Tee hee.. if the Raptor is backing in, the results of being bashed by the skycrane hook could be quite spectacular!!!

Not sure I could grab a friendly aircraft coming in to land, but I think bashing an unfriendly one will be possible... :)

If you go first Smoker, I can see if you can catch it or whatever.  If I go first, hopefully it won't be too longer before you, and could hold the action until after I see what you do.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

I have to say that getting all of each of our cards on one action kind of sucks in a situation like this when some of us have to wait for the bad guys but they don't go until the end of the round almost. That means I get to waste 3 actions doing nothing kind of. Lol

Yeah I was thinking that too.  Smoker?  Think I should not wait for your turn and just go shoot at the thing or hold my actions to coordinate, etc.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

In reply to Peter Firecrow (msg # 128):

At this point Peter couldn't have affected the Raptor, anyways. If we went last, what could he do that would be different? He could sleeve a card (1 Action), Wait (1 Action) and then take his last 2 Actions after the Raptor.

It does seem counter-intuitive; if you want to wait to coordinate then it costs 1 Action. But waiting is an inefficient action of a sort so there is a downside.

In combat actions are resolved on your turn so in the normal course of things, going before the bad guy is an advantage. Some variation on sequential initiative (I-Go, You-Go) is pretty standard for RPGs. I believe Deadlands: Reloaded is like this, but you get 1 Action per turn.

In table play, DL normally resolves each Action on a separate card, but that leads to insanely long turns! Think of it: 6 players with 2 or more Actions, plus bad guys, something like 15+ cards might be drawn, with each post resolved in order before later ones.

(What I am doing now is Quickness determines your total Actions, up to 5, and I draw that number of cards for you and take the highest as your Initiative card. So having a high Quickness still is a considerable plus in that you have a higher init and more Actions.)

As for if standing up is a full Action, I'll say it's not. But if you don't take a full Action, then you are counted as "Hip Firing" (-2) if you combine that with a firing Action.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

<holds up hands> Just to be clear, I'm not yelling at you or saying you suck or I hate your GMing or anything, lol! =)

It isn't so much that he couldn't affect the Raptor, but I also can't wait for the Raptor to dock and disgorge guys except with 2 of my 4 actions....of course, it may take multiple rounds for people to emerge from the Raptor as well so it may be moot!!

And I know it can make longer rounds if people can in card order instead of all at once like you are doing...part of the reason I like Deadlands IS the initiative system where the bad guy might go first once and then not go again until 2, while 2 of the good guys both go on Kings and 10s or something. It's more...fluid. But I agree harder to emulate on rpol here.

Shrug. Sorry. I'll stop whining.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

In reply to Peter Firecrow (msg # 131):

Don't worry, I am not being defensive, just seeing if anything could be different! I  agree that multiple cards for initiative is a key part of the system. It was just taking too long and too complicated to have people make multiple posts per turn. Some aspects are preserved, so there's that.

So don't shrug or apologise, I don't think you're whining. Don't sweat it.

Everyone, get your actions in!

Thanks!  ;)

PS:  I will be away from a computer until around Sunday afternoon/evening.  I know I'm in other games with a lot so can you spread the word if you haven't seen me post my absence yet?  I'd appreciate it.  Crunch time to withdrawal.  LOL.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

Hey all!

New player, just brought in to fill the departing huckster's shoes (until I can figure out how to play a junker without constantly risking gun taint...). Glad to be working with you all!

I'd ask a favor, if you're willing- As I'm jumping in without a lot of hindsight, could any of you that feel you've had a decent amount of interaction with Shay either post or PM me how you feel the interaction went? I'd rather continue on with how she's been acting instead of suddenly being completely different when it comes to other PC's!

Thank you so much!

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts III

In reply to Shay Mordred-Spades (msg # 141):

No one had a lot of interaction with Shay, except perhaps Rowan. The player complained that no one seemed to want to interact with her, but as she chose to have her PC wear black from head-to-toe with a hat and mask, spoke in a hoarse whisper and had an aversion to being touched it's not all that surprising. I kind of edited out the most anti-social parts of her background and persona, hope you don't mind!

Right now, she's in the upper corridor along with the Posse. She is helping Rowan carry her M260 (SA SAW) and 2 ammo cans across her shoulders.
