Episode 1 X 4
In the Summers Kitchen:

Mike is the first to enter the kitchen.  He sees four people in the kitchen. All four wear black robes with hoods, they have pale white flesh, and there are peculiar symbols where there eyes should be.

All four pulls out large curved knives.

Meanwhile in the street in front of the Summers house:

Daniel puts on the brakes bringing the bus to a halt in front of the house.  He turns his head to see someone in a black robe and carrying a big knife sneaking towards the front door.

The figure turns at the sound of the bus arriving and changes direction, now heading towards the bus.  The girl with Daniel shouts "Oh no!  A bringer!!" as she ducks behind the seat.

OCC:Here we go.  To the combat thread.  four bringers in the kitchen, Mike has initiative on them. One out front coming towards Daniel on the bus, Daniel will have initiative if he rushes out to meet him.

Re: Episode 1 X 4
Out front:

Daniel turned his head to the frightened girl before calling out.  "What's a bringer?" His question would have to wait whilst the hooded man came slowly towards the door.  The man had seen enough horror movies to know the guy lumbering forth with the huge knife wasn't exactly on friendly terms.  "Wait here!"  The girl obviously knew something, which at the very least meant she wouldn't do something risky like jumping out of the bus.

Pulling the lever to swing the door open he would make his way out.  Sword clad in hand.  "You know in retrospect I could have just ran you over."  Of course that wouldn't have been quite as fun.  Daniel would waste no time, the moment the blind man came near enough he swung his elbow into the guy's jaw. Gripping his sword's hilt firmly as he readied himself for the ensuing assault. The man backed up a step, grunting in pain, but not saying anything.  He lunged forward with his large knife at Daniel who evaded the attack.  Amazingly, a lack of eyes didn't impair his accuracy.  He took a couple of steps forward to the bus open doors, apparently more interested in the bus than Daniel.

Mike, like all vampires, just didn't get tired. And bringers weren't all that dangerous to him, really. So he aimed vicious punches at two of them and they both dodged his attacks. Mike then presented a flawless defense for the same two, while the two he didn't try to whack circled around and made a run for the living room.

Reaching the living room, they encountered Merry, Graham, and Annabelle.  Both then rushed towards Annabelle, knives ready for action.

OCC: On to next round.  Two bringers in the kitchen fighting Mike, one outside with Daniel, two in the living room with the other three and both going for Annabelle. Heroes have initiative.

Re: Episode 1 X 4
Out front:

Spurred into action to keep his passenger safe, Daniel quickly moved to intercept the path of the Bringer.  Swinging down with his blade, he sliced his spry blind target, then made a follow-up with a thrust into the Bringer's chest.  It didn't matter if he really pierced the thing's heart as long as he managed to get its focus away from the bus.  Prepared to fend off any attacks without a moment's hesitation Daniel squared his body to defend himself.

But it did in fact pierce the heart, the bringer's grunt of pain from the first attack was cut off by the second, as he then collapsed to the ground.  Dead but not dusted.  Unfortunately, dead bringers leave a mess.

In the house:

"Oh crumbs, not these bloody freaks again!!  Watch out, they can see even though they dont' have eyes!!"she shouts to the rest just as she noticed they were both coming at her.

Wanting to stay alive, she focused on avoiding their big knives and managed to deftly dodge out of the way of the knives from both bringers.

"Are they...are you ignoring me?!  No one ignores a Crowley!"  Merry looked at the bringers, aghast and leapt forward, whipping her saber at the leading bringer with an angry growl before snapping back to deflect any counterattack.

The bringer grunted in pain then turned his attention to Merry as the other stayed on Annabelle.

Mike continues launching vicious punches at the bringers...with identiical levels of skill to the last time around and the bringers dodged yet again. He got frustrated this time, however, and his defense isn't anywhere near as flawless.
Both bringers took advantage, driving both of their knives into Mike's undead flesh.  Luckily for Mike, not as much of a problem since most of his vital organs aren't as necessary as they used to be.

Meanwhile, Graham having been upstairs, comes down in time to see the fight going on in the living room.

OCC:Next round.  Four points of damage to Mike.  Went ahead and resolved this round without Graham this time.  Daniel's bringer is dead, he's free to run inside and help if he wants.  Two in the living room, two in the kitchen.

Re: Episode 1 X 4
Pain, though relatively minor as it was, brings clarity, and he steps up his game, attacking with slightly greater skill as he punches the first bringer, knocking him onto the kitchen floor while the second manages to dodge him, and defending with greater skill as well but not enough to avoid another successful stab from the still standing bringer.

"Well this isn't going peachy at all."Annabelle said.  At least she only had to deal with one bringer at the moment, hopefully Graham would mount a successful attack and Daniel would get back soon.  Judging by the sound coming from the kitchen, Mike was otherwise occupied.  Once again Annabelle concentrated not being on the pointy end of the bringer knife and succeeded as she dodged out of the way of another stabbing attack aimed at her body.

Merry grinned as the Bringer seemed to focus his attention on her.  She threw back her head and gave her best haughty laugh (which, it must be said, was magnificent).  She whirled her saber into another withering riposte, sticking it into the bringers midsection, then jerked it back into a hurried parry.  "Come on then, love!  Show me your best and I'll show you the finest swordsmanship daddy could buy for my birthday!" But this bringer wouldn't be showing his best, since that last blow finished him off as he slumped to the floor.

Daniel turned his head around ignoring the corpse now laying on the lawn and poked his head into the bus.  "Listen don't let anyone in unless they're with me.  You'll be safe in here...I think.  Look I will be right back."  Daniel didn't wait for a response from the girl, he couldn't.  Rushing to the front door he would make his way back in.  Immediately calling out as he got inside to alert anyone that may be around.  "Honey, I'm home!"  The I Love Lucy joke was mostly to get the attention of anyone that shouldn't be expecting him.  IE Blind knife wielding nuts.

And that's exactly what he sees, two more of the bringers engaging Merry, Graham, and Annabelle, although it appears Merry just finished one off.  Daniel doesn't see Mike or other bringers but the noise coming from the kitchen gives him a good clue.

Coming out of the bathroom upstairs, Graham is greeted with the sounds of battle downstairs. "A guy can't even go to the restroom for five minutes around here without a fight breaking out. God I've missed Sunnydale," he mutters to himself as runs down the stairs. Drawing his combat knife, he jumps down behind the on on Annabelle and slashes into his back. The creature grunts in pain but doesn't scream as Graham's knife slashes his fleash. He then prepares himself for Mr. No Eyes' counter attack. The bringer then turns his attention to Graham but quickly sees his fallen partner and the fact he's now outnumbered four to one.  He glances in the direction of the door.

OCC:Next round.  Two points of damage to Mike, he only has one bringer to worry about this round, other one is slowly getting to his feet after shaking off Mike's punch.  One bringer left standing in the living room.

Re: Episode 1 X 4
Seeing the Bringer was distracted looking toward the door, Graham slashed out with his knife, trying to put it down quick.  But the silent fiend still had enough left in him to avoid Graham's attack.

Mike seems to be getting better the longer he fights the bringers.  This time, he aims his first punch at the Bringer still standing, landing a bonecrushing blow to the bringer's face. His followup at the one trying to get up is an easy hit, since he had a harder time defending. His defense was virtually perfect as the still standing bringer seems to be moving in slow motion as he rams his knife in Mike's direction, but only connects with the air.

"Good show Merry.  I'm so glad you decided to take those fencing lessons yourself rather than have your chambermaid take them in your place like you told me you were planning back in school." Seeing the remaining bringer was covered in the living room, she rushed to the kitchen to give Mike some help.  She opted to go after the bringer just getting to his feet and aimed a kick at him. It barely manages to connect, and likely only does since Mike's blow set him up.

"You know, I'd thought of having her do it, but the silly cow was right-handed.  And I can't have my servants representing me with the wrong hand!  Bloody lucky I didn't have it cut off to make her learn to be a lefty..."  Merry called back to Annabelle as she joined Graham in attacking the other Bring in the living room.  She slid a hand behind her back in a classic fencing stance, then lunged forward, whipping her saber back and forth to slash into the bringer.  That finished him as he dropped to the floor, still and unmoving.

Seeing as the pair of Merry and Graham had the Living Room fully covered, Daniel opted to follow suit when Anabelle rushed by towards the kitchen.  The sight of the two bringers immediately spurred him on to action.  Running forward, he jumped using the side of the fridge as a leverage point to assist the motion of his acrobatic display as he spun in the air with a kick that slammed into the rising Bringer's head aiding Annabelle, and sending him back to the ground, appaently for good as this bringer appeared to be pummeled to death.  Daniel then nimbly landed on his feet rather than land pathetically on the ground or through some kitchen furniture.  "I get the feeling everyone in town wants us dead."

Only one bringer was left standing now.  Knowing he was outnumbered, he made a dash for the rear kitchen door.  Then he froze in place as if he hit an invisible forcefield.  He was frozen for a second before falling over dead on his back, a huge bloody stab wound in his chest.

Standing in the doorway was the girl who Daniel rescued from the high school. She was holding a bloody bringer knife in her hand, which she retrieved from the bringer Daniel had finished out front.  She pauses for a moment, then looks up at the group.  "Uh, I think I got him.  Can I have a glass of water please?"

OCC: And this fight's a wrap.  All bringers dead.  But not dusted.  Time to cleanup the bodies.

Re: Episode 1 X 4
The girl had made a bit of a 180 from the terrified state she had been left in.  Daniel simply pointed at the fridge in response to her question before looking down at the dead body.  The fact that they were abandoning the Summers home sounded better when coupled with no cleanup duty.  But it didn't change that the bodies should probably at least be drug out to avoid piling up a stink in case someone ever needed to come back.  The last of anyone's concern would be police intervention it was obvious that enforcing the law wasn't a concern around this town.  At least not anymore.

"Well that was something.  So why is it these guys are called Bringers?"  He'd openly ask the room while reaching for the dead Bringer in front of him to toss him out the door.

"The Bringers, also known as the Harbingers.  They are the high priests of the First.  They are somehow able to see despite being blind.  And as of late, their mission has been to kill all Slayers in training and their watchers, which is why they were going after me." Annabelle says, keeping her eyes on the newly arrived girl.  She finished off that last bringer with little trouble.  Annabelle then watches as Daniel begins the process of disposing of the bringer bodies.  Well, I hope they don't expect me to help with that, and I doubt Merry will either.  Carrying heavy packages, digging holes, dispoing of dead bodies: that's what boys are for.  Like my mum always says, she thinks to herself.

"You know, corpses are supposed to make such wonderful mulch for an herb garden...don't look at me like that!  I only heard about it!"  Merry mused as she watched the boys going about the properly manly (and plebeian) task of body disposal.  It was a fleeting reminder of home...a notion that probably should've been a little wrong, but not to Merry.  Instead, she marched herself over to the new girl and gave her a patented Meredith Crowley once-over; her unique method of using a person's looks, wardrobe and speech to decide just how unworthy they were of being in her social circle.  "And who might you be, my dear?  It's becoming a bit of a ghost town around here, though I daresay most ghosts I've met don't ask for a glass of water.  Instead, it's all doom and gloom and 'oh, your cousin Nigel sacrificed me to a Great Old One...'"

The girl headed to the sink, grabbed the nearest empty glass, filled it up from the faucet, and downed the whole glass quickly.  She was suddenly nervous at Merry's question, clearly looking uncomfortable despite the fact that she just finished off a bringer.  Her clothes were plain and uninspired to say the least.  She made Annabelle's borrowed wardrobe look fashion show worthy by comparison.  "Well uh, you know, my name is.Jennifer.  I came here from Florida to escape those....uh, those bringer guys and um, you know, take part in the final battle.  And I'm a Slayer now.  And I guess you know, I'm the only survivor."

Annabelle's eyes widened enough to pop out of her head at the new girl's declaration.  "THE SLAYER??!! You're the Slayer?!  How long have you had your powers?!  How long has Buffy been dead?!  Were you a Slayer in training?!  And why the bloody hell did it take you so long to get here??!!"Annabelle said without stopping to catch her breath.

Re: Episode 1 X 4
"Well uh, you see...............I didn't know there was a Slayer dress code...........I um.............." Jennifer said very nervously, clearly off balance from the doubleteaming of the two British girls.  "You see, Buffy didn't die for me to become the new Slayer.  Her friend Willow is a witch......I mean was a witch.....and she cast a magic spell that turned all us Slayers in training into Slayers.  But it still wasn't enough to beat  the army of ubervamps.  But there was this guy Spike on our team who wore this amulet that started glowing and then it destroyed most of the ubervamp army and banished the First Evil to another dimension."

She refills her water glass, and sits down in the nearest chair before going on."None of the good guys got out alive except me and another new slayer named Lindsay.  We made it out of the underground cave and split up once we reached the surface in the high school.   Have any of you seen her?"She describes Lindsay in detail.  It perfectly matches the description of the dead girl Mike found in the gym.

"I found her just before she died. It was too late to save her. She's gone. You're the last...except for those Slayers who may have been activated elsewhere in the world. It looks like that 'there is ONE chosen one' thing is back in force. Sort of. I'm not sure how many Slayers there are outside of Sunnydale."

Yet more weirdness...Mike wanted to save her, despite his Vamp senses telling him damn well she was a Slayer. The scent of that kind of blood is unique, after all.

Jennifer says standing up and going to get another glass of water.  "I hope we find some other Slayers soon, hopefully more experienced Slayers.  You're not going to find anymore here, Lindsay and I were the only two on Buffy's team who made it to the surface.   Well, you'll be happy to know we don't have to worry about the First Evil anymore or most of the ubervamp army.  But there's still a crowd of survivors in the high school who made it to the surface like I did.  And once the sun goes down, they'll have the run of the streets, so I give two thumbs up to the get out of town plan." she finishes as she chugs down another glass of water.

Annabelle raises her eyebrows, but othewise keeps composed at Mike's suggestion of confronting the Turok-Hans up close.  "Wouldn't it be a better idea to just torch the high school and them in it?  Mr. Giles told us a story how Buffy had a gynmasium full of vampires to deal with at her old high school, and she solved it by burning down the gym with them in it.  Of course it got her sacked from that school, but since no one here is in that school, it's not a problem."

All the while, she never takes her eyes of Jennifer.  "Well, well well.  It appears every Slayer in training got promoted to full Slayerhood.  Except those of us who were comatose and buried in the ground at the time, no matter how much time we spent training, only to get passed over for some neophyte who barely knows what a Slayer is. she finished through clenched teeth as she took a couple of steps closer to the new Slayer.  "So what I'd like to know now is how Buffy managed to gather such an army of Slayers in training in such a short period of time.

Graham grabbed the last of the bringer bodies in the front of the house and pulled it back towards the kitchen.  So much for experienced help, if this Jennifer's intel could be trusted.  The Slayer, Witch, Watcher and other others were all dead.  And 50 some Ubervamps left standing.

Throwing the body on the pile outside the door, he turned to follow Daniel back into the house.  Speaking up when he returned to the kitchen with the rest of the group, he jerks his thumb toward Mike's position in the shadows of the fridge. "Michael makes a good point that they will most likely be disorganized and easier to kill now.  However, without supplies and some medical attention, we won't last very long against them."  Turning to Lindsay, he asks, "Do you know of any other supply depots used by this Slayer army?  Food, weapons, medical supplies, occult research?  We could use any of those items whether we stay or leave."

She then turned to Annabelle, patting her arm reassuringly.  "There there Annabelle.  Stiff upper lip.  Being some state of undead is nearly fashionable these days!  We just have to figure out what sort you are.  If you manage to develop any super-strength, you can always grab the Slayer by the ankles and use her as a club.  It's the most likely way she'll actually contribute anything after all."

"Ha.  Ha Ha Ha.  So I guess it is May.  I thought something was wrong when it was far too warm outside along with the lack of Christmas decorations for this time of year!"Annabelle begins to laugh.  And not lightly.  More like the kind of laugh you hear while touring an insane asylum.  It's downright creepy.

She starts smelling herself.  "I smell too nice and look too pretty to be a zombie!!  Vampire perhaps?!  Let's find out!!"

Annabelle dashes to the living room and out the front door, running out into the street until she's under the rays of the sun, waiting to see if she bursts into flame.

Jennifer follows Graham's lead and accompanies him to the base of the stairs.  She mouths a barely audible "Thank you" before following his advice and heading up the stairs to clean herself up.

Meanwhile outside:

Annabelle stands out in the sunny side of the street.  And doesn't burst into flame.  Scratch vampire off the list.

Merry sighed and rolled her eyes at Annabelle's hysterics.  When she didn't burst into flames, Merry shouted out the door.  "If you're quite done tanning--which you do need, dreadfully, my dear--then can you come back in and help us finish gathering everything to get out of this middle-class nightmare of a hovel?"  She then turned to Mike and Daniel. "Boys, would you both be lambs for me and start moving all of these useful but dreadfully heavy boxes into that bus so we can shortly be on our way?"

"Not a vampire.  So what the bloody hell is going on here?" she says, thinking out loud. She punches herself in the arm.  Then starts cackling with laughter again.  "Not a ghost either!  I can touch myself!"

Annabelle tried to pull her thoughts together.  Did all dead Slayers in training come back as a side effect of the spell? She vaguely recalled another grave next to hers when she crawled out.  One way to find out."Back in a minute.  Have to go check out a grave!"  Annabelle shouted back at Merry. as she took off running again, this time to the spot where she crawled out of the ground.

Annabelle returns to the spot from where she crawled out of the ground.

Next to her former grave, there is a still covered undisturbed grave.  She is the only dead Slayer in training up and about.

Annabelle stares at her open grave and the still covered one for several minutes.  "I am the only one who came back from the dead.  My watcher always said there are no guarantees or warranties where magic is concerned."

She stares some more, running all this through her head, then finally;"Right then.  Not looking this gift horse in the mouth."

She heads back in the direction of the Summers house, now far more composed.

Daniel manages to get the bus close to the porch, and with the back door open, the guys manage to get everything that has been packed onto the bus in a few minutes.

Everyone sees Annabelle walking back down the street in the direction of the Summers house, looking considerably more calm than she was earlier.

Glancing around to see that Daniel and Michael had everything else in hand, Graham looks at their 'supervisor.'"Let me go check on our friend upstairs.  Merry, do you mind seeing how Annabelle is?" Graham asked with a nod in the direction of the returning Slayer-in-training.  "We need to get out of here sooner rather than later."

Heading upstairs, Graham calls out, "Jennifer? You ready to leave?"

"I'm assuming now's not the time to hum the theme to the magic school bus?"  Daniel copped out as Anabelle came back into view.  His attention strayed back onto the literature they were hauling.  He was as well read as the next guy, but didn't think they were exactly the crowd to be doing heavy reading in the future.

"I have decided not to go insane."  she said to Merry as she approached.

"The other grave is still undisturbed.  Apparently I was the only dead Slayer in training brought back to life.  You know what they say about looking the gift horse in the mouth.  Did I ever tell you about my Great Aunt Agatha?  She got a pony for her sixteenth birthday.  When she decided to examine the pony's teeth, he bit her.  Since then my family has taken that expression very seriously.

Reaching the landing at the top of the stairs, Graham calls out again, "Jennifer, everything okay?" Hearing no answer he moves towards the hall bath room, saying, "Jennifer, we need to leave. The bus is loaded and sundown is approaching.  You alright?" he asks while knocking lightly on the bathroom door.

Graham opens the bathroom door to find no one inside.  He looks for her in Buffy's bedroom and finds a breeze coming from the now open window.  On the window ledge he finds a sneaker foot print.

The new Slayer has bailed on them.

Annabelle continues her path back to the Summers yard and into the house to find Daniel and Mike.  "Well now, are we heading straight out of here, or are we going to stop off at the school and torch it with the Turok-Hans inside?  It should not be difficult to procure supplies, we just need ample amounts of petrol and a good stick match."

"If we're going to torch the school, we should do some prepwork. If we torch the school during the day, we'll want to seal off the school's entrances to the underground. If they can't get underground...they'll either die in the fire, or die in the sun. It really doesn't matter which. If it takes till tomorrow to light it up, that's fine."

Best to do this right, after all.

Seeing the open window, Graham bashes his fist into the window still with a snarled, "Damn it!". He pokes his head the window to see if he can spot the on the run Slayer.

22:40, Today: Graham Miller rolled 16 using 1d10+6. Looking for Jennifer.

Graham manages to spot Jennifer running down the street very quickly, she's putting her newly acquired Slayer speed to good use.  He sees her for about three seconds before she's out of his range of sight, no way to catch her now.

Annabelle bites her tongue, she want no part of being face to face with a Turok-Han, but isn't about to say it out loud after less than perfect reaction to seeing one earlier.

"I thought the idea was for us to get out of here before sundown. If we're going to torch the school, we need to do it quickly and leave. If we wait until tomorrow, they won't be in the school, they will be everywhere. When the sun sets, they will have the run of the neighborhood.  Turok-Hans are not like other vampires, they are not bound by the invitation rule, when the sun comes up tomorrow, they can hide from it anywhere they please.she finished looking in direction of the stairs, waiting for Graham to come back with the "new slayer."

Annabelle goes pale after hearing Graham's news.  Anyone expecting her to make a snide remark at the new Slayer's departure will be surprised.  "Good lord!  She's probably walking into a trap!  Which way did she go?!"

Annabelle rushes to the front door, waiting for Graham to tell what direction the girl ran. She glances at Mike for a second, then back and forth to everyone else.
"Does anyone here have a super sense of smell who is not in danger of bursting into flame?!"

"She was headed that direction," Graham says, pointing after the Slayer.  "I think someone needs to at least trail her.  Just to make sure she does not get into trouble.  As the Slayer, or is it a Slayer, well however you conjugate it, we probably need her help with the school."

Looking around at the others, he continues, "I will go after her if someone wants to come with me. Here," Graham pulls out a small notepad and pen from one of his pockets, quickly jotting down a number and address. He tears the paper out of the notebook and holds it out to Daniel. "Here go to that address and we will meet up with you there.  That's my cell phone number in case of trouble."

Turning to Annabelle, "You want to go after our Stray-er?"

"Bloody hell.  You should've listened to me, tied her up and let one of the other boys swing her about as a bloody club...useless Chosen One...if that's what gets Chosen these days, count me out!"  Merry fumed at the news and glared balefully through the wall, possibly trying to will their runaway Slayer dead herself before someone else got the pleasure.  "So long as we stay where it's sunny, I hardly think we need her to help us light a building on fire.  My uncle Algernon did 40 years for exactly that without a single supernatural ability!"

Annabelle does not hear Graham, because when he looks up at her he sees an empty space, followed by an open front door, and the sight of Annabelle already down the front pathway and turning down the street in the direction he pointed.

"Jennifer!!  Come back here now!  You're walking into a trap!!"" she shouts, running as fast as she can, trying to catch up with the new Slayer, hoping Jennifer will hear her and come back.

Annabelle catches up to Jennifer a few moments later when she sees Jennifer lying out in the middle of the street where the sun is still shining down.

As she slows down and gets closer, she sees two all too familiar puncture wounds on her neck.  A check of her life signs indicate the new Slayer is dead.

Killed by a vampire under the rays of the sun.

To Be Continued.
