled 18 using 4d10, rerolling max with rolls of 4,(10+2)12,1,1. Shooting same automaton, action 2 (TN5).
09:53, Today: Peter Firecrow rolled 9 using 1d20, rerolling max with rolls of 9. Location shot #2, 1 raise if needed.

Actually, I think a raise means a 2nd shot hits on the 2nd burst, right? so I need to roll damage again?

Re: Die Roll, Card and Chip Draws/Awards

In reply to Peter Firecrow (msg # 775):

Ah, right! Let's see. you rolled a 12, base TN is (always) 5.

Range is 8m, so -1 (Range increment is 5yds for the autoshotgun firing autofire). He is not firing a continual burst on one action but 2 bursts on 2 different actions so recoil isn't a factor. So far so good.

The rules for shotguns (core book pg. 93) are a little wonky; all shotguns seem to get a +2 to hit but slugs get a -2 to hit due to "poor rifling". The way the rule is worded seems to cancel each other out (+2 for shotguns vs. -2 for slugs) but the through logic is these should not stack. However, I've shot slugs before and they are accurate at short distances. My decision is the -2 only applies to targets at over 25yds range.

In other words, you hit a third time! Roll for location. (If you really want to be a keener then there is a hit location table in the cheat sheets thread.) I'll say the rule of raises allowing you to adjust hit location do not apply for autofire attacks (as the raise already results in an additional hit and autofire is less controllable).

In reply to Peter Firecrow (msg # 777):

Earlier I incorrectly stated damage from Peter's shotgun was 4d6 in post #738 of this thread.

I corrected this in post #500 in the OOC thread to be 4d4. Sorry for the confusion! (This is because the Automaton has AV3.)

Ok attempting a sneak check (to move past the automaton), however I forgot to unclick reroll max lol. So I'm pretty sure it was just a 6, not a 14 (that'd be nice though).

23:51, Today: Dakota Jack Cardinal rolled 14 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of (6+6+2)14. Sneak!
