Smoker rolled his eyes. Clearly he and Dakota had radically different ideas of what made for fun. He sighed and began to limp down the other side of the tunnel, keeping his eyes peeled for anything untoward.

The remaining 2 maintenance personnel tried to clean up the dropped lightbulbs (they were rugged emergency lights so only a couple had broken) and put a few last lights up while there was time. The dog team, Dakota, Smoker, Schaeffer, Vundra and then Brother Edgar reached the end of the tunnel. A sign announced that this was Hellstromme Corporate Offices, now Junkyard's City Hall.

There didn't appear to be anything amiss, no one waited in ambush. The dog team made sure there was no one under the floor or in the walls.

Back at the hotel, they waited for the all-clear.

Dakota is almost disapointed when they reach the end of the tunnel but he smiles anyway. "Agreed, when they start movin' down here do ya wanna do tha typical sandwhich formation. One team in tha front an' back?"

Peter watched carefully after Simon's comment about a commotion in the tunnel. He wasn't sure what happened but it was over quickly it looked like. He held his position, trusting that his allies would be able to handle it...or let him and the others know if they couldn't.

The Junkyard Militia MPs deployed in force. Pairs were stationed down the tunnel every 20 feet. The delegates were let through accompanied in groups.

After about 10 minutes, Simon's group was asked to go.

Peter gave a nod to Simon, "Yep. Let's go. Jane, bring up the rear please?" He proceeded Simon into the tunnel. He was a bit on edge so he unslung the autoshotgun as he walked.

As they were underground, Vundra needed to climb up to the ground level. The windows were high up and narrow. This was not a glass-walled and chrome steel modernist building but solid, Stalin-esque with plenty of marble and concrete. A style called "brutalist".

Outside, he could see there were more Militia stationed in the streets surrounding City Hall.

City Hall, the old Hellstromme Industries HQ, was fortified. Robot gun turrets festooned the roof, Militia patrolled the perimeter.

City Hall was a massive, fortified structure. No wonder back when it was the regional Hellstromme HQ, staff and security held out for weeks after the bombs fell (but did not destroy the domed Junkyard). The whole building was crawling with security, both Militia and armed City Hall security personnel.

Dakota, Smoker, Vundra and the others were allowed to wander the lower areas and ground floors. The basements held not just the usual utility and storage but hardened bunkers and fallout shelters. Ground and lower floors held offices and cafeterias. Upper floors were for executive offices, board rooms and conference rooms and an executive dining room. The upper floors were also where the meetings would take place, so access was restricted.

Downstairs, Simon and company made it down the corridor without incident. Security and Militia guided the delegates into elevators which took them to the upper floors. From there they were directed into designated areas, old conference rooms and cafeterias. There was a heavy security presence.

Peter kept himself moving forward, but stayed close to Simon as they moved. But by 'close', he was about 10ft away at most. He didn't want to crowd the Templar but he wanted to be close enough in case something ambushed them. He didn't think there was going to be an ambush in the tunnel but he stayed alert anyway.

Rowan looks worried, one more step closer to achieving a union of sorts, where was the opposition.

They would have to move soon or it would be to late for them to do so.
But she felt no threat in the areas she was capable of acting against
