Re: OCC Thread

Just posted the rules on skill improvement in the combat notes thread, will post more later on.

Going to take a survey from the group, I was thinking about keeping a running total visible in the game of everyone's life point scores.  Either start a life point thread or perhaps have everyone put it in their character profile like Daniel has done.  Everyone okay with this or would you rather your life score be kept secret from other players?

Re: OCC Thread

I have no issue with either/or.  Though it is convenient to keep track of it in case you forget over a long weekend and come back to a rough situation or the time between episodes.

I'm fine either way.  Besides, anyone who hurts Merry will just end up on The List anyway... ;)

Keeping it under the character's name seems like a good idea to me.

Re: OCC Thread

It matters little either way. Those of us with fast healing are generally 'back to full' by the time we get in the next fight anyway.

Re: OCC Thread

I've opted to create a life point chart since most of you are making use of your second biography line.

You'll see you have two sets of numbers, the first is your full life point score, the second is your current score.  Mike is the only one to have taken damage thus far, so his is the only one that looks different.

Mike is the only one here to have fast healing powers.  And since the town is deserted, you can't drop by the hospital and make up a story that you were attacked by a gang on PCP.  So the rest of us are dependant on each other for first aid, Annabelle and Graham have some Doctor skill which will help out some.

Re: OCC Thread

And that, for the record, is why you let me tank. I have more lp to start with, and I'm the only one who can heal easily :)

If bad things come, I'm on point unless RP dictates you're in a homicidal rampage :P

In other news, I might easily become aware of the vampires. I have sit awareness, and that will help. Also, the perception bonus for hearing things...like, say, battle. ;)

Re: OCC Thread

Well fast healing isn't really all that fast unless hours are just flying by.  So I wouldn't go as far as saying heal easily. Coupled with the fact that everyone heals easily with some drama point use.

I don't think the multiple attacker bonus counts for defense, but it does eat up the defender's defensive actions quickly so he can't defend attacks at all or attack too much.

Re: OCC Thread

You do get bonuses on defense for multiple opponents, it's not a 100% clear, but the book reads "when two or more attackers gang up against a single target , their actions gain a +1 bonus for each attacker, to a maxiumum of +4 (more than four attackers just get in each other's way).  It says "actions" as opposed to "attacks".

Mike and Daniel will be able to join in after this first round, their perception and notice plus any hearing bonuses are enough to get one success level before the dice is rolled, which is enough to hear the fight going on.

Re: OCC Thread

Thanks!  Glad you're enjoying it.

Everybody add two experience points to your total.

Merry, Graham, and Annabelle each get one heroic act DP for your vamp fighting this ep.

Sorry Daniel and Mike, no DPs for you this time since you both double teamed and took out one vamp without breaking a sweat.

That's fine. I probably could've taken both those guys singlehandedly, so I certainly don't deserve a point for doubleteaming them :P

Re: OCC Thread

This reminds me of the old # slayed threads the rpg tends to crop up.

Ah so we're using the original attribute cost as opposed to the revised, post Army of Darkness cost?

Re: OCC Thread

In the revised corebook which I have, attribute cost is a whopping five times per level, minimum of 15.  I think that's a bit expensive compared to the original corebook, so I'm sticking with the original costs.

At least I think I am, I no longer have the original book, and am going on memory. If anyone has the original book and wants to double check attribute costs, be my guest.

Re: OCC Thread

You're correct.  2x was the original unisystem general cost.  Either when the Army of Darkness' rpg came out or when Angel came out the official cost of attributes for cynematic unisystem games changed to x5.  Which sort of didn't make sense as you figure classic unisystem would have the more expensive cost with the more realistic focus.

That said, without a mad generous Director or somehow improving without actual exp spending there's no way that characters from either show would have advanced their attributes as quickly as shown in the episode summaries on their sheets using the x5 rule.  So I've never been fond of x5 either.

Edit:  Had it triple post on me odd.

Spent a half hour looking around for books, but I'd say an hour has passed altogether since the battle Michael was injured.  I've adjusted your life points to reflect an hour of vamp healing.

Re: OCC Thread

No problem.

Take your pick, you can attack a bringer in the living room or go after the two in the kitchen.

Bringers for everybody.
