Emerald widens her eyes then responds in a quieted voice, "Wow... that's really neat, Crystal. I have powers too. I look forward to meeting your mom."

She pulls into the driveway, hops off her moped and puts the helmet aside. Emmy then follows Crystal to the door and knocks.

A young lady came to the door and opened it, her long brunette hair pulled back into a pony tail. "Yes, can I help you with something." She asked, that's when she noticed Crystal. "Suna Nani o kono-jikan o okonatte imasu.*" She asked as she pulled the girl into the house quickly. "I am sorry if my Myūto daughter has bothered you in any way."

*Nothing mamma.* Crystal said as fear came into her eyes. *Please don't be angry.*

*What have you done this time.

Emerald says, "She got overwhelmed by the number of people, got scared and ran off. I calmed her down and offered to bring her home..."

Emerald then speaks in Japanese, <Japanese>"I'm guessing from your lack of surprise at seeing a talking fox that you know who I am. May I come in?"</Japanese>

The lady looked away from the child and back toward Emerald. "Umm yes please come in." She said hesitantly. Once inside the door you could see that you were standing in a huge dinning room that connected to the kitchen. "Please have a seat. Did you want any tea or water?" She asked ignoring the question about Emerald being a Fox.

Emerald comes in. "Tea, please. Arigato." she finds her way to a seat to sit in and patiently waits. But she doesn't go idle. "My name is Emerald. How may I address you?"

"Arabella." The lady said as she moved toward the fridge to get the ice tea. "Suna, get the glasses then go to your room." She said looking at the child again.

"Yes mamma." Crystal whispered as she quickly went to the cupboard and got two glasses. She got ice from the door ice maker and set them on the table. With a quick frightened glance at Emerald, Crystal quickly left the room.

"I hope My little daughter didn't cause you any trouble. She was teased a lot so we started homeschooling her, but that teacher said it would be a good idea to send her to the safety demo. If I had known..."

Emerald gives a reassuring smile and says, "You have a pretty name, Arabella. And I think it was a good idea for Crystal to come to the event. Today, she encountered someone her age who cared about her. Eli is normally a shy boy, but after a little encouragement from his parents, he went to talk to her. The Citizens' Patrol was there today... so a lot of people there have gifts like Crystal; myself included. She even opened up to me on the way here to your home. Nobody made fun of her at the event, she just had lingering fears of that happening. The main reason she is here is because she said she just wanted to be with you, so I figured maybe.. if it is OK with you.. maybe some of the kids from the Citizens' Patrol, who I assure you will not say mean things to her, could come to your home until Crystal is comfortable going with them to other places?"

Emmy thinks a child therapist probably wouldn't hurt, but suggesting such can be tricky as some parents take that to mean the child is in far more trouble than they really are.

Either way, whenever Arabella's eyes are averted, Emerald is sure to glance for a ring on the woman's ring finger, or any family photos around the house. She wants to know if there is a father figure in this picture without having to ask.

There weren't very many pictures located in the room, only one, in it was pictured Arabella, Darryl, And Crystal. The child had a frightened look in her eyes and what looked to be a bruise on her arm. Noticing the look, Arabella blushed, "Her father passed a few months ago, she has never really gotten over it."

"You say she opened up to you?" Arabella asked. "She must really like you if she spoke. Citizens Patrol? I've heard of you before, do you have a place where young children go to learn to control their gifts?" She asked.

Emerald nods and says, "Well... we're working on that. Like anyone who suddenly finds themselves with these gifts, we too have been learning as we go. But we are trying to put together something where we can teach each other how best to use what we have... the real obstacle is that we are each so different. Your daughter, for example, says she can control wind and time. Meanwhile, the boy who was talking to her earlier has a power that allows him to replicate technology. The little girl in our group is super tough to where bullets would likely only bruise her. Me? I have the ability to know all the languages of the world. As different as we are, the main problem is that nobody I know but Crystal has control over time or wind. But we have been dealing with some bizarre enough situations that we can give educated guesses on how it works and how would be best to control such powers."

Crystal peaked around the corner at Emerald. "What did I just tell you to do young lady!" Arabella yelled at her. "Get up to your room, NOW."

"Yes mamma." Came her scared whispered reply. "But may I..."

"Yes but make it quick." She said as Crystal entered the room.

Crystal quickly went to Emerald and hugged her. "I wanna stay with you please." She whispered then ran from the room.

Emerald twitches when the mom raises her voice.

Emerald is very huggable. Like hugging a toddler, but with fur. She smiles at Crystal, then watches the kid leave before looking back at Arabella with a smile and says, "While I appreciate the privacy, it's OK, really. We are kind of discussing her, after all... what were you hoping or planning for Crystal?"

"I was actually looking for someone to watch over her while I attended to somethings in another state, since she has taken a liking to you, I thought maybe..." Arabella blushed and stood from the chair she sat on. She headed over to the cupboard and came back with a folder of papers. "This has all of the info you will need as far as allergies, medical and dental insurance, a signed copy of papers allowing you to seek medical attention for my daughter should she need it. I...I already had this set up for whomever I chose to care for her." She explained.

Emerald widens her eyes. "...and how long will you be gone?" she looks over the papers to see what all is involved.

"Probably a few weeks but I didn't want to take her just in case." Arabella explained. She paused a moment and nodded her head. As she did Crystal came back into the room, and after grabbing a glass of milk from the fridge, sat in the chair next to Emerald. "If Emerald agrees?" Arabella said looking at Crystal. Crystal nodded and ran a finger across her heart in an x shape then held up two of her fingers in a boyscout hand signal.

Emerald says, "Rather sudden, but... if it will help Crystal out, then sure."

"I was actually planning on going to your headquarters, but you bringing Crystal home was an answer to pray so to speak." Arabella said as she moved from her chair once more. She added another paper to the pile. "This has my cellphone number and a few emergency contacts listed. All these people think she's a mute, that she can't speak, I would prefer it to stay that way if possible." She looked at Crystal. "Yes I forgot. Crystal has a stuffed dog that goes everywhere with her. She wanted me to tell you about him." She added as she turned to look at Emerald again.

Crystal tugged on Emeralds arm. "Mommy forgot to tell you his name is Bernard."

"Are you ready to go back to the demonstrations?" Arabella asked Crystal. "If I come with you?" Crystal shook her head at the first question but nodded at the second one. "Ok go get Bernard and I will follow Emerald back to the park." Crystal smiled and finishing her milk she raced from the room.

Emerald's look of surprise slowly shifted to one of relief. "Well... that was an unusual turn of events." she looks at Arabella. "Then you did know about me already?"

"I.. I like to keep that stuff quite. Not many people are mutant lovers, I try to follow what your group is trying to accomplish." Arabella whispered.

Emerald ohs and nods. "Well don't worry... she'll be in good hands and I won't tell the contacts that she can talk. But... would it be fine if I told the others in the Citizens' Patrol? Seeing as most of them have gifts like her."

"Oh, yes of course, especially that little Eli. Crystal is sorry she startled him like she did. She usually waits to see if they accept her telepathy but he did push her for answers." Arabella said, her eyes on Crystal.

Emerald thinks to herself "when did anyone say Eli pushed her for answ... right. telepathy" and then says, "Heh... her having telepathy is already showing some really beautiful promise."

She looks at Crystal. "Whatever Eli said, I'm sure we can sort things out. Well... let's go and I'll introduce you to the group."

If Arabella indicates she is ready by heading to the door, Emerald will also. Of course, she will probably follow on her moped while Arabella drives a car. Emmy can't fit three people on her moped... as it is, she would be hard pressed to fit one normal sized adult on it.

Arabella took Crystal's hand and led her to the car. She buckled her into the back seat then went around to the driver side and got in. She buckled her seatbelt and started the car then waited for Emerald to give the go ahead. Once on the road the trip back didn't take long and soon Arabella was pulling into a parking spot.
