Door 2: Conference Room
A large white table sits in the middle of this room, accompanied by sets of chairs. No one knows what this is for, as it seems to have no explicit purpose.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
N.P.V.C.D.Z. Mk II stumbles into the room, wandering around aimlessly before it "sits down" on two chairs. By sitting down, it's actually just kinda sprawled out across them. Perhaps it tripped over something?

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
When the abnormality sat down, nothing really happened in the room. The white conference table seemed to be the same, the chairs were all the same, everything was as it was before. However, a dim red glow appeared on the table before the creature, stating a few words slowly, one after another:

You have come far in your journey...
...but you have a way to go before you are ready.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
N.P.V.C.D.Z. Mk II senses some text, but is unclear what it makes of it. It twitches a few times from its twisted, semi-seated position before righting itself and facing the red letters. As the last of the words starts to fade, N.P.V.C.D.Z. Mk II reaches forward with its arms to try and catch it.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
The creature was unable to grasp the words that scrolled across the table, but after a brief moment, an audible click echoed through the rooms and hallway. It sounded as if a door had unlocked somewhere.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
N.P.V.C.D.Z. Mk II whirls around. Not noticing anything significant, it whirls around again, and again. And again. Obviously, this room is utter suck and useless, so it leaves and re-enters the main room.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
No one stood inside the white conference room. The chairs were still pushed into the spotless table. Still, inside the desolate room, a flash of multi-colored circuitry ran across the table in an instant. The table was once again white. Then, a spot of glowing text appeared in front of the chair opposite the one the abomination had once been at.

You have come far in your journey...
...but you have a way to go before you are ready.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
The door to the second room slowly opened with a slight nudge from the young man as he stepped through the threshold. Closing the portal behind him, Jin walked around the large table in the middle, eying the piece of furniture intently. It looked like there was some sort of circuitry underneath, but he couldn't tell from the obscuring material above.

A hum of curiosity escaped his lips as Jin slid one of the chairs out and took a seat, placing both of his feet up on the table. His partner slid out from his shadow, a dark, inky mist following her frame as it materialized. The imp sat on the table beside her host's feet, legs crossed as she looked around the room.

Surprised by the sudden reappearance of the Princess, Jin almost fell straight out of his chair. A smile crossed his face as he attempted to hug the imp, but instead found himself clutching at the air.

"Did you forget? I'm only projecting my form right now. And if you actually succeeded in touching me, I would utterly annihilate you, host.", the Princess said. Jin was visibly annoyed by her reaction. "Is that really all you can say? I was worried about you!", he told her. His reply was met with a snicker of amusement from the imp. Jin sighed and took his seat.

"So... What happened inside me when that maniac decided to give me a new arm?", Jin asked, examining his right hand. One of the strange runes tattooed on the appendage spiraled around the back of his hand, accompanied by several small scars and marks.

"I'm not exactly sure, but whatever it did seems to have given you and I a significant boost of power. We should have an easier time escaping this place now that more of my potential has been unlocked.", the Princess answered. She neglected to mention the other presence she could now feel inside the young man, however small it was compared to her own. It was surely the thing that caused the sudden spike in Jin's hunger for battle. Whatever it was, keeping the boy in the dark would be best - the less you worried about on the battlefield, the better.

"Whatever you say, Princess...", Jin said. He had his doubts about the whole ordeal. What was really going on?

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
Across the table from Jin, a frame of holographic words appeared, each letter being forced into position by an unseen hand.

As the last character fit into its disordered place, a loud crash of lightning filled the room, yet the origin was nowhere in it.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
Jin was intrigued by the hologram that had appeared before him, although the message itself seemed cryptic and alarming. He leaned forward in an attempt to inspect the image more closely, and as he did so, the loud crash made him jump. He jumped so high, in fact, that he hit the ceiling and fell back down onto the table, rolling off into the same chair he was sitting in previously. The Princess still sat on the table, in tears because she was laughing so hard. Jin slowly collected himself from the fall, leering at his companion for her reaction.

"In any case,", Jin started, before groaning and rubbing his head, "That didn't sound like it came from in here. Let's go see what the heck is going on out there.", Jin said. He continued to hold his head as he walked to the door and exited the room, followed by the Princess, who was still trying to stifle her laughter.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
---> Here from Item/Ability Acquisition

Gilgamesh and Enkidu, after their training session, felt a little more up to exploring.  After facing his past opponents, Gilgamesh had decided to spend a little time becoming more limber.  He had been hammered a few times because he had let his gear weigh him down.  The alternative had been to give up some of his swords, and he was NOT about to do that.  After the training he felt faster, stronger, and a little tougher.  He would be taking a few more blows next time he ran into Bartz.

Enkidu sniffed at the door that led into this room, so it was with some curiosity that Gilgamesh opened the door into what seemed to be a meeting room of sorts.

"What have we here, Enkidu?  Definitely nothing like that room full of floating portraits.

Pulling back a chair, he plopped down on it and considered also plopping his feet on the white table, but then thought better of it.  No telling what the cleaning robot thing would do to him if it found his dirty boots on such a clean, white table.  Leaning forward, he rubbed a finger across it just to see how clean it was.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
When nothing appeared to happen in the room, Gilgamesh gave a shrug and stood back up.

"Come, Enkidu.  There is morning training to do.  If we are to defeat our ancient foe, then we have a long ways ahead of us.  And we won't reach it by sitting in this empty room."

The many-armed swordsman and giant wolf left the room to head back to the hall of portraits.

N burst through the door to the conference room and saw the table glowing, its words starting to scrawl across the air above.

You have come far in your journey...
...but

"Not if I can help it," N growled to himself as he rushed to the table. He quickly wiped across the table with three of his fingers and a large display of buttons appeared upon the tabletop, almost holographic in nature. N typed furiously across the visible keys, doing his best to keep his calm and type through the mess of words and symbols now flowing in front of him like a raging river.

All N could do at this point in time was to hope they could make it out of this safely. The file was beyond repair, and it would take too long to replace it. He wouldn't have enough time to stop the oncoming fight.

He hoped they could survive.

The eerie silence seemed to follow the young man into this room. Jin remembered the last one in here was N, but he wasn't sure what the man had been doing. It seemed like he was in a rush, but for what? Nothing in here seemed like it had any real importance to the bigger picture.

Looking over the gleaming white table in front of him, Jin sat on one of the surrounding chairs and placed his hands on the table, palms down. There were words here before, he thought. Maybe I can get them to appear again?

The table flickered to life slowly, an unknowing prompt from Jin in order to breathe life into the mystic table once again. The fusion of soul and technology quietly hummed as the ambient light from the edges of the table traced thin lines throughout the surface, as if revealing a simple pattern upon it.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
Familiar enough with what he was reading, Jin smiled. "This thing is a computer!" Jin stood and removed his hands to get a better look at the words, and true to his guess, a set of keys appeared. Looking through the options, he brought a hand to his chin in contemplation.

"We already understand where we are and why we're here... Mostly. Try user state."

"But I feel fine!"

If there were anyone else present, they probably would have been able to feel the Demon's frustration building.

"Just... Ugh. I need to know more about our current condition; How much power we have won back, and--"

Before the Princess could finish, Jin pressed the zero key, much to his partner's chagrin. Much like usual, she pushed the chair behind the boy out of his reach, and when Jin attempted to sit, he instead fell to the floor.

The Princess' resulting laughter and Jin's complaining drowned out much of the humming and machinations of the table as it went to work.

The machine hadn't listed any other abilites Jin may have had. It kept track of everything he had ever received from his journey within the confines of this dimension, however. Whatever this 'ke' variable was, it obviously was a measuring scale for how powerful Jin had become. But what would it be used for? And against what would it measure?

The screen scrolled down a bit more.

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
"What does any of this even mean?"

Even as Jin asked that question, the Princess was already examining the options, and trying to figure out what each one meant. After some deliberation, she decided on one of them. "We already know we're in a place bridging Dimensions... and whatever 'XE-225' is, we can figure that out later. Choose Warning Beacons. That one seems to stand out the most, and I haven't heard anything about... whatever those are since we got here."

Jin reached out, and once again the keys appeared. He tapped the 5 key, and waited for a response.

Baki walked in quietly, standing at the other end of the table while looking around, clearly this wasn't the bathroom either... or was it?

Re: Door 2: Conference Room
As hundreds of semi-transparent lines of code filled what seemed to be the tabletop's invisible screen, the young man noticed he was not alone. It was a reassuring feeling to see another face in the otherwise empty halls, although Jin knew he was never truly alone.

"So I see you've found your way back! Did anyone else follow you out?"

As Jin turned away from the ever-growing lists of code to greet Baki, the Princess' form became barely visible above the screen, her ruby eyes scanning each line of code almost as quickly as it formed.

There has to be something., she said, quietly. This place is falling apart, and I'm going to figure out why.
