Character Submission Guidelines

If you would like to submit characters for the game, read this section.

As noted in the game intro, this is a unisystem game, so to play you will need to own, have access to, or be familiar with the BTVS RPG corebook published by Eden.  I'm going by the revised corebook, but if you have the original, that's no big deal.

You may submit up to four characters.  You don't have to submit four, but I strongly suggest you submit more than one. The more you submit, the better your odds of getting in.    You don't have to submit them all at once, just keep adding them to the same RTJ thread rather than start a new one each time.

All new submissions must be teenagers (so if you don't like playing teenagers, you can stop reading here).  We have a mixed group of teens and adults in the cast, but the teenager count has dropped to one and we need more. The game currently takes place in London, so you either need to be a London native or have a legit reason to be there (foreign exchange student works fine).

Please submit character stats along with a brief description of your characters' history and personality. Repeat: Need to see character stats, until then you don't have a complete submission.

Here are the guidelines:

1) Read the other rules and follow them.  Characters that do not follow these guidelines will be automatically rejected.

2)Characters will use Hero or White Hat templates.

3)AGAIN, characters must be teenagers and either must be London natives or have a reason to currently be in London (foreign exchange student is fine).

4)Most things from the Buffy corebook and Slayer's handbook are fair game except the following (Sorry no Magic Box stuff, don't have that book):
*You can play a Slayer, but there are specials rules involving a modified Slayer package, consult me first if you want to submit a Slayer.
*No witches or warlocks (meaning no characters with sorcery, you can submit a character who knows how to cast spells though).
*No telepathy, empathy, and the Sight.  You know, plot spoiler powers. Also, no situational awareness.

5)The archtype characters listed in the Corebook and Slayer's handbook are eligible for consideration as long as they meet these other guidelines.  So depending on which one, it may be fine as is, need some adjustments, or be totally unsuitable.

6)If you want your character to have a package quality, you are limited to one.  So for example, if you want to play a slayer, you can't take the artist package since you've already taken the slayer package and so on.

7)No supermodels or pretty boys.  Maximum character attractiveness is +3.  Characters that look too perfect are a pet peeve of mine. Nobody in the main show cast had an attractiveness higher than +3 except Cordelia who was +4 and she was the hottest, most popular girl at Sunnydale High.  People with attractiveness +4 or +5 don't fall out of the sky like rain drops.

8)The above rules cover the high points, but I reserve the right to reject a character if it doesn't quite fit the game, is too power or too perfect (those types of characters are just boring and destabilize the game) is too similar to a character we already have, or presses one of my other pet peeve buttons.

Any questions, just ask.
