Episode 1 -5

Annabelle catches up to Jennifer a few moments later when she sees Jennifer lying out in the middle of the street where the sun is still shining down.

As she slows down and gets closer, she sees two all too familiar puncture wounds on her neck.  A check of her life signs indicate the new Slayer is dead.

Killed by a vampire under the rays of the sun.

Annabelle immediately draws her wooden stake, ready for action, and slowly turns a full circle looking for Jennifer's attacker.

Seeing no one, she squats down, vainly trying to find a pulse.  Finally she stands up again, looking around for any clue as to what happend.

"Stupid, stupid girl!  Why did you run?!  Did you see the ghost of your dead watcher like I did?  But you didn't have a watcher did you?  And even if you did, there should be no ghosts from the past with First Evil now defeated."

"She probably just freaked out at the idea that she was the head slayer now, and tried to run away. Unfortunately for her, she didn't understand that running off in a city full of Turok Han was likely to be her final mistake. By the way...learn from it. None of you run off by yourselves. It won't end any better for you guys."

Mike knew if they all run during the day, they could leave HIM behind. He rather hopes they don't. But wait...

Annabelle closed her eyes and took a deep breath as if she were trying to get in tune with her body.  Getting no apparent results, she walked over to the sofa and lifted one side of it several inches off the floor.

"Apparently not, a sofa is just as hard to lift as before,"she says putting it back down. "Although my watcher said a Slayer's powers do not usually appear all at once when she is called.  Jennifer is not............I mean.................was not a naturally created Slayer.  She got her powers as a result of a magic spell."

Annabelle pauses for a moment after talking about Jennifer.  "We really should go get her body and give her a decent burial as much as circumstances allow. Then get on with the business torching the high school"

We can seal off the exits by setting a fire in front of them.  The vampire can take a petrol can and set a small fire at each underground way. Meanwhile we'll split into two groups up here.  One group goes about encircling the whole building with petrol, the other sets a small fire at each outer door, then move on to the next one. Graham and I can set the fires at each door, Merry and Daniel can take care of the circle of fire around the building."

Daniel and Meredith are walking around the building spreading gasoline in a circle to begin the outer rim of fire.

Graham and Annabelle are that front entrance to start blocking off each entracne with smaller fires.

Mike got to work...he'd be alone, but he'd also be able to use his full strength and speed underground without having to wait for the humans to catch up to him.

Off like the flash, he'd arrived at his entry point. The first thing he did, for extra insurance, is seal the bottom of the cover he'd used to enter the school in the first place.

Then, he'd light a fire under it. The turok han could probably rip that cover off, even with his sealing, but they'd find a nasty surprise if they did, for there were lots of flammable things down here...

Mike hadn't expected that. Still, if the authorities had seen fit to get involved, it meant his mortal friends were most likely in the custody of authority...and he was on his own, for he couldn't do a thing about it till nightfall. And that would be several hours. At any rate, he'd still sealed the underground entrance to the school, and the Turok Han's mobility would at least be compromised.

Of course, if the firefighters went in after the Turok Han on a 'rescue mission', they'd likely get themselves eaten. But it was too late to do anything about that...

Michael pondered his options. The manhole cover he was dropped off at was covered by shade, so he could get back to the surface that way.  But getting to into the high school would be a problem.  There was a side entrance to the school several yards from his original entrance point.  But the sun was still shining down there.   If he jumped far enough, he might make it to the side entrance with minimal sun exposure.

Sirens were getting louder, fire department would be here soon.

OCC: If Michael wants to get inside the school, he needs to make a dexterity plus acrobatics roll to see how far he can jump to the side entracne.  If he gets at least four success levels, he succeeds and only take 2 points of sun damage. Failure means he didn't jump far enough and had to run the rest of the way, taking 20 points of sun damage.

Out Front:

Clearly the local constabulary was not going to be reasonable. Best to finish this quickly and get out of here.  Annabelle looked below the officer's belt for half a second as she pondered her next (and decidedly unladylike) move.

"Thank God my mother isn't here to see this."she said as she drilled her fist at the cop's groin area. He let out a scream that would wake the neighborhood, then keeled over in a fetal postion, holding his groin area and moaning pain.

Deciding to move things along as quickly as possible (and avoid in more witnesses), Graham streaked in towards the cop with the baton, using his left hand to uppercut the cop and swinging his heavy flashlight in his right to parry the cop's baton.  "Say goodnight Gracie," he said, knocking out the cop so he could help Annabelle.

The second cop hit the ground unconcious, Graham turns to see that the other one was on the ground in pain.

The firemen were too busy fighting the fire to notice all this.

Re: Episode 1 -5

Seeing Annabelle was stopping the firemen, Graham looks around to see if he could see the cop's car and possibly the rest of their friends.  However, the glare from the fire engine lights and that of the burning school almost blinded him.

18:59, Today: Graham Miller rolled 7 using 1d10+6. Look for cop car and friends.

Re: Episode 1 -5

With the fire at the front entrance now put out, the firemen now turn their attention to Annabelle.  "I think she's serious.  Let's get the fires out in the entranceways, then check with the police before we go further." Just then the fireman's walkie talkie makes a noise: "We've traced the smoke coming from the gym area, someone set a fire in the underground tunnel, it's out now."

The fireman answers as another cop walks up.  "This girl says there's a gang inside with drugs and guns."

The cop responds; "She's right.  We've caught two of them, we're about to take them back to the station." he says pointing to Meredith and Daniel who are both now wearing handcuffs and being put in the back of a police car.

He then points to the bus.  "Looks like they were about to leave town in that bus. We're searching it now.  Lots of supplies.  No drugs found yet, but we found some pretty creepy old occult books.  I think they're a gang of satan worshippers.

Meanwhile Graham looks around, but doesn't make much progress do to the blinding lights.  But he's close enough to the police car of the two cops they just subdued to notice the keys are still in it.

"Oh my God!  There's two officers down just like she said!"the fireman said pointing to the two downed cops.

The cop runs over and looks at the two unconcious cops.  "Okay, nobody goes in until we get back up." He points to Graham and Annabelle.  "You kids don't go anywhere.  We're going to have questions for you."

Re: Episode 1 -5

Annabelle grabs Graham by the arm and pulls him through the front entrance and into the school building, out of range of police and fire earshot.  "We need to leave now and the bus is compromised.  Can you drive a police car?  If we are subtle, I think we can slip out of here in one.  Then we need to find Michael who could be anywhere now................she stops as she sees Mike a few yards away, covered in ubervamp dust.  "Oh, there he is!  We finally caught a break today!"

Mike, however, took note of the situation...and realized he was best off not being seen by authorities. Even if his friends saw him, he didn't want to be brought outside. Brought outside...in to the big sunny sun.

Using his natural stealth, he vanished back into the school.

Annabelle watched Mike move out of view of the authorities and followed him.  "We need to get out of here and get you out of here as well without you burning to ash.  The police are................wait a minute, what are the police doing here?  The town is deserted, shouldn't they have left too?  I know you do some strange things in America, but this is a bit peculiar."

Re: Episode 1 -5

"They're emergency personel. They're expected to go into dangerous situations like a nearly destroyed city. I wouldn't be surprised if the President of the United States puts in an appearance, as this is now an official disaster area."

Meanwhile, Mike keeps moving. He doesn't want to be brought into the harsh light of day, and the fact that he'd sealed the underground now looks fairly foolish.

Re: Episode 1 -5

The heroes' conversation is cut off as they hear the sound of heavy doors slamming followed by the sound of heavy chains rattling and clinking.  Somebody is locking up the school.  With them inside with the ubervamps.

OCC: Front entrance now locked up, no one will be coming or going that way.  Mike could try to break it down if they want to get out that way, but there is that pesky sun still out.  Other ways out of the school are still available, but there could be ubervamps between you and them.

Re: Episode 1 -5

Annbelle quickly surmised the situation, that they were locked in a building with dozens of Turok-Hans.

"They've locked us in!  With all those indestructible monsters!"

She charged towards the front doors, crashing into them in a futile attempt to break them down.  "Let us out!  Let us out!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.  "We're going to die!" she screamed.

Then she fainted dead away and crashed to the floor.

Re: Episode 1 -5

Now Mike had even more problems. Bad enough trying to save an innocent when she awake and healthy.

Now he has to do it when she's unconscious. He severely regrets sealing off the underground. Still, he might be able to save Anna the hard way in a pinch...if he breaks a window and pushes her through, she'll be safe in sunlight.

...Safe in sunlight. This could be his last stand, if he must face a horde without a chokepoint.

He dashes forward, picks up her body, and disappears back inside, away from the light.

Graham watches as Mike dashes forward and grabs the unconcious Annabelle.  The two of them head down a darkened tunnel, but then stop in their tracks.

Someone or something is standing infront of them.  Another Turok-Han?

The shadow steps forward, close enough for them to now see.........

Buffy Summers

To Be Continued.
