Episode 1-6

Graham watches as Mike dashes forward and grabs the unconcious Annabelle.  The two of them head down a darkened tunnel, but then stop in their tracks.

Someone or something is standing infront of them.  Another Turok-Han?

The shadow steps forward, close enough for them to now see.........

Buffy Summers

That's impossible isn't it?

On a hunch, he sniffs the air...does the Buffy he sees in front of him have pumping, living blood?

Re: Episode 1-6

As they wait for what appears to be the Slayer to speak, Mike tries to determine if their is blood in her veins.

He smells.............fire! Brimstone! Buffy must have went to a hell dimension and escaped!

No wait, that's the scent from the recently put out fires drifting through the building and jamming his senses at the moment.  He'll have to wait to get to some fresher air and try again.

Meanwhile in his arms, Annabelle begins to stir.

"Buffy?  There's only one answer.  I'm dead aren't I?" Then she notices that Mike is holding her and Graham is standing next to him.

"Yes, of course.  We're all dead.  And Buffy is here is guide us to the aftelife."

Now wide awake, Annabelle climbs out of Mike's arms.  "Just lead the way Buffy and get us out of here.  We'll figure out how to get Michael safely out of here once we get where we're going."

Annabelle was definitely sticking close to the Slayer.  Now if only she didn't hear voices in her head or visions of dead people telling her to run away from the Slayer, everything will be just fine.

At the front of the school:

The police and fire vehicles have packed up all their gear and are now heading out, including one cop driving the group's school bus with all their supplies.

One by one each one heads out to the road and out of sight away from the school. Except one police car.

This police car back instead begins to slowly circle the building.

As Buffy lead the group down the hallway, they approached a side exit leading outside.  Mike recognized it as the way he came in.

Before they made it that far, there was a familiar and not very welcome growl coming closer, then before they knew it, there was an ubervamp in front of them.

Then they heard the same growling noise coming from behind them except louder, as two ubervamps came up behind them.

They were surrounded.

Re: Episode 1-6

Mike tells Buffy "You take the pair, I've got this one."

He figures Buffy is several orders of magnitude more powerful then he is, and will be able to dispatch hers in half the time it takes him to dispatch this one. Perhaps he's too overawed, as it's not his best performance ever, even as he launches a one two punch combo followed by some lackluster defense. But it gets the job done as both of his fists slam into the lone ubervamp.

"Control your fear!  Control your fear!" Annabelle shouted, giving herself a pep talk.  She managed to hold herself together this time as she moved in and and landed a kick into the midsection of the vampire Mike was going after, the Slayer would no help from her or anyone.

Graham pulls his knife and goes after the lone Ubervamp, hoping Buffy can finish hers off quickly and help him out. He slashes out with the knife quickly cutting into the ubervamp's flesh before bringing it back up to defend himself with with.

The lone Turok-Han swung his fist at Mike and missed.  The triple threat attack has overwhelmed him.  This poor sucker is just waiting for someone to put a stake in his heart and put him out of his misery.

This left the Buffenator to deal with the remaining vamps that the others didn't touch. "Ok you rejects who wants to dance!?" As Buffy attempts to use Kung Fu on the first vamp closest to her position. And misses.  It would appear the Buffster is off her game and could use a hand.  But her defense was quite formidable as she evaded the attacks of both ubervamps.

OCC: Back to the combat thread.  No damage to the heroes this round.  The two vamps Buffy is figthing are undamaged, the lone one is barely standing up.

Re: Episode 1-6

Annabelle watched as the ubervamp was ovewhelmed by their triple attack.  Her fear took a drop, while her confidence began to rise.  "You bloody bastard!!  You aren't so invincible after all!!!"she screamed as she drove her wooden stake to his heart, looking to finish him off.  The stake plunged into the ubervamp with a THOK.  Pause. Then he exploded into dust.

With this ubervamp dusted, the way to the door and out into the sun was now clear.

Mike goes to assist Buffy...and is so utterly surprised she needs help it distracts him from launching a good attack as his fist misses the Turok-Han.

"Since when do you need help?" Something's not right here. She's supposed to be the strongest being alive.

Seeing that Annabelle seemed to have things in hand, Graham follows Mike to take one of the two Ubervamps off Buffy's hands.  "Is now really the time to be critiquing her performance," Graham grunts out while lashing out at the Vamp with his knife and having better luck than Mike as his knife slices through the ubervamp's midsection.  "Besides who knows how many of these things she has already fought? We were tired after just a few yesterday and she was down below fighting hundreds of them," he says while moving his blade up to defend against the Vamps probable counter attack.

The monster goes after Mike first and misses, totally throwing off any intent to go after Graham this time.

The comments made by the others were the least of her concerns. Buffy had to get the others out. However there is a chance that they would clearly ask questions. The Buffenator would have to meet that challenge after this little matter of this latest vampiric threat. She attempts the punch the one she just missed a moment ago and succeeds as her right fist smashes into his horrible face followed by her left fist smashing into his gut.

OCC: Two ubervamps still up, no others have shown up yet.  No damage to the heroes this round.  Since the first vamp who was blocking the way out is now dust, anyone can head for the door and out in the sun if they want with no trouble except Mike. This is the way Mike came in, so he can try to leave the same way, by making a dexterity plus acrobatics roll to land in the shade on the other side if he gets four sucess levels, he takes just two points of sun damage.

Re: Episode 1-6

Mike saw Buffy get her game back, and that inspires Mike himself to get back to peak performance! It's like watching her in action shows him how fighting should be done. That's more like the Buffy of legend.

He one twos the vampire Buffy just hit, with a punch, then a stake through the heart to finish it off. His stake hits the mark, the vampire explodes to dust, and then he turns his attention to the last one...

"One down..."

"I got him!  HA!" Annabelle shouts as she jumps up and down a couple of times then composes herself and hopes everyone was too busy fighting to notice.

"Right then."she says calmly as she then drives her wooden stake into the heart of the other ubervamp.

The monster explodes into dust, leaving the heroes alone in the hallway.  For the moment.  Exit door only a few yards away.

OCC:All Turok-Hans in your vicinity dusted.  Exit door is close by if you want to leave now, Mike must make the aforementioned dex plus acrobatics roll to avoid the sunlight and hit the shade on the other side.

Re: Episode 1-6

Mike lands safely in the shade, feeling his flesh burn for just an instant, as the others follow him out the door.

He doesn't have long to celebrate as he and everyone else sees the police car with the two cops standing in front of it, just a couple of yards away from where he landed.

"Well, well, well.  Looks like we made a smart move, guarding this door to see if anyone came out this way.  Now we've got them all." one cop says to the other as they both pull out their batons.  "Why don't you kids just get  in the back of the car and we'll all go down to the station, nice and easy."he said.  These aren't the two cops Annabelle and Graham previously fought, they're fresh and ready for a fight.

OCC: Two points of damage to Mike for his brief sun exposure. Now more trouble.  Back to the combat thread.  Unless you want to surrender of course.  Two cops against the four of you, they have their batons out, not their guns yet.  Good guys have initiative. The cops and their car are in the shade so Mike can fight them without worrying about the sun.

"I'd figure that this will happen sooner or later. Let's see how well use can use those batons." She charges the nearest officer to attempt to punch his lights out. One punch connects to his gut as the second hits him in the face.  The cop hits the ground, unconcious and bleeding.

"I'll let you heavy hitters take this one."Annabelle said, staying out of the way, and trying not to get hit as Buffy engaged the policemen.

The other cop's eyes just about pop out of his head as he watches Buffy pulverize his partner.  "That girl's not just on PCP, she's on steroids too!!  Hang on pal!!  I'm gonna run back to the station and get help!!" the other cop screams as he takes off running into the sunlight and is quickly out of sight.

It's now just the four heroes, one unconcious cop, and one police car with the keys in the ignition.

Entering Sunnydale:

Emilia drove through the abandoned streets of Sunnydale... "Well this place looks like the bloody mary celeste" Through the gloom she looked around. "Well this is fun." she thought to herself slightly distracted she accidentally mounted the curb before managing to right the car. She couldn't see an open hotel or anywhere for her to stay...

Emilia what are you doing here? she thought to herself Getting some stupid sms into my noggin and end up driving through an abandoned yank city she sighed to herself, reaching forward she turned on the radio... no local channels only a few from California state radio.

Sighing she was just about to turn and ride out of the city when she saw the flashing blue and red lights down a street. "Finally police... they can tell me what the heck is going on." she muttered as turned the car down the street wobbling a bit to get on the wrong side of the road again. "Don't know how these yanks drive this way." she muttered to herself.

Finally she managed to pull the car to a stop by the police car... there were a few people standing around the car. She failed completely to notice the unconscious cop by the car. She wound down the window.

"Excuse me." She called out the window, "Could anyone here direct me to a hotel or travel lodge?" she said with her posh English accent.

"Are we certain splitting up is the smart thing to do?  Couldn't we just find an empty house for temporarty quarters until sunset?  There's no shortage of those. Annabelle stops in mid-sentence as she watches the other car approach.  She is very suspicious of the newcomer.  For about two seconds that is until she hears the girl's accent which identifies her country (and social status)of origin. "Well hello.  I'm new in town myself, but I'm afraid we won't be staying long. This town is nearly devoid of human life for some reason. My friends and I were discussing our options for leaving.............in this nice abandoned police car we found.Annabelle finishes in her own posh British accent.  She left out the details about vampires and the hellmouth for now, until they figure out what, if anything the girl knows about those sort of things.

Emilia almost laughed, "You would think I was crazy if I told you." She turned off the engine and walked over to the group she was slightly hesitant, however this group, although it looked like they may have stolen a police car didn't seem so bad. In fact one of the men seemed quite handsome. She cast him an admiring look but continued to talk to Annabella, "Far from home? Pot, Kettle, Black sweety," she sighed she thought briefly about telling these people but decided last thing she needed was to be put into an American insane asylum, "You would think I was crazy if I told you." She avoided with a shrug.

"If there are looters about why are you guys still here?" From what she had seen on American TV LA was filled with insanely good looking people and the streets were violent and dangerous, this place possibly slightly more so, for all she knew it was a common teenage hobby to rob police cars... her father had told her than when he was a young man he had stolen a policeman's hat... Americans always taking things one step too far....

"What are you guys doing with a police car then." she then noticed the unconscious police man, she started to back away, despite Annabelle not seeming like a psychopath or a criminal for all Emilia knew she was being held against her will. "Or am i safer not knowing?" She said backing further away.

Annabelle took a closer look at the girl.  She wasn't frail or unhealthy per se, but her arms weren't exactly robust.  She didn't appear to be much of a physical match for even a weaker vampire.

"It's not safe for you to be alone.  You really should come with us.  Long story short, we each came here for various reaons, but since the town is now deserted and dangerous we're trying to leave, but the aforementioned local constabulary keeps thwarting our efforts."

Re: Episode 1-6

"These are not my clothes!  I had to borrow them!"she said a bit defensively as grabbed the wet wipes from Emilia's purse.

"I'll explain what a Slayer is  in detail once we get to our destination.  Make a left here."she said looking in the mirror as she cleaned up her face.

"So, I'm Annabelle Bershire.  And you are ? I'd be surprised if our families didn't have at least a passing familiarity with one another. Your accent clearly marks your upper class standing. Or else you're doing a fine impression."

Re: Episode 1-6

The conversation is interrupted as both cars arrive at the fuel station.  There is a roof over the pumps, so Mike can stretch his legs without having to worry about the sun.  This is a combination fuel station/convenience store (with the pump roof extending to the building so Mike can enter without sunlight hitting him)if anyone wants to stock up on food now that the supplies on the bus have been confiscated.  There are rest rooms inside the store as well as a windowless back room with a cot to sleep on.

Emilia looked around the fuel station, "Well this sucks." She got out of the car and looked at the pump and the car, "Hmm I swear I saw Geoffry do this once," She said looking at the pump, she managed to get the fuel cap off finally avoiding breaking her nails, "So Annabelle, where are you from? She managed to finally get the pump working.

Re: Episode 1-6

Annabelle watched Emilia finally get the fuel pump working.  She made no effort to help, she would if she had any idea what to do, but fuel pumps were not in her realm of expertise.  "I'm from London.  I went to school at Queen Anne's.  At least until a couple of years ago, then I was identified as a potential Slayer and went off to train under my watcher. "

She sighed loudly as she finished that sentence.  "You have no idea what a watcher is either do you?  I guess I'll have to start from the beginning."

Re: Episode 1-6

Emilia looked over at Annabelle, "Well it's a small world, I was at Queen Anne's for a few years before my daddy got me a tutor, lets just say I wasn't doing that well." She said shrugging "Not sure what a watcher is, still not sure on what a slayer is but I'm sure you'll tell me soon."

(OCC: hey don't i get the whole spiel one with the strength and skill etc...)

She pulled the pump out hooked it back up, "Fancy scrumping?" She asked pointing at the shop.

(OCC: translation: Scrumping = Stealing)

Re: Episode 1-6

Annabelle took a deep breath. Into each generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a chosen one, one born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires." She knew that speech, her watcher quoted it to her more than once.

She paused, raised her eyebrows, and stared at nothing in particular for a second.  "Now that I think about it, that description is inaccurate.  A Slayer isn't born with the strength to to hunt the vampires, she gets it when she's a teenager.  And she certainly isn't  born with the skills, she gets them through long arduous hours of training with her watcher.  Whoever wrote that speech didn't think it through."

She looks in the direction of the shop.  "Yes, let's do some scrumping shall we?  Door is unlocked, we were here earlier."

Scrumping?  What's that. Still she made sure that Mike was ok before inspecting more of the store itself. The Buffenator was trying to make sense of all this.

Re: Episode 1-6

Seeing no sense not to top off the police car as well, Graham pulled up to the other pump, found the gas tank on the other side of the car.  Signing, he got back in the car, reversed and flipped the car around so the tank was facing the pump, then got out and started pumping gas.  Following his military training, he popped the hood and checked the oil gauge, then did the same for the girl's rental car.  Noticing all the scratches on it, he shook his head. "Sheesh, someone needed some lessons."

Seeing that everyone else was in the store, Graham opened the passenger door of the cruiser, and began looking around for any paperwork to indicate where the car came from.  Last he had seen, the town was empty and no one had answered his calls at the police station when he was looking for his parents.

OOC: 18:07, Today: Graham Miller rolled 13 using 1d10+6. Per + Notice to look for clues.

Re: Episode 1-6

Emilia, walked into the petrol station, making her way immediately to the cosmetics, she looked at the brands... "Ugh god!, I can't believe they sell this she said picking up a bright fluorescent pink lipstick," She stuffed a few other cosmetics into a bag and grabbed a few drinks and snacks.

"I'm starting to see why Americans are so fat,"She said looking over the rows after rows of junk food. "Don't suppose anyone's seen any fruit still edible?" She asked looking at the melted ice cream. She moved over to the register... someone had already looted it unfortunately she search behind the register for anything of importance. However was quite distracted by the array of various confectionery.

11:30, Today: Emilia Grey rolled 4 using 1d10+3. Perception Search roll. If there was an elephant under the counter she wouldn't see it.

Re: Episode 1-6

Outside at the pumps:

Graham finds some standard documents in the glove box of the police car. Everything is in order, looking at these papers indicates this is a normal Sunnydale police car.  Either somebody is an expert at forging law enforcement documents, or something is really wrong in Sunnydale.

Inside the store:

Emilia fails to find anything of importance in the vicinity of the register, although the distracting confectionaries are impairing her perception.

Annabelle walks over to the register to join Emilia.  "Don't even think about looking for any proper British tea here. You'd have better luck getting water from a stone."

She then crosses her arms in front of her chest.  "Well now, I've told you all about me.  It's your turn.  Your name would be a good place to start."

"Grey, Emilia Grey," She said with a smile, "Well it's all slightly weird about how I got here, needless to say now i've seen this place i"ll probably sleep better,"

She looked around "Started with a book, and then a weird little creature then nightmares telling me to come here, so borrowed some money from daddy and got a flight out."

She looked at Annabelle "I know how it sounds, a bit dodally, but that's the truth."

Re: Episode 1-6

Annabelle looks astonished at Emilia's story for about a second.  "Well, I'm pleased to meet you Emilia. And I have heard stranger stories.  Seems like you're not as new to the world of the supernatural as I thought.  So, a nightmare told you to come here? Is that the first time you've had that experience?"Annabelle said, suddenly intrigued.  This girl may be able to predict the future.

As she waited for Emilia's answer, she began looking around the store and found the back room.  "There's  a back room here with no windows.  Perhaps Michael should make use of it, stretch himself out without fear of being burned to a cinder."

Re: Episode 1-6

Emilia laughed, "One week ago I thought it was all spotty freaks who played games in darkened bedrooms, now I appear to be living the life of supernatural." She said trying on some of the lipstick by the counter checking herself in the mirror she quickly rubbed it off and applied a red one.

"First time thats happened?" She paused "Well kind of I had the same dream over and over until I booked my flight out here. Ironically the first good nights kip I got was on the flight here."

She looked to the car "What's wrong with Michael has he got some sort of Polymorphos light eruption condition or something?" She asked

Re: Episode 1-6

"Well now, that is intriguing.  Sounds like you may be manifesting the power to have visions of the future.  But to what extent may be too early to say. There are multiple variations of this ability.  Some visions are very vague and hard to decipher.

She glanced out in the direction of the police car after hearing Emilia's question regarding Michael. "I'm certain you've guessed by now that vampires are real, since there is a Slayer to wage battle against them.  Vampires are not lonely, tormented creatures as they are portrayed in countless pieces of fiction. They are monsters who are mostly likely going to eat you or perhaps turn you into a vampire. What makes them evil is they have no soul, which exits the body when a person becomes a vampire. But there are rare exceptions.  Some vampires have souls and are not evil.  Michael is such a vampire and as such the direct rays of the sun are lethal to him.Annabelle said finishing her monologue in one breath, hoping Emilia will take the news calmly.

Emilia shrugged, "Vampires are real? Ok i guess that makes sense, but F-ing hell you seem to be taking this in your stride." She said as she checked the make up in the mirror. "This all seems a bit phantazmagoria doesn't it?" She said

Re: Episode 1-6

Meanwhile, out by the pumps:

Graham has is looking at the paperwork in the police car glovebox, Michael is still in the backseat.

A few yards away, a manhole cover slides open.  One by one they climb out, four vampires, not of the Turok-Han variety just regular vampires, safe from the sun since the manhole cover they exited is also under the the outdoor roof covering the gas pumps.

One immediately spots the police and Graham sitting in the front seat.  "Look guys!  Blood!" All four vamps charge towards the police car.

To be continued.
