2. Active Ability (Draw Out) (15 SP)- Sacrificing a turn of attack, Gilgamesh releases the spirit of the Genji Katana.  The Shadow spreads over the field as a Shadowy Being projects itself from the sword.  All Gilgamesh's allies feel the Shadow press upon them.  Gilgamesh and his allies gain Regen and Haste (+3 HP every turn and +5 Evade) for three turns. (Provided by Genji Katana)

Ability: Swordsman's Focus (-20 SP)
Target: Kaim
Attack: Enkidu's Fury: 9*6 = 54
Evasion: (90 > 25, Fail)

The Sword Collector looked around as he appeared on a battlefield mostly unfamiliar to himself.  It appeared he was in a cavern, a place without spectators or possible interference.  Not like the ruins he had just been in, where anything could be hiding.  Then again, he had to wonder what was hidden in the recesses and crannies of this place.  Looking down, bubbling lava boiled and plopped.  The presence of the lava made him feel like very little could actually survive here.  In fact, it was a wonder he was not feeling drained from possible heat waves.  He decided he would start this battle off right.  No messing around this time, straight business… at least to start.  Tapping his leg, Gilgamesh summoned Enkidu up beside him.

“Old friend, we face a new enemy today.  If this place is any sort of omen, our opponent will also look like very little on the outside, but he could be as dangerous as the lava beneath us.”

Focusing, Gilgamesh searched for their opponent.  There!  Across a small flat area of the gray-looking rocks.

“There!  Enkidu, show him your fury!”

Without hesitating a moment more, the giant wolf let out a HOOOWWWWLLL, and the pitter-patter of his feet sounded across the cavern as he rushed at Kaim.

Kaim Argonar

HP Level 5: 180
SP Level 4: 50
Power Level 5: 5
Speed Level 3: 3

Passive Abilities:
Skill Link
Description: Whenever Kaim fights an opponent twice, he permanently learns an ability from that opponent.

Immortality
Description: When Kaim falls in a 2v2 battle, he will revive with 35 HP after three full turns.

Rolled 4: Sword Slash: 20 damage
Rolled 92: Evasion failed

Kaim walked slowly out onto the lava-filled battlefield. He was used to the heat from his past travels, but nothing quite like this. He wondered exactly why he was here, and what else he needed to do before he could move on. Then he saw the large beast leap at him. Kaim held out an arm to guard himself, but the fangs bit deep into his arm. With great effort, Kaim lunged past Endiku and swung his sword at Gilgamesh.

Rolled 41: Evasion failed

Kaim quickly followed up his strike with another slice of his sword, but winced as the pain from the bite of the beast caused his sword arm to falter slightly. He ignored it as best he could, but even he could still feel the sting of pain in combat.

Re: Brinstart Depths: Gilgamesh VS Kaim Argonar
Ability: Draw Out: Genji Katana (-15 SP)
Gain Haste (+5 Evasion) for three turns
Gain Regen (+3 HP) for three turns
Target: Self
Attack: None
Evasion: (73 > 25, Fail)

Kaim's ability to recover from Enkidu's rush and then immediately rush forward and attack him, caught Gilgamesh slightly off guard.  Gilgamesh did manage to move in time so that the blade mostly fell upon his Genji Armor, but he did give out a slight umph.  He was right, this opponent was not to be underestimated.

Landing a few feet away, Gilgamesh managed to keep his balance and keep from falling into the lava below.  Pulling out the Genji Katana, there was a pouring of smoke from his scabbard.  The smoke swept across the ground, and then it began to form and rise until the upper torso of a giant humanoid hung over the battlefield.  The Shadow was bound to the Genji Katana, and it expressed its frustration only briefly at being bound to the blade, Gilgamesh quickly asserting control to keep the spirit from escaping.  With a roar, the Shadow fell back to the battle field and purple lightning raced along Gilgamesh's form, filling him with power.

Gilgamesh rose, holding out one of his many hands and made a come-and-get-it motion to Kaim, "Let us dance!"

Kaim was a bit impressed by how flashy his opponent was, but he had seen a lot in a millennium of wandering and battling.  He knew that he could handle anything thrown at him.  Still moving with care and deliberation, the warrior slashed at Gilgamesh once more.  He wanted to take his opponent's measure to determine just how strong he was and how he fought.  The best way to defeat someone was to understand intrinsically everything about them.

Passives: Haste, Regen
Target: Kaim
Attack: Radioactive Shurikens 4*6 = 24
Evasion: (54 > 30 haste, Fail)

Gilgamesh sheathed the Genji Katana as Kaim at him once more.  Apparently, his opponent would not be easily cowed or made to fear.  As Kaim leaped toward him, Gilgamesh contorted himself and attempt to dodge... but failed.  However, as he did his contortion, Gilgamesh reached into the folds of his cloak and let loose a stream of radioactive shurikens.

"Meet my little friends!"

Re: Brinstart Depths: Gilgamesh VS Kaim Argonar
Passives: Haste, Regen
Target: Kaim
Attack: Sword of Time 8*6 = 48
Evasion: (19 < 30 haste, Success!)

The Sword Collector used the radioactive shurikens to give himself some space, and he leapt backwards to find himself backed up against a cliff to the lava below.  Whoa... that was close.  While his opponent had not yet done any real harm, Gilgamesh oddly found himself on the defensive.  Well, he had a cure for that.  It was time to try out his newest blade, the one he had obtained after he and Stickman and two others had slain the great beast in the ruins.

As Gilgamesh reached back into a sheath on his back, he withdrew the Sword of Time.  Time slowed to nearly a halt....

A song began to play in the distance, it was soft and subtle, but still oddly clear.  It was the sound of an ocarina.  At the same time, the glow of the lava below was matched with a glow from above the battlefield that Kaim and Gilgamesh battled upon.  The pale glow of a Triforce's mirage was beaming down onto the terrain, basking them both in a golden light.  Suddenly, the Triforce's light focuses unto Gilgamesh and the Sword Collector was "split into two" as the illusion of a faceless warrior dressed all in green appeared beside him.  The warrior dressed in green held a copy of the Sword of Time himself, and as Gilgamesh raised his blade so did the copy.  Grinning, Gilgamesh turns and looks back to Kaim.  Suddenly, both Gilgamesh and the Green Warrior rush forward simultaneously, swinging in a criss-cross slash to cause DEMOLISHING pain upon their opponent.

Re: Brinstart Depths: Gilgamesh VS Kaim Argonar
Evasion Fail

Kaim simply couldn't move or respond the way he was used to.  For some reason, this arena, this opponent had him on the ropes.  He was unable to retaliate.  With a grimace, the seasoned veteran dropped his sword and found himself battered and beaten by the powerful collector.  What strength!  If he had not been so out of sorts, Kaim would have had many appreciative things to say about Gilgamesh's collection and ferocity handling the blades.  As it was, Kaim could only grunt and accept the brutal attacks.

Re: Brinstart Depths: Gilgamesh VS Kaim Argonar
It is pretty rough for Kaim, I am probably due some 1s and 2s.

Passives: Haste, Regen
Item: Copper Shield Pin (+10 SP)
Active: Swordsman's Focus (-20 SP)
Target: Kaim
Attack: Sword of Time 5*6 = 30
Evasion: (44 > 30 haste, Fail)

As Gilgamesh and the Green Warrior swept past Kaim, Gilgamesh began focusing so as not to lose his edge.  He had the upperhand, and he knew it.  It was best not to lose it.  To give himself a burst of pride and spirit, the Sword Collector touched the copper shield pin that was pinned to the top right of his red, tattered cloak.  Then, in one smooth motion, Gilgamesh saluted the vanishing green warrior, sheathed the Sword of Time, and drew out his Genji Katana.  Black smoke poured around him and purple lightning crackled, as the Sword Collector literally double backed bringing the blade upward to hit Kaim from the other side now.

Re: Brinstart Depths: Gilgamesh VS Kaim Argonar
Rolled 5, 30
Raging Thrust: 25 DMG (Gilgamesh)
Evasion Failed

Such skill! Such power! The Genji Katana rent through Kaim's armor and inflicted a deep wound. He realized too late that his hesitation would most likely cost him the battle, though there was no regret to the thought. The Immortal Wanderer fell away from the dark blade, bringing his own around in a wide arc to push Gilgamesh away, before suddenly springing forward off his rear leg. Thrusting his blade forward, Kaim intended to impale the sword collector and inflict a grievous wound of his own. Even with his vision fading, the battlefield becoming little more than a darkening haze, Kaim's movements were calm, and flowed gracefully. Perhaps it was his immortality that gave him such a collected state of mind during battle, even with his body in jeopardy.

Gilgamesh could see that his opponent was weakening.  It was only a matter of time before he finally fell to the Sword Collector's relentless assault.  Withdrawing four blades, Gilgamesh lashed forward in a blurring motion of cutting metal, attempting to catch Kaim before the warrior could perhaps evade.

Re: Brinstart Depths: Gilgamesh VS Kaim Argonar
Rolled 11, 55
Ultimate Combo: 55 DMG (Gilgamesh)
Evasion Failed

Kaim stood firm, despite all the damage his body had endured.  He knew that this fight would not be the end of him, even if he lost.  Which was looking more and more likely.  His opponent was impossibly strong and skilled.  Even on his best day, Kaim doubted that he could keep up with Gilgamesh.  And today was not that day.

With a grim look, Kaim readied his weapon and charged at his foe.  He was not about to let the victory come easily.

With a primal scream, Kaim slashed back and forth with his weapon, targeting his foe's joints and vitals.  Not every strike would land, but Kaim was hoping that the sheer quantity of his attacks would be sufficient to slow his foe down.

Target: Kaim
Attack: Click Click BOOM! Radioactive Shuriken 4*6 = 24
Evasion: (22 < 25 Success)

Gilgamesh stumbled backward as Kaim suddenly assaulted him with a furious combination.  The Sword Collector could hardly believe this was the same warrior that he had been fighting the whole time, such was Kaim's fury.  However, Gilgamesh had the upper hand still, and he knew it.  Many of the blows connected, as Kaim pressed him, but the Genji Armor glowed with a sinister purple as it absorbed the blows, keeping Gilgamesh from being completely swamped by the aggression.

Still, Kaim managed to drive Gilgamesh to one knee.  Looking up at Kaim, Gilgamesh's white eyes narrowed, "Most impressive," however, I sense your end is near, Warrior."  Then, in a rush of a counter attack, Gilgamesh's hands began to move in a blur.  Shuriken, after shuriken, after shuriken was hurled out of the hidden folders of his tattered cloak.  That left trails of fire in the air, matching the blobs of lava bubbles below the two of them.

Kaim took the brutal blows, one after the other.  He was finished.  His opponent was too powerful, too fast.  One day, however, he would have his revenge.  He nodded slightly, acknowledging his opponent's prowess before he fell to the ground.  They would meet again.
