Re: vacation

In reply to Jason Sinclair (msg # 800):

Posse:

1) Combat map is updated. You must tell me where you're going! For example, you drove 2 vehicles into the orchard, but I never got a clear sense where they were going or the path they were taking which was, well, kinda confusing.

2) There is 1 guy in front of Jane (Smoker can see him) and 2 off to her left. I assume she fired about 20 rounds on the way in (2-3 bursts to each side).

3) You don't need to post a tac-bloc (that is, the little summary) for your combat post. That said, if you don't I'll have to try and figure out what you mean... which could be dodgy. For example, if you get several actions in a turn (which is likely!) make sure to take them or they are lost (except for 1 held action).

roadkill was following the way to the hostages on that path in the map. He did want to get the truck near the shack so the hostages could get into the truck quicker

That's the route I'd take in general. Getting closer would mean catching some branches and running over some bikes, neither of which is necessarily a big problem for an armoured rig.

That was the idea from way back. He was all about saving the hostages and letting Jason and Trejo deal with the big bad man. Another thing, i posted before that smoker was to cover Daphne on the ground and roadkill was staying in the truck shooting out windows until he needed to get out if Daphne needed shot gun help. The truck is all about its selfish plan from when we were back at the templars place

That's right, freakin' leather breeches!

You know, it's a crying shame that Roadkill can't actually see Jason at the moment due to the smoke and the intervening vehicles.

Important: I forgot to say that not only is there 1 biker immediately in front of you, there are another 2 standing behind him. (Can everyone see the map? It's on the map.)

Sullivan is NPCd and has Rowan's borrowed M260 GPMG, so he will light them up using that. Smoker has the M249 he recovered from the hangar on a post mount. Plus Jane. So the 3 bikers have a heavy MG (the ma-deuce), a GPMG (M260) and a SAW shooting at them, quite unfair!

quote:
"Hey Brad you dipshit! You are so easily fooled aren't you. They are going for the prisoners. Matter of fact so am I. So why don't you put down your axe and come quiet like. You don't have to die. Jail and eventually a Templar Tribunal where you will be found guilty because you are and then lawfully executed. The old Brad Modeen would never have done this. He wouldn't have killed Aaron. Aaron was a friend. For that alone you deserve to die. The old saying of One Riot. One Ranger! is true. Only problem is I'm the only Ranger around. So I guess I will have to do. Now drop the fucking axe and reach for the sky or prepare to meet your damned Reckoner Masters. Tell them that Jason Sinclair is still around and still hunting their minions. Tell them I will find a way to defeat them! I am taking this world back Modeen if it's the last thing that I do!"

This could be a Bluff, Overawe and/or Taunt. I will definitely give you a Red chip for playing Big Britches in such a quasi-suicidal manner befitting the Texas Rangers.

In theory this takes 3 actions but I'll let you make all three attempts at once. Roll good or, frankly, he's going to take Jason apart like a cheap suit! He's not a Big Bad for nothin'.

In reply to Smoker Nix (msg # 812):

My pleasure!

1) Need new Quickness rolls from Smoker and Roadkill, plus Actions for everyone.

2) Jane drew the Black Joker, sorry, lost her turn. She freezes, whatever.

3) Make sure you indicate you are holding an Action, if possible. If not, you won't be. Remember, sleeving a card (holding an Action) is the only way to Dodge an attack.

In reply to Roadkill (msg # 815):

Wait a minute: RK was outside the truck, with Daphne. He's re-mounting? Doing so and then starting the truck moving is 2 actions, so he won't have a Hole Card.

Either way, the Black Joker only affects Jane, so previously held cards or current Hole Cards for other players are safe.

In reply to Peter Firecrow (msg # 545):

driving over the road wasnt to bad, at least it wasnt a dirt track, that would probably end up snapping or bending something down below.

"at least the trees are in a nice row, just enough to smash our way to the hostages"

Beside him, Daphne smiled and snugged her M22 rifle into her shoulder as she aimed out the passenger-side firing port.

"No kidding! We'll be there in no time, I'm getting out when we stop. Someone's gotta actually free the hostages!"

listening carefully and nodding, roadkill contacts smoker up top on the truck

"right smoker, make sure you cover Daphne when she gets out to free the masses. i will only get out if need be to hold them off. our job is the prisoners. the bikers are enough for the destroyer."

A rig is not especially manoeuverable, especially in close quarters. I naturally assume RK is not attempting to avoid running over the motorcycle parked in front of him!

Once you're close to the shack things could get a little dicey! This is summed up in the elegantly titled song by the Willis Brothers:

"Give me Forty Acres (and I'll Turn This Rig Around)"

Re: The Orchard of Despair!

In reply to Smoker Nix (msg # 822):

You bet! It would require a roll of some kind, natch.

I changed my post a little; I realise that you all probably had actions held from previous turns, which you can use to move now (spend the held action to move up your initiative, per house rules). From now on, no one is assumed to have a held action unless stated clearly in their post.

Also, be advised I'm doing a post for the Destroyers, so just hang on a minute if you want to see what they're doing.
