Re: Episode 1 -5

Annabelle closed her eyes and took a deep breath as if she were trying to get in tune with her body.  Getting no apparent results, she walked over to the sofa and lifted one side of it several inches off the floor.

"Apparently not, a sofa is just as hard to lift as before,"she says putting it back down. "Although my watcher said a Slayer's powers do not usually appear all at once when she is called.  Jennifer is not............I mean.................was not a naturally created Slayer.  She got her powers as a result of a magic spell."

Annabelle pauses for a moment after talking about Jennifer.  "We really should go get her body and give her a decent burial as much as circumstances allow. Then get on with the business torching the high school"

Re: Episode 1 -5

A half hour later, Jennifer's body has been gathered out of the street and buried in Summers backyard.

Everything here has been taken care of, they're all packed up and ready to go.

Annabelle climbs into the bus by way of the back door which is just a couple of yards from the Summers house.

"Let's get going.  We can stop of at the nearest petrol station on the way which should have all we need."

Mike sighed, not really wanting to go out in the sun...so he grabbed every blanket he could find. Especially the thickest ones, and put them over his head. Like, more then one of them.

"If we must."

He looks kinda silly with blankets over his head and body.

Graham escorted Meredith into the bus then nodded to Daniel as he took a seat.  "I think we are ready to roll out."  Looking around at the others, he adds, "Not sure what is still working around here.  No one was here when I got into town.  Don't even know if the gas stations will still work with electricity being out."

Annabelle takes the front bus seat right behind Daniel in the driver's seat.

"Oh Good Lord, he's right.  Best to look for an older petrol station that doesn't have an electrical pump system.  And if that doesn't work, we don't have to have gasoline.  Any liquid flammable substance will do.  What is that one that people who can't afford a gas grill use?  You know, the one you spray on the chalky black rocks before you light the match to get the fire going? Right then, we'll go the local market and stock up on that.

About a half an hour later, the group was approaching the high school.  They had managed to find working gas pumps at a less modern gas station/convenience store which had empty gas containers in stock, giving them the supplies they needed.

As they approach, they see nothing out of the ordinary, the front of the school looks the same as when they left it.

"So our plan is to have Mikey seal off the sewer exits, while the rest of us seal off the upper exits and then set fire to the place?" Graham asks while looking at the others.

Mike nods.

"Once you get me to an underground entrance point, I'll handle my end to seal the underground off. But the idea is to let the fire and sun do the dirty work."

He'll do his part...

"Why not kill two birds with one stone?." Annabelle says picking up a petrol container in one hand and a carrying a box of matches in the other.

We can seal off the exits by setting a fire in front of them.  The vampire can take a petrol can and set a small fire at each underground way. Meanwhile we'll split into two groups up here.  One group goes about encircling the whole building with petrol, the other sets a small fire at each outer door, then move on to the next one. Graham and I can set the fires at each door, Merry and Daniel can take care of the circle of fire around the building."

Re: Episode 1 -5

Several minutes later, the heroes have split into three groups.

Michael has been safely transported to the nearest underground entrance and now stands at the ladder that leads up into the gym locker room where he entered before.

Daniel and Meredith are walking around the building spreading gasoline in a circle to begin the outer rim of fire.

Graham and Annabelle are that front entrance to start blocking off each entracne with smaller fires.

Re: Episode 1 -5

Mike got to work...he'd be alone, but he'd also be able to use his full strength and speed underground without having to wait for the humans to catch up to him.

Off like the flash, he'd arrived at his entry point. The first thing he did, for extra insurance, is seal the bottom of the cover he'd used to enter the school in the first place.

Then, he'd light a fire under it. The turok han could probably rip that cover off, even with his sealing, but they'd find a nasty surprise if they did, for there were lots of flammable things down here...

Re: Episode 1 -5

Annabelle steps into the front entrance, and starts dumping gasoline (or petrol as she calls it) on the floor.  "I'll get the fires going if you can keep an eye out for Turok-Hans or any other beatie that might impede our progress."

Then she steps back and pulls the box of matches out of her pocket, striking one against the box, she tosses it into the flammable liquid and quickly head back outside.  "That's one way they won't escape, on to the next one."

Down below:

Mike successfully seals off the underground entrance to the high school, then gets his fire going.  His mission complete, he starts heading back down the tunnel.

He makes it to the next tunnel and turns when he sees two vampires suddenly in front of him.

They're regular vamps, not ubervamps.  Both just stare at him for a couple of seconds, then one speaks up:

"Are you MIchael Smith?"

"I am. And if you don't want to be on the wrong end of the Turok Han up there, you'd better clear out of here. I've tried to seal them from getting down here, but that doesn't mean they can't break through anyway. We're preparing to torch the school and leave them to the sun to deal with."

He'd normally be more worried about the two vampires in front of him, but realistically, there's nobody for them to eat around here anyway, so they'll have to move on on their own.

Re: Episode 1 -5

One vamp looks overhead.  "Right, that won't be a problem.  We're gonna dust you pretty quick, then get out of here!"

Both vampires pull out wooden stakes and step towards Mike.

OCC: Mike now has two vampires coming at him, each holding a wooden stake.  If he wants to fight, post his moves in the combat thread, he has iniitiative.  If he wants to run, he can spin around and run down the opposite way of the tunnel he just entered which won't lead back to the spot he started the fire.

Re: Episode 1 -5

Unfortunately, Mike is badly off his game at the moment, and both his offense and defense is unusually ineffective, as he tries to deck both vampires with a fist and they both evade his punches.

The first vamp growls and moves in with his stake aimed at Mike's heart.  "Goodbye loser!  Stinkin' vamp with a soul!  You make me embarassed to be undead!"The stake brushes past Mike's chest, leaving a splinter in his shirt.

Re: Episode 1 -5

But it's not that easy to finish him off, for he's quite strong...

He hasn't quite found his offensive game yet, but his defense tightens up considerably. Mike fails to connect with the two vampires once again.

The first vampire drives his stake to Mike's heart again, but misses by a mile this time.

His partner tries another tactic as he aims a kick at Mike's midsection, but misses as well.

OCC:Back to the combat thread, no hits on either side this round.

Nodding his agreement, Graham grips a stake and keeps his eyes peeled. Without looking at Annabelle, he says, "So I know a lot has happened in the last day or so, but I wanted you to know that I knew Buffy and her friends from college and, um, well, if you want to talk about their, um, well your loss, you could um, talk to me. If you wanted to that is. Or if you don't that, is um, okay too I guess." Graham sneaks a peek back at the fire starter to see how she is taking his eloquent offer.

Annabelle pauses for a minute, then goes about her business of lighting the next fire without saying anything.

As she steps out and walks towards the next door, she starts to talk; "I can not say I am grieving too much for Buffy and her friends because I unfortunatley didn't know them that long.  I arrived in Sunnydale one afternoon and a little over 24 hours later...............I died.  And now.............they're dead.  I'll miss Mr. Giles most of all.  He saved me from those horrid bringers."

"FREEZE!"

Annabelle and Graham turn to the sound of the voice behind them and see two Sunnydale police officers!

Both have their pistols drawn and pointed at the two of them.  "Well, well, well, look what we have here." says the first cop.  "A couple of sociopaths that think burning down a school is okay.  If you two have any brains, you'll give up and come along quietly.  We've already got your two pals who were spreading gasoline around the buidling."

Underground:

Mike got into his combat flow, and proceeded to get to decking the other two. He fared better, but not quite enough as his punches barely missed both vamps.

"You hold him, while I stake him!" shouts the first vamp.
Mike's defense was impeccable, but the second vamp's attack was amazing as he lunged forward grabbing Mike by the waist.

"You moron!  I meant grab his arm!  How can I stake him with you blocking his chest!  Aw, screw it!"the first vamp says as he drives the stake into his partner's heart from behind.  The second vamp turns to dust.  Instead of a solid vamp holding him, Mike now has a lot of dust on his clothes.

"Never liked that guy.  Just you and me now chump!"

OCC:Back to the combat thread.  Mike has only one vamp to deal with now.

Re: Episode 1 -5

Annabelle gave her best deer in the headlights look.  Talking their way out of it was not an option seeing as how she had a petrol can in one hand and a box of matches in the other as the police accused them of trying to burn down the school.

She inched closer to Graham. "We can not let them take us."she whispered out of the side of her mouth just loud enought for Graham to hear.

Undeground:

"I get you guys are soulless, but killing your comrade before your enemy is slain...you won't live to regret it."

And Mike lauches a pair of bonecrunching punches that smash into the other vampire, and follows it up with a sweep, which knocks him on his ass. And then he draws a stake of his own.

His defense wasn't perfect, but the best defense is a good offense.  And offense doesn't get better than this.

The other vampire is flat on his back, too dazed from Mike's attack to even plead for mercy.

OCC: One vampie in front of you, laying on his back.

Underground:

And then Mike went all out to finish the job, going to stake his prone opponent, who should be less able to defend himself now. He will learn the folly of staking allies as he joins his ally's fate in dustdom.

Mike's stake plunges into the downed vampire's chest, making a crunching sound, then the undead exploded into dust, leaving Mike alone in the tunnel.
