Jin was trying his best just to stay upright in the chaos of the battle that was unfolding. Agni's brutal attack wasn't the worst he'd ever felt, nor was that fire the hottest. His thoughts went briefly to the Burning Hell and the crazed woman they'd fought there. He looked to the demons and noticed through the improved vision provided by his demonic partner that they were weakening rapidly. A once strong glow that enveloped their bodies was slowly fading. Everyone was performing admirably, and even the newcomers were showing their best. Too focused on the battle and not himself, Jin failed to notice his own worsening condition.

His breathing heavy and shallow, the Princess noticed that Jin was now positively drenched with his own blood, and most of his clothing was burnt, some stuck to charred skin where Agni's flame hit the hardest. He must have been well into shock to not notice it. Cringing slightly, she sent a strong order straight into his mind, so he'd hear it clearly.

Host, you are an absolute mess. I'm releasing the Dark Matter i've created; Sit and let me tend to your wounds while the others finish these vermin off. Then, with a snort, she added, It looks like this time our foes beyond the door were nothing but worthless flies, just waiting to be swatted. Stumbling away from the group, Jin fell very abruptly into a sitting position, leaning on his arms and struggling to catch his breath. With a shaking hand, he wiped the sweat from his brow and looked again to the demons. The Princess was darting about, pulling lightly on the Dark Matter in his arms, trying to safely loosen it, and cursing about how easy this used to be. His eyes widened in awe as he watched. The glow that had once represented their vitality had moved to Agni's sword and was slowly increasing in size. The Princess didn't take notice, but Jin somehow understood what was happening. Scrambling to his feet, he nearly tripped over a discarded sword as he ran back toward the fray. The Princess wrinkled her nose in annoyance and flew after him, shouting. Jin had for the most part stopped listening, but he was also so weak that some of her words were simply lost to the ringing in his ears. Jin stopped just short of the group of fighters and took a deep breath, biting his lip. The somewhat dissipated Dark Matter in his arms began to reform, a very painful process adding to his already terrible status. Watching her host, The Princess was about to force him to stop until she glanced at their opponents. She cursed and turned back to Jin, preparing for the worst. If this attack didn't end them both before something very bad happened, she wasn't sure the group would survive what was coming. A small copper pin materialized in her hand and she tightened her grip around it, sending Jin its power.

As the aura around Agni and Rudra's blades grew and grew, Jin raised his arms at the demons and screamed in agony. The volatile power he held burst forth in an erratic pattern, snaking around and through the group of allies and surrounding Agni on all sides, intent on skewering, impaling and generally destroying the demon who seemed to avoid the others' attacks.

Re: Boss Battle: Agni and Rudra in the Firestorm Temple
Agni watched as his brother in blue went down to the fearsome fighters. He could stand this fight no more, even after his rage carried him through that fearsome attack on Jin. With quick deftness as Rudra fell, Agni swooped over to his fallen brother and grabbed the sword before it hit the ground and made a dash to the two pillars they once inhabited.

"Now, brother," Agni spoke as he interlocked the heads of the two blades, creating a double-edge, "Let's show these miscreants our true power!"

"Someone else has a pair of blades," Samanosuke said as Agni rushed with the fused weapon. It looked very similar to the Shippu, but Samanosuke knew the true power of the Shippu, and it seemed that blade paled in comparison. "I bet mine are better!" Samanosuke lunged at Agni again, brandishing the dual blades and swinging in a wide arc at the massive beast. With everyone combined now, they could take this creature out easily.

The strain on his body proved far too much for the Demon Hunter as he again fell to his knees. Cursing, he tried to rise, but was forced back by the Princess. Producing a small doll, an imitation of the Hell Witch they had faced before, she gave Jin a stern, but proud look. This time, you should listen when I give an order, host. Stay down and let your teammates handle our enemy. The chibi-Utsuho nodded in agreement, looking as insistent as the Princess. Even in his weakened state, Jin couldn't help but smile as the Princess clutched a doll almost as large as she was. He acknowledged his partner's order with a weak nod and dragged himself away from the fight as quickly as he could, blood trailing behind him. While she gathered the necessary strength to begin healing Jin's wounds, the Princess gave the last of her leftover destructive power to their Unyuho, which took to the battlefield, heading straight for the dual-wielding hulk. Comical warning klaxons blared as the tiny witch's Control Rod came to life. A tiny but intensely shining star was produced, and it grew to almost double the doll's size before she fired the blazing sun at Agni. Then, quickly switching directions, the doll flew up and over the other combatants, circling them a few times before dropping an egg into Ghost's hands.

Feeling a new surge of power a quick " Thank you!" bubble popped up above Stickman's head, before his attention was quickly drawn back to Agni, who seemed to have combined his power with his beaten brother.

Of course the powered up foe would instantly direct his new powers at the 2D fighter, how else could it have been? As he was struck by the twin blades, a large amount of ink was released from his body and splattered on the walls of the room.

Stickman himself just stood there for a moment, before he slowly rose one of his linear arms. Suddenly, without any kind of warning, large metal chains burst out of ink covered walls and wrapped themselves around Agni's arms and legs, immobilizing him for a few moments.

Mean while the remaining ink stains started to gather on various points, forming a uncountable number of lethal melee weapons all across the room. The blade edges all pointed towards the chained demon, like hunter waiting to jump their prey.

Stickman than brought his arm down and pointed towards Agni. Gate of Babylon On command hundreds of drawn swords, spears and axes of varying shapes and sizes rained down on his target to inflict some major damage until Agni would free himself from the chains.

Felix was unfazed when the two creatures combined.  He knew that the fight was yet to be won.  They would just have to keep up their pressure and not allow the demon any openings.  With a quick shrug to rotate his arms, the Adept sprinted towards his foe once more.  His sword felt like an extension of his body and he swung it with ease and dexterity.  He had never found moving quite so easy; he was surprised by the force of his attacks.  He was growing much stronger, that much was certain.  But would it be enough?  It seemed that this place always challenged them, pushed them to try harder and reach new heights.  Perhaps he was only partway on his journey here.  He gripped his sword tighter and slashed Agni's lower half.  He would keep up his pressure until he felled this opponent.  Then he would defeat all of them, everything thrown his way.  Only then could he hope to leave this place and return home to save his dying world.

Zigging and zagging, Gilgamesh moved so that Stickman's assault did not strike him as well.  Seeing all the shadowy-ink weapons soar toward the chain/bound demon, Gilgamesh decided to add his own flurry of fury to the strike.  Sheathing the Genji Katana, the Sword Collector let loose a torrent of throwing stars, still seeping radiaoctivity from Gilgamesh's time in the Blazing Hell.  The shurikens left small trails of fire as they flew toward Super Agni.

It was time to start taking care of some of these whelps, and what better way to do it than with his brother. Agni spun the twin blade around in his hands, causing a large whirlwind of fire to appear where he stood. Once the winds reached their upper limit and brushed against the tall ceiling of the temple, Agni thrust both arms ahead of him, causing the tempest to lash out at everyone in the arena.

As the tempest swept up, Gilgamesh's white eyes narrowed, and he held a hand up to shield his face, until he remembered he now had the Shield.  Raising the Shield, Gilgamesh protected his face from the worst of the fiery-blaze-tempest.  Though, his cloak did begin to become enflamed at the ends.  Gilgamesh used two of his other hands to pat out the fire while he tried to focus on his timing.  He could see Stickman out of the corner of his eye, and his new ally did not look too good, probably do to the attention he had drawn to himself with maneuvers like that dark chain of binding he had used earlier (as impressive as Gilgamesh had found it anyway).

As the tempest died down, Gilgamesh lowered his shield, and he threw a doll similar to the one that Jin had used earlier.  The Unyuho doll went soaring toward Super Agni, and in a tried a true physics phenomena, the doll went one way to explode upon Super Agni, while an egg appeared and went soaring the other way--the egg and its healing powers heading for Stickman.

While Gilgamesh had been focused on the tempest and Stickman, Enkidu slipped out of the shadows.  The Giant Wolf jumped up beside Gilgamesh.  Sucking in a large breath of air, Enkidu let out a loud HOOOOWWWWLLLLLL, creating a mini-shock wave that vibrated along the temple floor toward the dual wielding demon.

Slowly but surely recovering from his previous injuries, Jin had found the strength to stand. He got to his feet and looked to the newly-armed Agni just seconds before he began his attack. The whirlwind of fire rose and touched the ceiling, the force of the gusts generated from it enough to almost knock Jin to the floor again. He began to wonder if their attacks were having any effect at all, a huge turnaround from his previous view of the state of things. Even the Princess had to retract her statements about the pair of Demons they were facing. Jin looked to his allies. Each was still giving their all, but they were slowing down. There was bound to be little time before the dual-wielding monster before them showed his true power, and Jin wanted to be rid of him before that happened.

"Princess, can you do it?", Jin asked, hoping she understood. In response to his otherwise vague question, she appeared before him, gaze cast elsewhere. She looked somewhere between confused and embarrassed. No, it isn't ready yet. I was working on stabilizing it earlier, but got... sidetracked., she answered, and Jin responded in kind with a groan. The Lance of Nightfall would surely tip the scales in the group's favor, but in the pair's haste to test their power earlier, the Princess had abandoned the project to make it safer for extended use in battle, rather than keep it as unstable and explosive as it was.

Unfortunately, that meant forgoing its use now. With little more options, and a very large wall of fire headed his way, Jin dropped low and prepared for the worst. He ran straight at the oncoming wave, and managed to break through it, though not without more burns. The Princess worked to put out the fires destroying what remained of her host's clothing as he rushed at Agni, clenching his jaw against the pain as he willed his body onward. Leaping forward, Jin threw a kick as best he could, emulating EDGE-01's rider-kick technique.

The blast of wind sent EDGE-01 reeling, requiring the rescue android to use his thrusters to keep maintain balance and land on his feet. The opponent truly is a fearsome one, now possessing the combined might of both giants. The android knew he has to do something at this point.

Accessing buster protocols... Access granted.
Requesting for Code Sigma...
Evaluating situation...
Code Sigma approved.
Allocating energy for execution.

Both of EDGE-01's hands retracted into his arms, transforming into cannons that started accumulating energy. An azure glow surrounded the android as his armored plates opened up to reveal vents that assist in this accumulation process and maintain his internal temperature.

Target locked.
Possible movements predicted.
Executing Code Sigma.

The rescue android first brought forward his right arm cannon, unleashing what seems to be a random volley of rapid-fire shots at the powered up Agni's direction. The first set of shots missed their mark, followed by the rest of the shots landing squarely at the giant opposition's limbs and face. The rescue android unleashed the shot from his other arm at the same time the volley made contact. Bracing his left arm with his right hand, the android fired a massive beam of energy that traveled towards their foe. Agni was swallowed whole by the wave of plasma, nearly concealed save for his faint outline for the duration of the shot.

Vast amounts of steam burst forth from EDGE-01's body as he begins the process of rapid cooldown, allowing his body to restore its original temperature and continue to assist his allies in the fight.

The massive strength of the whirlwind released the demon from the iron grip of Stickman's chains. Not only that, but the multiple weapons have either been blown into a wall or were stuck in the in the wind. However, that didn't mean Stickman would simply abandon them.

Seeing the healing egg head to his way, Stickman quickly jumped to catch it, making it disappear in his pitch black body. Feeling new strength once again another "Thank you !" appeared above his head, before he would make sure to make up for being looked after like this.

After sprinting forward he managed to get hold of his chains, before he quickly swung them, causing them to wrap them around all the remaining weapons he had produced. By making one strong pull he released them from the wind and slashed the giant demon with mass of chained bladed weapons, before the wind blew him and his improvised weapon into a wall.

The whirlwind throws him back down, again. He gets up, pinching out fires here and there, then walks up to Agni again, noticing the new change, and kicks him, again.

Felix finally felt the attack and was buffeted back by the massive maelstrom of wind and fire.  He grunted and brushed off his cloak and gripped his sword tighter.  It would take much more than that to stop him.  Eyes glowing, the young Adept thrust his sword into the ground and called upon the power of gaia.  The floor trembled and shook, loosening a massive boulder from the corner of the room.  With a flick of his fingers, Felix sent the tonne flying towards their opponent.  He wanted to end this fight now.

It was time to put an end to all this non-sense.  One of the newer warriors to this realm distracted the demon.  As Agni turned his attention to The Batter, Gilgamesh drew out the Genji Katana.  Smoke poured from the scabbard, the sinister spirit struggling to break free.  However, this time the Sword Collector kept the power contained, instead of wielding it to enhance the physical prowess of himself and his allies.  He would turn the blade to harm, and purple lightning crackled along the blade as the contained spirit struggled in simmering anger at being shackled.

"Cease, I am the Swordmaster, not you Genji spirit."

The lighting continued to crackle, but the anger was suppressed.  All of this happened in the moments it took Gilgamesh to withdraw the blade, and rush forward, toward Agni's exposed flank, bringing the Genji weapon up on a cross slash, then using two of his other arms to reverse the cut and bring it back down the other direction.

With his former strength and vigor returning, Jin was all but ignorant of his wounds as he prepared for one final attack on Agni. After connecting with the flying kick, Jin dropped to the ground to avoid the sweeping motion of Agni's blue blade. Looking back, Gilgamesh was approaching fast, the Genji Katana drawn and radiating destructive force. Gathering what he could of any residual power of his partner's still floating about, the air of the temple began to shift; Lightly, a small whisper of wind here and there would flow toward Jin, drawing in otherwise invisible Dark Matter left over from previous attacks. As the energy collected in him, Jin coiled and then leapt over Gilgamesh as the Genji Katana swung upward, mere inches from where he stood before. Holding his hands out as he reached the apex of the acrobatic maneuver, the Princess quit her restorative efforts and pushed everything she had to Jin.

Now! TAKE HIM DOWN!, said the Demoness, and the power moving through Jin's body became visible as it collected in his outstretched hands. Jin watched Gilgamesh's deft maneuver in switching his grip on the evil blade, and as it descended, the Demon Hunter let his final attack loose. The force behind the projectile was enormous, and the backlash sent Jin flying.

Evasion: Failed

Using all the energy the young fighter had left he managed to dig himself out of the cold and hard wall he had been blown into. The fighter was starting to run dry, but so did the demon. Watching the veteran fighters going for the finish Stickman decided to join them. Suddenly the fighter had gotten a idea as he was reminded of the last time he had defeated a mighty foe. If he had been drawn with a actual mouth, he would probably be having a evil grin on his face right now.

Instead of using some kind of powerful or flashy finishing move Stickman formed balls made of ink in his hand and threw them. What had been different about his attack however, was the fact that he didn't directly aim at the demon, but aimed at it's feet instead. The black fluid would make sure that the giant wouldn't be standing on his two feet much longer, while also ensuring that he couldn't escape from the attacks of the others.

Suffice to say that EDGE-01's energy supply was considerably depleted after the attack, and the most he can muster now are melee combat techniques. He is still able to contribute to the fight nevertheless, chipping in at inflicting harm and weakening the empowered Agni in any way he can.
