Roadkill:
The only thing I can see as people not wanting is to use Celsius as it has the freezing of ice at 0 while kelvin has 0 as absolute 0.
Really? Celsius freezes at 0, water boils at 100. 20 is warm and pleasant, -20 is balls-achingly cold.
The other common alternative is Fahrenheit, which has a freezing point of 32. The other common temperature points are equally arbitrary. I think the uses for Kelvin are clear enough when you'd be using it (for science and industry), and it's not like you can actually reach Absolute Zero.
Technical Tactics:
Roadkill's instructions (it's debatable who's in command but it's useful for one person to call the shots) for the technical are along the lines of what was originally proposed. That is, as the convoy's mobile heavy support vehicle so deploying it is sensible.
The technical is in the rear because most threats will come from the front so if the rig gets engaged or stopped, the technical is free to respond. Were other vehicles to join they would go in behind the technical, or maybe it would remain "tail end Charlie" so that the Ma-Deuce (.50-cal. M2HB) can cover the rear.
That's the theory, at least. This was the suggestion of a friend of the family's who went to military academy. He was sent to military academy because he had problems growing up, it didn't "take" and instead of entering the Forces he led a life of crime. I was casting about for something to talk about other than the fact he's gotten out of jail on a drugs charges. Great, some well-meaning parents gave a budding gangster military training, just fucking awesome.
At any rate, I'll give Richard (Trejo) until today to post, then we'll proceed. (Paul, kick Richard for me?)
