Re: Episode  1-2
With a bad feeling growing in his gut, Graham left the letter on the kitchen counter and followed Annabelle out the door. "The High School is this way," he said with a toss of his head as he passed Annabelle and headed down the street towards Sunnydale High.

Re: Episode  1-2
Daniel pointed in the direction behind Michael.  Considering how fast Michael could hoof it, he assumed the man could take care of himself.  Not that two on four evened the numbers game by a large amount.  "We might want to get out of dodge.  Unless you want to clean house first to thin their numbers.  But stragglers are starting to get through."

Re: Episode  1-2
"I'm coming." Annabelle shouts after Graham.

Then she stops and looks at the manhole cover in the middle of the street.

"Wait!  I thought I heard voices down there.  Help me with this cover, maybe it's the Slayer and her friends on the way back!" Annabelle shouts as she rushes over to the cover and starts to pull.

Re: Episode  1-2
Underground:

As Mike and Daniel look down the tunnel, they see the four ubervamps stop and wait.  Then they look back towards their buddies who are on their way.  Looks like they're smart enough to attack these two heroes in numbers.  It looks like at least ten more are coming.

But then Mike's enhanced vamp hearing picks up something, sounds like two voices, one female and one male coming from the vicinity of the spot he left Meredith.

OCC: More ubervamps on the way, the first four are waiting for their pals to catch up, then move in at once.  Right now they are five turns away from your current position.

Re: Episode  1-2
"Coming through the sewers? Buffy is totally going to be upset about this," Graham replied with shake of his head before jogging over to help lift up the manhole cover.  As the cover was lifted out and to the side, he looked down to see what the sunlight exposed in the sewers below.

Re: Episode  1-2
"Rrr. Can't take that many of 'em. Get out of here. We need a choke point so we can take them down one at a time."

A choke point...like, say, the manhole he just sent Merry up through. At least it was in the shade up there.

"Follow me."

And back to the path up. It's okay if they catch up, they can only climb up one at a time, and the guy who comes up first can be staked easily enough. And then they just got mowed down while they're trying to pull themselves up out of the manhole.

Re: Episode  1-2
Michael and Daniel follow Merry up ladder and out of the now open hole. They find a teenage girl and a guy holding the manhole cover.

The side of the street in back of them (Summers house side) is now covered in shade which extends about halfway across the street and the manhole.

Everyone can hear the sound of Turok-Hans growling coming from down the hole.  And it's getting closer.

OCC: Turok-Hans getting closer.  Half the street is now covered in shade, the other half still sunny.  So if they start coming out of the hole and you can throw or hit one onto the other side of the street, the sunlight will do the rest.

"Um, who are y'all? And what is that noise?" Graham asked while cocking his head to the side.  His bad feeling in his gut was getting worse. And these were definitely not the Slayer or any of her gang that he recognized.

Re: Episode  1-2
"Turok Han. Incoming. At least a dozen, maybe more. I'm going to try to stake them all as they come up the manhole cover. It should like an assembly line of stakings till they get smart enough to get past me. The key is not getting surrounded."

Mike takes up a position to where he can stake any turok han foolish enough to come up. And then prepare to stake the next couple running up after the first.

The growling gets louder, and then suddenly before anyone can blink one Turok-Han emerges halfway out of the hole.

Re: Episode  1-2
Annabelle looks over at the girl who came from underground. She looks familiar, but before Annabelle can ponder this, the monster emerges from the hole.

"Oh my God!!!  No!!!! Not one of them!!!!!!  Not again!!!!!" The look on Annabelle's face is pure undiluted terror.  But you don't have long to look as she turns and bolts back towards the Summers house and almost breaks down the front door to get back inside.

Re: Episode  1-2
The ubervamp is still about to climb out of the hole, he pauses for just a moment to watch the girl running away, then quickly glance around at the prey in front of him, deciding whose blood he wants first.

OCC: One Turok-Han coming up.  Since Michael was in ambush postion he gets to attack the ubervamp first.

Re: Episode  1-2
Mike, of course, was prepared for just such a thing to happen, and swiftly aims his stake at the poor fool's heart. The creature's howl of pain is cut off as he explodes to dust.

And if two more come up, he's ready for that too.  And they do, a second Turok-Han emerges and explodes to dust as the stake connects with his heart, followed by a third.

Then nothing.  The growling noise gets more distant.  Looks like seeding three of their own getting dusted so quickly has scared them off for now.

OCC: Turok-Han mob is leaving and heading back down the tunnel.  Good guys win this round.

Re: Episode  1-2
After Michael's success in routing the ubervamps from getting out, Daniel would purse his lips before putting his stake away.  "So...parking a car on that man hole's on the to do list now.  Yeah I think that goes without saying.  Anyways, ready man?"  Turning his head to the side he'd note that with two more living people around the grand total of those around not trying to eat him has gone up to four.  So almost a handful.  Wonder why she bolted...oh right hordes of the undead.  Not an ice breaker.

Re: Episode  1-2
Merry stood up and stretched, her nose wrinkling at the lingering smell of sewer and Turok-Han.  The vampires didn't smell bad per se, but threy smelled a lot.  She smiled as she saw the new stranger.  It seemed the apocalypse was wonderful for meeting cute boys!  Her eyes widened as she caught a glimpse of the girl who bolted.  Couldn't be...could it?  In this town?  Why the bloody hell not?

Merry gave Graham a quick grin.  "Meredith Crowley, delighted to meet you.  I've no doubt the pleasure's entirely yours.  If you'll excuse me, I think I just saw someone I know..."  Taking her leave before the Turok-Hans could make their way up out of the sewer, Merry Dashed towards the house the girl had run into.  She eased open the door and called out.  "Annabelle?  Is that you in there?"

Re: Episode  1-2
Merry gets no answer from the front door.  When she gets upstairs, she hears sobbing coming from one of the bedrooms closets.   When she opens it, she finds Annabelle sitting on the closet floor, her knees pressed to her chest, with her arms wrapped around her legs.

She recoils in fear as Merry opens the door, then relaxes just a bit when she realizes it's not one of the Turok-Hans.  Annabelle's eyes are red, she's done a lot of crying very quickly.  "Are.....are they gone?   Are the....are the monsters gone?."

"Nice to meet yo-," Graham started to say as the redhead turned and headed after Annabelle.  "Okaaaay," he said watching her enter the house.  "My name is Graham.  You all don't happen to know a short blonde by the name of Buffy?  Usually hangs out with a goofy guy, a nerdy girl and an annoying sister?"  Motioning to the dust around the manhole he adds, "It appears you share her affinity for stabbing things with sharp pointy sticks."

Re: Episode  1-2
"Annabelle!  YOu bloody cow!  It is you!  Whatever made you up and come to a Hellmouth?  You should hear the rumors they were spreading about you..."  As usual, if Merry noticed anything like PTSD, she simply plowed through it with single-minded surprise.  While Annabelle was a few years younger, their prep school had been insular, and everyone knew everyone.  It was actually quite surprising to find her there.  Especially red-eyed and puffy...from crying...

Merry finally noticed Annabelle's condition and knelt in the closet.  "You're positively a wreck my dear!  I don't know about gone from town, but I know the ones right in the neighborhood are thinking a right bit better just now, aren't they?  Damned primitive savages...at least normal vampires can be reasoned with!"

Re: Episode  1-2
Seeing as everyone else had run inside already and the vampiric allergy to sunlight wouldn't help him and Michael forever, Daniel began walking towards the Summers Home.  He heard Sunnydale was dangerous, they even said it was a hellmouth.  Sort of like Cleveland.  But this.  This was all out of the norm even for him.  "Well at least real estate is probably cheap."

Re: Episode  1-2
Annabelle listened as Merry's words sunk in.  She was safe from those horrid monsters for now.  And there she was, a total mess in front of one of her former school mates.  That wouldn't do at all. Even though she hadn't seen her in a few years, Annabelle had no trouble remembering the girl in front of her.  Merry was anything but forgettable.

Annabelle stood up and quickly wiped her eyes.  "Oh Merry, I know I look just beastly!" Annabelle said, referring less to her red eyes and more to the clothes she raided from Buffy's closet.  "This is the best I could find at the moment, my clothes are in the bathroom and all muddy.  We really must find the mall here, perhaps there's at leat one shop with clothes for proper British girls.  It's a long story, but I'll bring you up to speed on what I've been up to these past years. So what brings you here? And who are those boys with you? Are they your servants?"  Annabelle finishes matter of factly.

Mike, meanwhile, hangs out. In the SHADE, thank you very much.

"Hmmph. Doesn't seem like they're stupid enough to test their luck on my assembly line stakings anymore. Still, chokepoints like that are the best way to beat large numbers."

To the assembled.

"Name's Mike, by the way."

"Choke points often make good kill zones," Graham agreed.  "Nice to meet you Mike.  Looks like everyone else has gone inside.  I better check on Annabelle, seeing how she freaked out and all."

Graham moves toward the house and upon entering calls out, "Annabelle, you ok?"

Not seeing anyone on the first floor and hearing voices upstairs, Graham headed up to the landing and called out again, "Annabelle, you up here?  Our new friend Mike appears to have killed the vampires so I think it is safe to come out now."

Annabelle stepped out of the bedroom to see Graham.  "Over here.  I'm alright.   Sorry................I........lost it for a moment." she said cautiously.

Annabelle was internally debating what to tell these people.  She feared those Turok-Han creatures for a good reason, but now she surely must look weak to them for running like she did.

Re: Episode  1-2
"Yeah, it's safe, all the vampires are dead.  Except me." a voice at the bottom of the stairs says.

"And me.  Not so safe after all huh?"said another voice from the same vicinity.

Annabelle, Merry, and Graham look to see two vampires at the bottom of the stairway. Not Turok-Hans, regular vampires, if there is such a thing.

And they are both coming closer.

To be continued.
