So...Buck Masterson and Increase Trask....were they separated at birth, or are they half-brothers, or full-on brothers who don't like to keep the same last name? =)

Why, my nickname as a child was "Hugo". Why do you ask?

As a note, Jane already carries a machinegun, a Hellfire SAW:

Rowan's MG, the M260 SAW, is a nice weapon, but the Hellfire is advanced with a lighter, bullpup design and firing a larger, better-penetrating 12mm caseless round.

Rowan's M260 SAW (7.62x39mm):

Thanks for those pictures Tony.  *I* hadn't realized the differences.  I'll go and post saying I'll take mine.  No offense to Rowan's weapon.  That's a good one too.

In reply to Rowan Dawson (msg # 881):

As a matter of fact the early model SA80 magazines used to fall out because the release button was easy to strike with the leg or arm while carrying.

I realised the Wolverine has more than enough capacity to take the M260 SAW as a backup weapon. There's a weapon bracket to hold it on the back for when they were using other weapons than the XM-40 Ripper.

The SA80 is an abomination even with the rework. it was designed with a war in Europe in mind. Not global conflict
it is useless in the desert even worse in high altitude conditions. The standard Nato round lacks stopping power and range. To the effect that the marks men in the troop have been issued with L129A1 sharpshooter rifle

The SA80 replacement contract is now ongoing with the Royal marine already replace with the C8 Diemaco

Well, let's not forget that the prototypes and some of th first production rifles had this nasty tendency to blow up in the shooter's faces...quite literally. Also the reliabiity was massively improved by the rework, which was done by H&K, just as the M16 rework, at least for some of those. As for the ballistics of the 5.56 round...I hav made my peace by now with the G3 to G36 switch. And both the M4 and the  FAMAS are fun to shoot. Especially the FAMAS. That being said, can I get an updated version of the G3 please? Or if it has to be a short range round, why not 7.92 kurz? Or 9x39?

I am hoping that a 3D printable stock becomes available, but I won't hold my breath.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

In reply to Increase Trask (msg # 887):

Ah that was a nice concept pic from H&K. favorite sharpshooter gun in RL is .330 Arctic Warfare Magnum. British weapon chambers a .330 caliber magnum rifle round. Quite nice weapon and a decent TK in most vid games from Half-life's Counterstrike Skin to a couple of Call of Duty mods. They tend to keep the physics pretty close to the actual mark at least from what I know of the actual physics. As I live in the US getting a permit for a military grade "hunting rifle" is fairly easy, but the import cost is problematic as well as the fact that I can't trust some of the people in my household. That includes the use of Biometric gun locks and Biometric Safes.

Fact is the above mentioned rifle and a Swiss made octagonal round pistol are among my favorite trophy pieces. Not that I own either. Gotta get a FOID card first. (Firearm Owners Identification Card is what FOID stands for in case you don't know.) I actually want one of Jason's pistols. His Texas Ranger standard issue.

10:45, Today: COL Kurt L. Schaeffer rolled 4 using 2d6, keeping the highest dice only, rerolling max with rolls of 4,2.  Scrounging check for bullpup G3.

Very funny. Considering to spend chips on this...

Anyways, we were talking real life like ;)

In reply to Rowan Dawson (msg # 894):

It's expensive because not a lot were made.

$750 for the rifle. Top rail, but no optics.

There are 3 spare magazines available. Ammunition is $2 a round due to the relative rarity of 7.62x51mm ammunition. (It also has an AV of 2, I believe.)
