Re: Episode 1-7

Emilia looked at the gun then up at Annabelle, "You know sweety we don't have guns in the UK, I've got no clue how to use it, but what the hell." She took the gun and stuffed it into her handbag.

Re: Episode 1-7

Annabelle nods at Emilia."I know I never saw one in my life until my watcher showed me a pistol. I asked her how the watcher's council circumvented the firearm laws, she just said 'We have our sources' and that's all she would say on that matter."

"Very well.  It can ride with you two in the police cruiser, Emilia and I will take the rental."she said to Mike.  "And I strongly suggest our next stop be the hospital.  You two are in need of some medical attention before we go any further." she said looking back and forth between the recently wounded Graham and Mike.  "I'm sure it's abandoned like everything else, but we can make use of the medical supplies."

"I really don't medical attention. We sort of sleep wounds like these off. If I get a decent day's sleep at some point, I'll be fine."

There were some benefits to being undead, after all.

Re: Episode 1-7

"Why not get some sleep in a nice hospital bed in a windowless room?  Then we can leave just before sunset with you fully healed or close to it."

Annabelle glances looks at everyone. "If the police are looking for us now, it's for certain that they have the road blocked out of town, just waiting for us to try to leave. If we try to go in daylight we'll likely get shot to death while Michael hides under a blanket.

Annabelle then takes the pistol in her hand and puts the safety on, making a mental note to show Emilia how to do it once they get back in the rental car.

Re: Episode 1-7

Emilia pulled Annabelle aside and whispered to her "Between you and me, we seem to be the only slightly normally adjusted people in this town." She looked across at the shot vampire and robot, then glanced at the soldier boy, who appeared to be more of a wined up toy than the robot. "Guys any chance that Annabelle can ride with me?" she asked

Turning back to Annabelle, he nods at Emilia. "Looks like you are in charge of our friend.  Make sure she accidently shoot you or herself with that gun."  Graham puts the safety on both shotguns and puts it back in the squad car. "Hospital is not a bad idea.  We might be able to find another vehicle to trade out for our cop car here."

Re: Episode 1-7

"You're not wrong about that." Annabelle whispers back.

Then she shouts at the others;"Right then.  It's settled, we'll go to the hospital as soon as you scrump a few more things. I'll ride with Emilia in the rental car."

Annabelle climbs into the passenger side of the rental car and waits for Emilia to get in the driver's side.  After she does, Annabelle pulls out Emilia's pistol and clicks the safety switch.  "Make sure this is on when you're not using the pistol, it's the safety switch, Keeps it from going off accidentally. I'm sure you noticed bullets don't have much of an effect on vampires. Since most of their organs don't function anymore, they're not as vulnerable to firearms. Don't count on this to save your life if a vampire attacks, at best it will slow them down. Now they are useful against most demons, which hopefully we won't encounter. And they appear to work just fine against robots as well."

Emilia thought about that Annabelle said for a moment, "What does hurt vampires?" She asked eventually, thinking about the possibly of making bullets, she suspected holy water was complete bull crap.  She started the car and was ready to follow the other car to the hospital.

Re: Episode 1-7

"Let's see...."Annabelle says, preparing to list the ways a vampire can be harmed, a subject her watcher pounded into her brain.

"The most basic is the wooden stake to the heart, doesn't have to specifically be a stake, just something made of wood.  Bows and crossbows with wooden arrows are commonly used. Then there's sunlight as you just saw. Fire works as well if they burn long enough.  The touch of a cross will harm a vampire, but it would take a lot to destroy it, say for example you have a coffin full of crosses you can throw the vampire into. Same with holy water, it will damage them but would take copious amounts to destroy them. Then there is decapitation, take a sword, ax or other large edged weapon and swing it at the neck area, the vampire's head will come off and you get two piles of dust."

Re: Episode 1-7

Emilia did the check list in her head:
Wood through heart, Check she looked around no wood
Bow or Crossbow.... check no bow's or cross bows
Sunlight... "Would UV rays work?" She asked
Crosses,... Nope
Fire.... Hmmm she looked at the petrol station. "Give me a second."

She got out the car walked back into the shop and looked around for deodorant or hairspray and a lighter. and then returned to the car.

Annabelle nodded her head at Emilia's newly procured supplies.  "Homemade flamethrower, very clever.  If the police weren't looking for us, I would suggest we find a jewelry store and get us a couple of cross necklaces.  Best thing to keep the undead beasties away from your neck area.  I had one but I..............lost it."

Annabelle turned to look out her window in the direction of the store.  "Hit the horn will you, they need to finish up in there so we can get moving."

Re: Episode 1-7

A little while later, the two cars are on the road, after Graham had filled up several containers with gas and stored them in the police cruiser trunk.

The group makes it to the hospital without any more Sunnydale police stopping them (and with minimal property damage from Emilia's driving).

Both vehicles pull into the hospital garage where the ambulances are usually kept.  You see just one ambulance in the garage.  It is the only other vehicle you have seen besides your two, no other vehicles in the garage or parking lot.

OCC: You're in the hospital garage now.  Your two vehicles are safe from view from the road, nobody will notice them unless they also enter the garage.  Mike may move about freely since he's safe from the sun in here.

Mike got straight to napping. It didn't matter where he napped...except no sun.

He only made sure to NOT be in stolen property for his nap.

Annabelle climbs out of the rental car and heads for the hospital entrance connected to the garage.

"Come along Graham, we'll find some medical supplies and we'll see about getting you patched up."

She looks back at Emilia. "Grab all your things including your homemade flamethrower supplies, we probably won't run into a vampire, but let's be safe.  And let's stick close together, no wandering off.  This place is huge."

Emilia got out the back of the rental and looked around, no porter, "Er... Robot... buffy?" She asked looking at the slightly damaged Robot, "Any chance you could give me a hand?" She asked, she grabbed her back pack and handbag and the aerosole and lighter then went to the back of the car and looked at the two large suitcases. Wondering if she could convince the Robot to help her carry them.

Hearing that, Annabelle spun around and walked back to the trunk of the rental car.  "We've got it, thank you." she says to Buffybot as she hefts one, then the other of Emilia's two suitcases out of the trunk, then grabs the handle of both.  That Slayer strength training came in handy.

"I see Michael is looking for a place to hit the sack.  Should be plenty of unoccupied hospital beds.  Do you fancy a quick nap Emilia?  We'll take turns, one of us will stand guard while the other one sleeps. I know I could use one, I'm still on London time."

Re: Episode 1-7

As the team enters the hospital, they find something they haven't seen anywhere else in Sunnydale.  The electricity is on.  Hospital emergency generator is working.  Plenty of medical supplies to be found, when the staff and patients evacuated they didn't take everything.

Annabelle manages to perform some basic first aid on Graham.  Then she and Emilia take turns, one showers and takes a nap in a vacant hospital room while the other guards against intruders.  Hospitals are public places after all, the invitation requirement doesn't apply to vampires here if one manages to dodge the sun and make it inside. Emilia takes her nap first, then manages to get some reading done while Annabelle takes her turn.

Graham meanwhile recons the whole hospital.  Plenty of medical supplies if they want to grab some.  He also finds some food left in the hospital cafeteria, none spoiled since the refrigerators are still working. No other signs of life, human or otherwise, besides the five of them.

Buffybot meanwhile finds a hospital room of her own and powers down which activates her self repair circuitry to mend her bullet wound.

Mike quickly found a cot in a windowless room and dozed right off as his vampire regeneration powers began to heal his wounds.

Hours pass.  7:30 pm Sunnydale time.

Mike wakes up to find everyone else now up and about.  He looks out the nearest window at the setting sun. He estimates about half an hour until sunset.

OCC: Mike and Buffybot are now fully healed. Graham gets back 4 life points from the first aid treatment.  Your life point charts have been adjusted.

The setting sun, which he had to look at in a mirror for his own safety.

Well, he's happy enough to burn another half hour waiting for it to be completely down, then he can happily get the hell out of here. But since he was awake and healed, he could spend this time simply waiting and watching for things that might stop him from leaving...

Re: Episode 1-7

Emilia was sitting on one of the Hospital beds reading, it wasn't particularly comfortable but it was better than the chairs, she was sure that the chairs and beds had been designed by demons. "What constitutes private property?" She asked Annabelle, "If someone turned a bit of wilderness into their home and built a cabin that would probably apply but what about if someone squatted? Legally, at least in the UK if you squat for six months you get squatters rights, daddy had some problems with some pikey's squatting in one of our lower fields a few years back, or is it the sense of home?" She asked looking up from a chapter on vampires, "These things aren't clearly stated in this book." She said with a sigh. She moved to the Mirror and popped open her handbag and started to touch up her makeup.

Re: Episode 1-7

Annabelle listens to Emilia's questions as she puts her shoes back on.  "Yes they are quite vague.  Most occult books are very old and as such do not reflect the circumstances of the modern world. It would be the bee's knees if someone would publish an updated edition every couple of years. From what my watcher told me, hotel rooms are not considered home regardless of how long a person has dwelled there, they are public places, so you wouldn't be safer from vampire entering there.

She stands up and looks out the window, noticing the setting sun.  "There's still a lot of uncovered territory.  For example, what if you rent a house from someone else?  And then, you fall behind on the rent?  Is that still you're private property?"She shakes her head."Don't ponder it too much, it may drive you mad.  So, where did you get that book?  And did I hear you say something earlier about summoning a demon?"

Emilia paused as she looked up from the book, "Well not so much summoned there was no candles or chanting or anything like that, I just sort of read the wrong part of the book, it was a fairly small thing in comparison, about two foot high with wings nasty little bugger, found this book in my family library, don't have the foggyest where it came from." She closed the book briefly, "It's not to clear on anything, the only thing I've managed to do with this book so far is understand a little about a little, and most of that isn't that clear..." She paused as she pondered Annabelle's suggestion, "Hmm maybe we should start writing the modern version, sort of like how to train your dragon but for vampires and other stuff..." She said with a smile,

Annabelle cocked an eyebrow, then smiled herself (which was unusual for her). "Now that is a grand idea.  Or at least we could write a guide to how to understand some of those books that gets to the point.  I'm certain you've noticed that those type of books are terribly overwritten."

Annabelle steps towards the hallway.  "I don't know about you, but I'm quite famished.  If the lights are on, then that means the refrigerators should be working, which means food that is still edible may be on the premises.

She shouts out to Mike and Graham.  "We're going to go find some food before we leave!  Unless you've found some first!"
