Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Timothius looks down at the soccer dude. "...hi. My name's Tim." he spreads his wings. "I came to rescue you. And now that you're safe, I can be your friend too... come on.. there's people in need down there and a fire breathing dragon preparing to hurt them! Will you help me rescue them?" He hopes the needs of others will be enough to distract the suicidal teen from whatever has him wanting to die.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Now that the water was off the dragon, Diren had an idea.  He threw two metal spheres at the beast, which if successful would surround his armbands.  If that works, he will shout "Get back!" and wait for the dragon to be a bit clearer, and then re-aim the water at him, causing what Diren believed to be the weak spot to explode.

If unsuccessful in the armband part, he will simple aim the water back at the creature.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Michael catches the handcuffs tossed at him and nods to the officers.  "You got it," he answers before turning to focus on the heroes trying to pull up the bank robber dangling over the side of the building.  A moment later he appears next to them and helps them pull the petrified thief onto the roof before cuffing the guy.  The thief offers no reply to his heroes, still clinging to the bag of loot for dear life.

"You mean...  I can fly with you?!" the soccer kid asks Timothius.  The moment Timothius gets off the guy, he begins flapping his arms, "Woah!  You're right!  I CAN fly!  Radical!"

He jumps off the roof, arms flapping furiously, and falls like a rock.  "WOOOAAAH!"

Meanwhile, inside the daycare, an important detail Haalima wasn't told is about to become painfully obvious to her.  The door was made to swing in!  On the other hand, another important detail is about to be made obvious to the door.  7' tiger-horse!  WHAM!  The door buckles from the impact and rips out of it's frame, in-swinging hinges and all!  The furry dancer, now with a dislocated shoulder, tumbles into the alley behind the building with her much more the worse for wear dance partner mangled below her.  Adults and children alike cheer between smoke inhalation induced coughs as they pour out of the burning building behind her.

The dragon out front is none too happy with Emerald's taunts and dodging of burning pavement fireball of doom!  It takes a deep breath, preparing to send the biggest fireball it can muster at the fox when Sarah's power glues it's lips shut!  Sure, it's probably strong enough to break the spell, but it doesn't know that, and the possibility of lip-rip sounds a bit too painful to risk, so it instead expels the stored up lungs full of fire out it's nose, sending two streams of blazing heat at a pair of cars across the street!  The gasoline in the cars explode, sending them flying chaotically into the air!  Judging from their trajectory, they could land dangerously close to Emerald and Sarah!

Distracted by it's rage, the dragon doesn't notice two small flying metal spheres attach themselves to it's armbands.  Magnesium to be more specific.  Which is highly reactive to water.  Because the stream of water from the nearby hydrant is now arcing over the dragon's head, all Diren has to do is turn down the pressure just a little bit and... Sploosh!  KABOOM!  The magnesium explodes, leaving the armbands cracked and weakened!  The dragon roars in a rage!  Which makes it's lips hurt.  But not as badly as point-blank explosion.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Moments after Diren's metal demolition, Mittens arrives toe-to-toe with the fiery dragon.  Drenched in the water now spraying the area, she's able to get that close without bursting into flame.  She leaps into the air and joins the dragon's roar with a battlecry of her own, raising the axe and machete over her head.  She brings her weapons down onto the armbands with all her might!  Weakened by Diren's demolitions, they shatter!  Massive amounts of energy is released, and there's a huge classic anime explosion, sending Mittens hurling backwards unconscious through the air, blood trickling down her ears and nose!  The dragon screams in agony and thrashes about as it's form begins to disintegrate!  It's flames sputter like a fire running out of fuel before it vanishes in a puff of smoke!

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Whatever scrap metal Diren is able to move, Diren moves into position to use as a blast shield to protect the others and himself.  Once the explosion is over, he runs to Mittins while shouting "Timothius! Your sister is in deep trouble!  First aid needed NOW!"  He lowers the blast shields, since it was a big drain on his powers.  He is about to pass out himself, not that he would ever admit it.

Timothius dives off the building. He notices Diren yelling and freaks out. With a mighty flap of his wings, Timothius charges straight for Mittens, forsaking the suicidal guy without even really thinking about it. "Mitts!" he almost crashes into her before suddenly flapping against the direction he's going to bring himself to a rather sudden stop and lands next to her to put a hand on her for healing.

Liberty gasps. "Mike! Jumper!" she points before jumping herself. She gets into diving position in hopes of beating the suicider to the bottom. Should she catch up, she would grab the guy and turn to have her back facing the ground. This is going to hurt if Michael doesn't rescue them via teleporting. But Liberty jumped in hopes she could break this guy's fall enough anyway...

Haalima winced, her face twisting with pain as she clutched her arm. Her ears flattened back against her hair and she closed her eyes tightly for a moment as she gritted her teeth. Holy beejesus, that had hurt. A lot. She would have probably had some choice words to say about the door and her shoulder, but there were children present so she shoved the pain back and got to her hooves instead.

Turning around, she looked at the nearest adult. "Make sure the children get to a safe place!" Then she heard the explosion from the front of the building. Her ears perked forward for a moment before she took off around the building, heading back toward the front as fast as she could while holding her dislocated arm to her side.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

“Great, more cars.”  Sarah said as the cars hurled towards her and Emerald. Not that it was possible to hear it with all the explosions. She kept an eye on the cars as she ran out of their way, making her almost trip over some rubble. But she manages to evade the attack unharmed having found some cover behind a newspaper booth.

Once the cars had landed she took a look from behind the booth just in time to see Mittens jump at the dragon. “damn, that girl’s insane… erg, no time for that now.” she thinks as she checks the roof to see what’s the situation there. It was somewhat hard to see from the distance and she only had a second before Mittens made the dragon go boom. But there was no one hanging on the roof anymore so she figured it was safe to disable the sticky area’s she had made. Taking cover for a second time Sarah didn’t exactly see what happened.

This was soon made clear when she heard Diren shout for Timothius. Coming from behind her cover Sarah looked at the sky for Tim but found more people than she expected. “Doh!” she exclaimed as she saw the kid fall, with Liberty close behind him. Sarah hoped to be quick enough to shut off her own ability of being a litle faster and turning it around for the kid, making him fall slower for Liberty to catch him.

Dumb as a sack of hammers and falling like one too...  Unkind thoughts? yes.  Accurate thoughts? Also yes.  He's not about to call attention to the Jumper kid when Mittens has recently been tossed across the scenery like a Ragdoll physics demo.

"Laws of physics don't stop us now." Joe mutters as he lowers himself over the edge of the roof and kicks off the wall to hit the ground before the last two jumpers... This situation does not bode well if Joe ever sees people jumping off a Bridge/Cliff.

"I have no freaking clue it this is even feasible." he thinks as he jumps straight up again, hoping to kill some momentum by grabbing Liberty when they grab the kid...  Nevermind three people are heavier than one for the rest of the fall.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Emerald yips as she sees cars coming and the massive explosion. She nimbly weaves out of the way before noticing the other happenings. Suicidal teen: Nothing Emerald can do about him. Half dead Mittens. Nothing Emerald can do about her. Building on fire. Nothing Emerald can do about that. She's small and nimble. That isn't good for catching 200 Lbs worth of falling bodies, or healing a dying person when a super medic with healing powers is available, or dousing a building that's on fire when "I can aim water from a hydrant" Diren is available. Could be worse, though. She could be a burden to the group by being injured.

Emerald remembers Haalima ran inside the burning building and hasn't come out yet. So the fox trots on over to the inside to look for Haalima. "Haalima! Are you OK!" she calls out as she starts tracking where the tiger-horse went.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

A physics defying sequence of events takes place within moments of each other.  A chunk of hatchback car door that was laying around slides over to Diren then pops up in front of him just before the big kaboom.  An out-of-his-mind teen plummeting to his likely doom slows midair just enough for Liberty to catch up.  Joe, the athletic teen who seems to have a propensity for reckless actions to save the day, zips past them head first, flips midair to hit the ground hard (at least it was his feet and not his face), then hops right back up at them to collide with them both midair, slowing their decent a little more!  And just before they hit bottom, a Jamaican man baseball slides to the spot they'll hit and transforms into a giant worm!

WHUMPF!

Three people make a comparatively soft landing considering they just fell 6 stories!  This of course happens right behind Emerald as she peeks into the entrance of the burning daycare.  It hasn't been but a few minutes since the fire started, but it's already blazing hot.

"Back up, kid!" a firefighter clad in protective clothing designed for such intense heat tells Emerald, "Let me find your friend.  This place will melt your face off!"

The guy is probably younger than Emerald, but she's so short, how's he supposed to know?  If Emerald had decided to use the megaphone, Haalima probably heard her from the back side of the building.

The kids and adults move away from the burning building as requested by Haalima, but a different group of people approach her.  Different in more ways than one.  One is wearing a bikini and her exposed skin is marked with a meat cut diagram. ( http://wizbangpop.com/images/2...n_peta_poster_00.jpg )  Another is wearing a full body pig costume.  A third is wearing a PETA shirt.

"The poor thing!" the bikini girl says.

"She's hurt!" pig person says.  Hard to make out the gender.

"We'll help you!" T-Shirt guy says.

On the other side of the street, Paladin Mittens regains consciousness when touched by her bro.  "Thanks again, bro!" she says, trying hard to not look like she's in immense pain.  She knows he hates it when she's hurting.  "Draggy fall down go booom!  Anything else need kamikazed?"

Firefighters and emergency workers swarm the scene and begin doing their emergency thing.  The driver of the SWAT van decides to push the car blocking the road aside with his vehicle.  Anybody's guess if he'll be praised or reprimanded for messing up the van for that.

Diren tries to redirect the fire, but fails due to fatigue.  He feels as if he is about to collapse.  His 'Ego' side gives in to his 'People will DIE!' side.  "Hey Tim, can i get a little heals?" He says, holding out his arm.  Assuming Tim gives him the heals, since Tim is a good person, he will use his renewed strength to adjust the fire hydrant in order to (help) put out the fire.

Haalima's ears drooped down as she saw the PETA activists. She cringed, both from physical pain and from the pain of being near them. If she had a dollar for every time that some animal rights group had tried to get her to be their spokesperson, she would have been able to keep her apartment an additional month.

"I'm fine," she explained to them, holding up the hand of her uninjured arm. "Really. There's emergency services right around the block, I'll just go over there and see them..." Haalima looked to see what would be the best way to get around them and beat a hasty retreat.

Joe doesn't have a dead body on his hands, literally.  Score.  "Thanks Rodney.  Keep the kid from trying to fit his head under a car or whatever he does next."  That said, Joe gets back up and heads over to check on Sarah considering she's the only one of them in sight not buddy systemed up with people checking on em.

"Right, thanks for the save aid.  I think.  You holdin up alright and have you seen the rest of us turn up somewhere yet?"  Joe might think to try the Cellphones when there's a bit less FIRE everywhere.

Sarah is equally glad to see the kid didn’t say splatter on the pavement. She pulls out her pack of tobacco and starts to roll a ciggie when she sees Joe heading her way.

“Glad I could help Joe. I could use a drink, but I’m doing great compared to some people around here.” She replies while looking around at the mess. Her hands are a little shaky but she looks ok. Sarah rubs her forehead a bit as she turns her attention back to Joe to try and answer his second question. “I don’t think I have seen any of us turn up beside the ones that were here to begin with…Except for Rodney. I was a little late so I could have missed someone, but the ones I havn’t seen are Cell and Haalima.” She lights up the cigarette she rolled and dares ask a question of her own.

"Did you see if Mits is still breathing? She seems to have taken the worst of it." Sarah wouldn’t gladly let it show but she is pretty worried about her condition.

Timothius definitely rushes to heal up Diren. Then runs to check on Joe, Liberty and the criminal. "Are you all OK?" he asks, reaching for Liberty and Joe's hands regardless of the answer.

Liberty, of course, nods to Tim. "I'm fine, thanks. Can't speak for Joe or this crazy." she thumbs at the dude. "And our favorite Jamaican could use some healing, I bet."

Tim is already on it as Liberty speaks.

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Meanwhile, Emerald pops out the back not far behind Haalima. Fantastic... PETA. She thinks fast, though. She gives them the cutest puppy-look she can muster with her ears falling back as she tucks her tail and then in a mix of sorrow and frustration, she says, "Actually, there's a bigger problem you can help us with! Did you know there were people speaking out against us just a week ago?! They said we were bad because we happen to not be human! They wanna shut us down and don't care at all when one of us gets hurt."

Sicking the PETA on the protesters. Emerald is so evil. And so proud of it.

She asides to Haalima, "Get going. Tim's on the other side of the building. I'll get these folks... up to date."

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

"Ohmygosh!" the girl in a pig suit squeals, "She's. So. Cuuuute!"

She instant goes to glomp Emerald.

"Can't argue with that," T-Shirt guy says, "But that is the famous Emerald Haynesworth.  You know... one of the famous Citizen Patrol heroes?  Might want personal space?  ...she's not listening.  Yeah.  Saw that on the news, Ms. Haynesworth.  In fact, we were just having a meeting discussing a counter-protest."

Bikini girl is a little less aggressive as she approaches Haalima.  She reaches to take the tall dancer's uninjured hand and help her up, but won't force her help on Haalima if she doesn't want it.

"No, you're not fine, silly," she retorts gently, "Easy does it, I'll help ya get to the fix-it guys.  That was amazing what you did.  Bust down that door to help all those kids."

Meanwhile, at the front of the building...

Rodney is out cold.  Soccer dude is all dizzy and stumbling about.  "Woooah.  What a ride, hahah.  Ok now that's just too weird.  What's with the giant worm?!"

Michael comes around the corner of the building having walked down the stairs with the captured bank robber.  The guy gave him way too much trouble to bother trying to teleport him down.  The two police officers from earlier thank him and the others who helped capture the guy and take the crook into custody.

"Looks like everyone survived the fall," Michael says, "For future reference... There's no way I'll ever be able to teleport fast enough to rescue a jumper."

Mittens staggers about to exaggerate how injured she is.  Well... Not much of an exaggeration.

"The garbage warrior is fine," she says, picking up her trashcan lid shield, "Great work saving the day, everyone!  Ooh... Hey guys...  Camera crews.  We should like... pose all heroic or something."

She points over at the TV vans that are being held at bay by police securing the scene, then strikes a pose.

"...Ow."

Re: Scene 2:  Never a Dull Moment

Joe is all the way over with Sarah, but Tim's gesture is at least appreciated even if nowhere near close enough to touch.  Not that it would have helped his now snapped in half mechanical pencil.  But Joe's condition cant always end on ridiculous self inflicted injury.  "I'm fine, Mittens is over yonder and looks less crispy than Liberty did last explosion... Not that she's doing spectacular either.  Scues me."

That said, Joe heads over to the Kamikaze Cat.  He will try to hold her down if she attempts to jumping high five for the sake of camera crews in her condition.  "Mittens, less posin more sit the hell down you were in an explosion.  Don't make me get Diren to chain your shoe's together or something." Ah, such a touching display of concern.

OOC Style: Glad my commentary helped out your previous posting situation Sarah.  Always nice when my rambling has a practical use.

Timothius says, "Mitts! Stop hurting yourself!" before going back to make-sure-others-are-OK duty. This includes hurrying around the building to check on Haalima. When he sees Haalima, he runs over to her, only subconsciously registering the... well OK the pig-suited PETA member with Emmy in arms is rather eye catching. But then, to Tim, so is the fact Haalima looks hurt. "Haalima!" he calls out before rushing to her and reaching out to touch her.

Emerald wishes she could have warned Timothius somehow. But now ALL the furries, save Mittens, are with the PETA people. She'd facepalm, but... being hugged. "Uh... thanks." she says with a nervous chuckle to the pig-suit that called her cute. Emerald wasn't expecting to be picked up and hugged, but she had the reflex to dodge it. She chose not to. Her plan is to be on PETA's good side. Besides... being a fox, she is kind of a non-official member herself. "Oh! It's Tim. He'll heal you well enough." Haalima might be a little soar, but Tim's healing power will speed up the healing process to where the soarness might go away too. She then looks at pig girl and says, "I like a hug as much as the next girl, but it would be embarrassing to be carried like a pet to my friends. Can we go back to the others with some dignity?" she asks with a half-pleading tone.

I think he's high on something. Can we lock him up so he doesn't hurt himself?" she asks with genuine concern on her face. Then looks towards Sarah, "Everyone else OK?"

Then she notices Mittens trying to be dashing and embarrassing herself. "...she's the leader. Which means she symbolizes the whole group." she narrates to herself. Then gets up, teen in hand, and walks over to Mittens. "Mittens, I don't know... would it be even better for our image that we keep being caught on film hurt, sullied and burnt?" she was lucky that she wasn't put on the news naked. Even if they blurred it, she would not have lived it down. But today isn't as bad. "You know... I'm really starting to wonder about these elementals. Can we expect an Earth elemental and Air elemental?"

“I’m fine.” she replies to Liberty before taking another puff of her cigarette. Than she remembers Ishida’s bicycle. ‘erg…he’s not gonna be glad I wrecked his bike…again.’ she thinks as she makes her way to the group gathered around Mittens. With all the commotion of fire-fighters, paramedics and media it would be impossible to make a decent phone call so she decides to wait a little before bringing Ishida the bad news.

Once arrived at the group she takes a look at Mittens and says “I hope you feel better than you look at the moment kid.” there were some other things that she wanted to say and ask, but seeing the state Mittens is in Sarah decides to wait until the girl is fit enough to smile again. Instead she turns to Liberty who’s still holding the soccer kid. “Well I dunno much about elementals but I sure know were gonna need a bloody battle plan if we wanna survive this hero business for longer than a month.” she takes a short breath and continues. “damn dragon almost squashed me under a car, can’t believe that thing just came out of nowhere. If that’s gonna be the case with all those elements than we’re never gonna get a clue to where they came from.” Sarah had been shaken up a bit by all that happened but hearing her complains its safe to say she’s completely back to her old self again.
