Re: Episode 1 -5
Mike shook his head. He wasn't even hostile to these two till they attacked him, but such was the path of the soulless. He had bigger fish to fry, and he would've let them go in his haste to kill the Turok Han, but they forced the issue.

Meanwhile, there's enough flammable stuff to get a good fire going. But he could only wonder how his allies were doing.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Then Michael had to pause for a moment to listen to the sound coming above ground.

Sirens. Police? No wait, fire trucks!!  Yes that was the distinctive horn of a fire truck he heard.  Not only is the fire department still in town, but sounds like they intend to put a stop to the group's flaming Turok-Han purge.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Mike hadn't expected that. Still, if the authorities had seen fit to get involved, it meant his mortal friends were most likely in the custody of authority...and he was on his own, for he couldn't do a thing about it till nightfall. And that would be several hours. At any rate, he'd still sealed the underground entrance to the school, and the Turok Han's mobility would at least be compromised.

Of course, if the firefighters went in after the Turok Han on a 'rescue mission', they'd likely get themselves eaten. But it was too late to do anything about that...

Or was it?

Re: Episode 1 -5
Underground:

Michael pondered his options. The manhole cover he was dropped off at was covered by shade, so he could get back to the surface that way.  But getting to into the high school would be a problem.  There was a side entrance to the school several yards from his original entrance point.  But the sun was still shining down there.   If he jumped far enough, he might make it to the side entrance with minimal sun exposure.

Sirens were getting louder, fire department would be here soon.

OCC: If Michael wants to get inside the school, he needs to make a dexterity plus acrobatics roll to see how far he can jump to the side entracne.  If he gets at least four success levels, he succeeds and only take 2 points of sun damage. Failure means he didn't jump far enough and had to run the rest of the way, taking 20 points of sun damage.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Annabelle casually reared her arm back holding the pertrol can as she hurled it at the cop intending to knock his gun out of his hand.  Her throw failed miserably, coming nowhere close.  She was ready to dive for cover if he opened fire but he did not.

The cop holstered his pistol and pulled out his baton as he stepped towards Annabelle.  "Watch him."he shouts to his partner who still has his gun on Graham.

"Well, well well.  Throwing flammable liquid containers at officers of the law.  You need to learn to learn to respect authority girl."he says to Annabelle, smiling as he taps his baton in the other hand.

OCC: Cop with baton coming at Annabelel, second cop still has his gun on Graham.

Mike was a being of fearlessness and strength. In his spare time, he could make Michael Jordan envious.

He takes a FLYING leap! And lands with barely a ray or two of sunlight hitting him before he's in the school!

06:43, Today: Michael Smith rolled 17 using 1d10+12. I believe I can fly... (I forget how many success levels that is, but it's more then 4...)

Re: Episode 1 -5
Front of the school:

Three fire trucks now pull up to the school as the confrontation continues.

Seeing the cop move toward Annabelle, Graham focused on the one holding a gun on him.  Waiting for a moment when the second cop was distracted by the man vs. Slayerette action, Graham rushed toward him, swinging his heavy duty flashlight dissarming the cop. The gun goes flying across the parking lot.

Annabelle steps back, not attacking the cop, just focusing on evading his attack as she tries to reason with him. She couldn't help but notice the sirens coming closer as the fire trucks came into sight.

"Oh God, the fire brigade is here too?!  You're sending them to their deaths!!  The school is overrun with vampires!!  And when the sun sets, they'll come out and kill us all!!  You've got to let this place burn!!!"she screams at the top of her lungs.

"Vampires?!  Okay, you kids are on drugs!  Let's cuff em' and get them into the car!"he shouts to his partner and misses with his baton swing at Annabelle's midsection.

The second cop, now deprived of his pistol, pulls out his baton and steps towards Graham.

OCC:Back to the combat thread for these two, one cop each attacking them, each armed with a baton, heroes have initiative.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Side of the school:

Mike successfully lands in front of the side entrance and quickly opens the unlocked door, taking only a little sun damage as his flesh steams for just a second.

Now to safely make it to the front entrance where the firemen will no doubt come in.  It's quite a few turns to get to the front, and what Mike encounters is in the hands of luck and chance.  Depending on where the ubervamps are congregating, he could run into none or an army of them.

OCC: Yep, five levels actually.  Only two points of sun damage to Mike.

(OOC:As I recall, stealth rolls can be done with acrobatics or crime...or both!)

Mike carefully moved forward, stealthily, the whole time. He didn't want to be seen by any uber vamps or any firemen. He'd have to deal with incoming on his own.

Inside:

Mike manages to make it to the front entrance of the school without incident.  He had to sneak past a few Turok-Hans, but his stealthy ninja skills combined with them not being the sharpest tools in the shed made it relatively simple.

He could hear the firemen outside, getting hoses and other gear ready.  They should be coming in any minute.

OCC: Out front

"I am not on drugs!"Annabelle shouted.  Clearly this imbecile couldn't be reasoned with.  She nailed a high kick at the cop's chest and then evaded his attack.
"Hey!  We'll just add assaulting a police officer to the charges druggie!!" shouted the first cop as he came toward her again.

Meanwhile, Graham and the second cop circle each other, Graham armed with his large flashlight, the cop with his own baton.

OCC: Back to the combat thread, both cops still up.  Lihwa can join in if she wants.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Inside:

Mike watched as powerful bursts of water hit the recently set fire blocking the front entrance.  It would be out soon and the firement would then likely come charging in.

Then Mike's sensitive ears pick up the growling noise coming at him from behind.  He turns to see a Turok-Han coming towards him.  Just one luckily.  But even one is now pushover.

OCC:Combat thread time for Mike, one ubervamp coming his way.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Inside:

Sometimes, Turok Han were no pushover. Other times...

Pushovers is EXACTLY what they were. Launching a devastating one two combo, he followed it up with a most deadly staking. And any counter attacks it tried were utterly useless.  The ubervamp exploded into dust before it could growl in pain from Mike's punches.

Meanwhile, the fire at the doorway is just about out.

OCC: Mike is alone for now.  No more ubervamps have shown up.  That was impressive.  Next you'll probably roll a pair of 1s when you really don't need them.

Re: Episode 1 -5
Out Front:

Clearly the local constabulary was not going to be reasonable. Best to finish this quickly and get out of here.  Annabelle looked below the officer's belt for half a second as she pondered her next (and decidedly unladylike) move.

"Thank God my mother isn't here to see this."she said as she drilled her fist at the cop's groin area. He let out a scream that would wake the neighborhood, then keeled over in a fetal postion, holding his groin area and moaning pain.

Deciding to move things along as quickly as possible (and avoid in more witnesses), Graham streaked in towards the cop with the baton, using his left hand to uppercut the cop and swinging his heavy flashlight in his right to parry the cop's baton.  "Say goodnight Gracie," he said, knocking out the cop so he could help Annabelle.

The second cop hit the ground unconcious, Graham turns to see that the other one was on the ground in pain.

The firemen were too busy fighting the fire to notice all this.

OCC:Both cops are out of the fight.

Annabelle ran over to the nearest fireman.  "Wait!  You can't go in there!  There's...............a gang..........on drugs................with lots of guns!!!  They're hiding inside!!  You're going to your deaths!"

She points to the two downed cops.  "Look the gang has already assualted those two officers!  They need medical attention!  You need to get more police here! "

Annabelle Berkshire rolled 18 using 1d10+9. Persuade firemen not to go in.

Seeing Annabelle was stopping the firemen, Graham looks around to see if he could see the cop's car and possibly the rest of their friends.  However, the glare from the fire engine lights and that of the burning school almost blinded him.

Re: Episode 1 -5
With the fire at the front entrance now put out, the firemen now turn their attention to Annabelle.  "I think she's serious.  Let's get the fires out in the entranceways, then check with the police before we go further." Just then the fireman's walkie talkie makes a noise: "We've traced the smoke coming from the gym area, someone set a fire in the underground tunnel, it's out now."

The fireman answers as another cop walks up.  "This girl says there's a gang inside with drugs and guns."

The cop responds; "She's right.  We've caught two of them and they're on the way back to the station.  We're searching that bus right now." he says pointing to the school bus the group came in.  "Looks like they were about to leave town in it.  Lots of supplies.  No drugs found yet, but we found some pretty creepy old occult books.  I think they're a gang of satan worshippers.

Meanwhile Graham looks around, but doesn't make much progress do to the blinding lights.  But he's close enough to the police car of the two cops they just subdued to notice the keys are still in it.

"Oh my God!  There's two officers down just like she said!"the fireman said pointing to the two downed cops.

The cop runs over and looks at the two unconcious cops.  "Okay, nobody goes in until we get back up." He points to Graham and Annabelle.  "You kids don't go anywhere.  We're going to have questions for you."

Annabelle grabs Graham by the arm and pulls him through the front entrance and into the school building, out of range of police and fire earshot.  "We need to leave now and the bus is compromised.  Can you drive a police car?  If we are subtle, I think we can slip out of here in one.  Then we need to find Michael who could be anywhere now................she stops as she sees Mike a few yards away, covered in ubervamp dust.  "Oh, there he is!  We finally caught a break today!"

Mike, however, took note of the situation...and realized he was best off not being seen by authorities. Even if his friends saw him, he didn't want to be brought outside. Brought outside...in to the big sunny sun.

Using his natural stealth, he vanished back into the school.

Annabelle watched Mike move out of view of the authorities and followed him.  "We need to get out of here and get you out of here as well without you burning to ash.  The police are................wait a minute, what are the police doing here?  The town is deserted, shouldn't they have left too?  I know you do some strange things in America, but this is a bit peculiar."

"They're emergency personel. They're expected to go into dangerous situations like a nearly destroyed city. I wouldn't be surprised if the President of the United States puts in an appearance, as this is now an official disaster area."

Meanwhile, Mike keeps moving. He doesn't want to be brought into the harsh light of day, and the fact that he'd sealed the underground now looks fairly foolish.

The heroes' conversation is cut off as they hear the sound of heavy doors slamming followed by the sound of heavy chains rattling and clinking.  Somebody is locking up the school.  With them inside with the ubervamps.

OCC: Front entrance now locked up, no one will be coming or going that way.  Mike could try to break it down if they want to get out that way, but there is that pesky sun still out.  Other ways out of the school are still available, but there could be ubervamps between you and them.

Annbelle quickly surmised the situation, that they were locked in a building with dozens of Turok-Hans.

"They've locked us in!  With all those indestructible monsters!"

She charged towards the front doors, crashing into them in a futile attempt to break them down.  "Let us out!  Let us out!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.  "We're going to die!" she screamed.

Then she fainted dead away and crashed to the floor.

Now Mike had even more problems. Bad enough trying to save an innocent when she awake and healthy.

Now he has to do it when she's unconscious. He severely regrets sealing off the underground. Still, he might be able to save Anna the hard way in a pinch...if he breaks a window and pushes her through, she'll be safe in sunlight.

...Safe in sunlight. This could be his last stand, if he must face a horde without a chokepoint.

He dashes forward, picks up her body, and disappears back inside, away from the light.

Graham watches as Mike dashes forward and grabs the unconcious Annabelle.  The two of them head down a darkened tunnel, but then stop in their tracks.

Someone or something is standing infront of them.  Another Turok-Han?

The shadow steps forward, close enough for them to now see.........

Buffy Summers

To Be Continued.
