Re: Night Moves
In reply to The Marshall (msg # 234):
Past Oli City they followed the Interstate south a ways until they came to the Red River and the ruins of Shreveport. Ominously, thin columns of wispy black smoke became visible here and there in the forest surrounding them. Although the vegetation had grown back (and then some) there was still evidence around them of a massive fire and damage like burned-down structures, blown-over light and sign poles, burned and fallen tree trunks and stumps.
Over the CB, Roadkill said, "breaker breaker. This here's Roadkill. You got your ears on? Come on back."
Marshall's Note: this is where Peter or whoever would reply in the affirmative.
"We're gonna start seeing some black smoke here and there. Comin' outta the ground. During the war, there was some kind of CSA military base next to the city that got nuked. It didn't leave no Ghoust Storm but some of the oil wells around here were set on fire. The oil wells are still burning today. Some folks call this the "smoky valley" on account of that."
