Evasion Fail

Guile snorted as Jin's rather weak attack hit home.  He could not tell if his opponent was capable of more or if that was as much as he could offer.  The young man moved well, that much was obvious.  But his skill could still be raw and untapped.  Guile decided to taunt a bit more.  It would either drive the boy away or cause him to fight his hardest.  The grizzled warrior hoped for the latter.

"Is that it?  I've sparred with boys in boot camp that can hit harder than you.  Why are you even here if this is all you have?  Go back to your mommy and hide behind her skirts while the men do the battling."  Hid words were accompanied by another quick jab at Jin's torso.  He didn't want to hurt to boy...unless he could handle it and fight back.

Upon hearing his ongoing taunts, the Princess was able to calm her rage substantially. She chuckled, realizing that Jin was the one being ridiculed, not herself. Oh, so it's fine if i'm being put down, but not you? I see how it is., Jin said. Annoyed, the Demon Hunter was eager to take another stab at her height issue. Did they have to build an extra set of stairs just for you to climb up to your throne, or did someone carry you like a baby?

Jin stopped dead in his tracks as Guile threw his second punch. Motionless, it seemed as if he would simply take the attack, but...

Dark Matter exploded from the young man's body in every direction, pushing the other away. With rage in his orange eyes, Jin leapt at Guile, a black orb of power forming behind his elbow as the Princess roared in anger. The orb exploded, giving the punch that was thrown just moments before a tremendous boost in power.

Jin found this new development funny. When incorporeal, the Princess would only be able to do so much to spite him for his jokes. However, in control of his body, she was positively destructive! Although, if not for the Nexus, he would worry much more about his own physical condition once her rage subsided. Jin silently thanked Manic and the inner workings of this place for allowing him this opportunity, and snickered as he thought of another joke. However, before he could open his mouth, the Princess caught wind of the simple thought, and her rage redoubled.

Another orb of Dark Matter coalesced in Jin's left hand, and his right arm now bore a black shell. Drawing back rather roughly on what appeared to be an invisible bow-and-arrow, the shells on Jin's arms began to crack and splinter at the fingertips under the immense pressure the Princess held in his grasp. As she set her sights on Guile, the tension suddenly reached a breaking point and the orb of Dark Matter raced toward him, intent on blowing the soldier off of Battlefield.

Meanwhile, in his mind, Jin fled from an increasingly angered Princess, laughing all the while. He had lost focus on the battle and didn't notice that the tips of the first two fingers of his right hand were missing, sheared away by the Princess' haphazard use of their powers. For a test she wanted, and unfortunately there still seemed to be some control issues the pair would have to sort out later - not totally unavoidable ones, either.

Attack: Roundhouse Kick: 20 DMG (Jin)
Evasion Failed

Guile was surprised by the boy's sudden, explosive increase in strength. He managed to block the few blows Jin threw at him with little effort, but they still stung. The soldier smiled, not breaking the flow of the battle one bit as he threw a blindingly fast roundhouse at Jin. The only thing Guile was unprepared for was the large, rather familiar-looking energy blast Jin sent his way. It almost reminded him of the students of Gen, who practiced the Shotokan style. He had toughed out many a Hadoken while he sparred Ryu and Ken, so today would be no different. Guile raised his muscular arms and braced himself, the energy blast singing the hair of his forearms as it exploded, sending him sliding almost to the edge of the platform. "Alright, kid, you've got my attention now!", Guile told his opponent, glad that he was starting to show his real power.

Now wary of the boy's hidden abilities, Guile approached him with caution, weaving left and right to avoid another sudden burst of power and keep Jin guessing. Closing the gap between himself and Jin quickly, Guile attacked with another strong punch, hoping to open up an opportunity for a more punishing attack.

The Princess was beginning to calm down, but the influence of the extreme amounts of Dark Matter she was creating wasn't helping. Sensing Guile growing wary of Jin's movements, the Princess used this slight delay in his advance to focus all of her overwhelming power into Jin's left hand. Snaking across his skin like ink, the Dark Matter began to form into a sphere, growing larger and larger by the second. As Guile's punch connected, the Princess let the sphere loose, and it exploded violently as it reached its target, taking much of the Princess' rage and energy with it. Jin momentarily dropped to one knee, his body reeling from the loss of such an intense force so quickly.

However, the Princess hastily picked the young man up, righting his vision as best she could, and kept her gaze on the clearing cloud of smoke and debris. She was satisfied with the boost in power she had gained but unimpressed with her still lowered control over it. Something was still missing. The finesse she had displayed in the past was still gone. Committing the need to regain that particular facet of her skills to memory, she turned her focus back to the battle at hand.

Guile winced at the pain of the blast the demon hunter sent at him, but it wasn't anything special. In fact, Guile had just the response ready for that. Crouched down low, Guile moved in quickly towards Jin and immediately flipped his upper torso backwards and launched himself into the air with a fierce spinning kick. As if that wasn't enough, Guile landed after the somersault and immediately went for another, a wave of energy coming out as he did the second strike.

It would be a stretch to say that the Princess was unprepared for what Guile was about to send her and Jin's way. In fact, she had almost expected the large man to have some sort of unnatural fighting ability. After all, it seemed like that was a staple here in the Nexus. Regardless, in her winded state, she was preoccupied with recuperating and restoring her energies - This left Jin wide open to the full power of Guile's signature move. The impact of his steel toed boots made a dull crack as they first broke through Jin's guard, and then hit him right in the head, sending the young man skyward as blood poured through a gash on his forehead. Only landing half as gracefully as she attempted to, the Princess managed to send some of her leftover power at Guile in the form of a weak telekenetic push.

The Princess was beginning to realize how difficult it was to simultaneously control her own volatile powers and Jin's body. If it had to be likened to something, it would probably be like trying to build a model ship while flying a plane. She groaned at the image of that and steadied her nerves. This made her realize that their teamwork may be an essential skill to their survival. She would never admit this, though. Jin could only watch as she went toe-to-toe with the soldier, hoping that his counterpart would come out on top. C'mon, shorty, give 'em hell..., the young man cheered, but the Princess didn't seem to notice.

Still bleeding profusely from the wound inflicted earlier, Jin's hair was a bloody mess. The Princess swept it out of his eyes and tried her best to keep his free hand steady. More blood trickled down Jin's face, making for a terrible image. Despite her apparent upper hand in the battle so far, the Princess felt that they were faring no better than their opponent.

With a grunt of effort, Jin rushed back into close range, leaping into a spinning side kick. The Princess could feel her strength returning, and was glad, because at the edge of her senses, she could feel that something was wrong. The evil presence she had felt only briefly before was back, and it mercilessly clawed at her mind.

"Looks like we'll have to cut this short!", she exclaimed, driving forward with the attack.

With a smirk, Guile advanced just as Jin did. The kid certainly had the abilities and the skill of many of the fighters he had faced over the years, but Guile knew he still lacked an important quality - and Jin was about to pay for it.

Guile ducked and Jin's kick flew harmlessly over his head. Rising into a powerful uppercut, Guile's fist stopped Jin dead in his tracks, and he finished the punishing combo by slamming the boy down onto his knee and throwing him aside.

"Don't assume you've won just because you landed a few good hits, kid. That's a rookie mistake!", Guile said, hoping his painful lesson worked.

The Princess collapsed, fighting for air as Jin was thrown aside. True, assuming anything in a battle with an opponent who you haven't faced before is dangerous. In fact, it was her own underestimation of her brother's power that had ultimately guaranteed his victory over her in the war. This memory brought another surge of anger and strength from deep within, and Jin rose, again pushing his blood-soaked hair out of his eyes.

Remind me to invest in a hair tie... or a hat., Jin joked, but the Princess didn't hear him. She took Guile's words to heart, and watched his movements. Not too calculated, but not the least bit unfocused, even with all the damage she must have done to him. Suddenly, she lunged, Jin's free hand coating itself in black armor as a spear hand drove toward Guile's throat.

Guile waited for the boy to get to his feet. No sense in attacking a downed enemy, especially this one. Though he knew a well-timed, fast combination of attacks would likely spell Jin's end, Guile didn't want to be on the other end of his lesson so soon. He opted instead for another kick in order to throw the boy off balance. He drove in with his heel this time, aiming for more pushing power rather than a hard strike with the steel toe of his boot.

Immediately after his first kick hit, Guile dropped that same leg and spun on his heel. To add to the pain of his previous attack, why not follow it up with another? Guile could feel fatigue beginning to set in, and he wasn't sure how much longer he would last, so he would have to wait for the perfect opportunity to launch a killing blow. This time, Guile's kick traveled right to left, the spinning motion adding to its destructive force. A blur of camouflage was all that heralded the attack as the soldier aimed for Jin's already bloodied head.

Again, the Princess had the wind knocked out of her by a powerful kick. She managed to stay on her feet, however, and when Guile moved in for a second attack, an armored arm was already raised to block. Just the pressure from their opponent's attack was almost enough to send Jin and the Princess flying, but she endured it and pushed Guile away, retaliating with a punch. The impact sent black sparks dancing through the air as Jin leaped onto one of the higher platforms, ready to finish the fight.

"Good punch, kid! But i'm not throwing the towel in yet!" That last attack had sent adrenaline surging through Guile's body, and his eyes were blazing, reflecting his fighting spirit. Guile jumped, following Jin through the air. Trails of smoke seemed to follow him as the soldier moved, and Guile stepped off the edge of the platform Jin was about to land on, using it to gain more momentum. At the same time, he flew into his signature spinning kick once, twice, three times. Crescent shaped bursts of energy followed each attack, and when Guile landed, he pulled both arms back, the same yellow force gathering in them.

Throwing his fists forward, a spiraling disc of light shot out, directly at the falling demon hunter, punctuated with a booming shout: "SONICBOOM!"

The Princess didn't expect Guile to have so much destructive power so late into their battle. She certainly didn't expect him to unleash it all at once. Already well into preparing what she believed would be the finishing blow, the Princess held onto the Dark Matter she had gathered with all she had as Guile's multiple attacks battered Jin's body. Had he simply been holding back this whole time?

The Sonic Boom Guile unleashed to end his vicious assault told her the answer was probably yes. There was a painful ringing in her ears as the energy smashed into Jin's left shoulder and sent him spinning through the air. Realizing they were about to go tumbling over the edge of the Battlefield, and with Jin's left hand all but useless, the Princess took aim at Guile as she and Jin fell. One final shot of Dark Matter fired at their opponent, as the blast carried the pair even further from the platform and down into the abyss.
