Episode 1-8

At the high school:

Pan the camera on the front entrance to the high school.  All is quiet.  Then you hear a growling, it gets louder and louder until......

Turok-Hans come pouring out the front doors.  Lots of them, no longer trapped by the
sun and they are looking for fresh blood.

At the city limits:

The heroes have just discovered that leaving Sunnydale is not an option thanks to an invisible forcefield wall.  Now they must find a safe place to hide before the Turok-Hans find them first.

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Emilia chucked another stone at the forcefield working out the central point.

15:12, Today: Emilia Grey rolled 9 using 1d10. Inteligence roll.  (Intelligence is 4 so scored either a 13 or a 17 depending on if I would double it or not.)

"Ok lets see if we can work out what is making this thing and then see if we can get the heck out of dodge." She said pulling out a road map to work out the location of the center.

"Turok Han first. I can take them one or two at a time, but I need a chokepoint to take them down in numbers greater then that. We need to find somewhere with a lot of narrow hallways so they can't use their numbers. Back in the car! A house owned by someone good enough to keep me out would also do as a place to hide for you folks."

Just thoughts.

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Emilia paused "What the heck are Torokhan?" She asked, looking a little confused "Some other kind of demon?"

(OCC: how come's that first turok han was such a bad ass but the others fell like regular vampires, heck even Andrew managed to take out a couple!)

She looked in the wing mirror of the car and started to touch up her make-up, <purple>"If they are such bad asses why fight them, running away and keeping running away sounds like a good idea.",/purple>

Emilia's calculations conclude that the centerpoint is the high school, right where the Turok-Hans are.

OCC: Your final score is 15 (intelligence plus knowledge plus dice roll)

Annabelle pulls herself together and walks over to Emilia.  She grabs her by both shoulders andlooks her in the eye.

"Emilia, a Turok-Han is a kind of vampire, the kind the other vampires fear.  I didn't bring them up before, because I know this was a lot for you to accept all at once.  I was hoping we could leave town and you could live the rest of your life without ever seeing one.  But unfortunatley that's not going to happen now. Have you ever seen the movie Nosferatu?  Think of that vampire, except scarier.

"Oh..." Emilia paused, "And we know where they are and where they are coming from? And just as a guess it's going to be about the center of this force field?" Emilia sighed, I've had a pretty good life I suppose She thought to herself, "Don't suppose anyone of you knows any mojo that might get us out of this?" She asked

Annabelle looks at the field, then back to Emilia.  "Unfortunately, they don't teach you about invulnerable force walls in Slayer school.  That book you have may hold a counterspell if the field is generated by magic.  But even then, we would almost certainly need magical ingredients of some sort. Our best course of action now is to find a safe haven until sunrise and possibly find a solution to escape.

She turns to the other three."Well, what's it going to be?  What is our best option for shelter?  A private residence does us no good, since the Turok-Hans aren't bound by the invitation rule, but Michael is. If we do that, the likely outcome is Emilia and I being mauled by Turok-Hans inside the house, while Michael remains outside unable to come in and save us.

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Emilia thought about it for a moment and returned to the car to pull out her map, "There is a military base near Sunnydale, if it's not outside the forcefield we might be able to get refuge there." She shrugged, "Even if it's abandoned there might be some ordinance we can use." She said with a wicked grin.

"Right then.  Military base it is.  If we can reach it and someone is still there, they can help us.  If not, well even if we can find even one flamethrower left behind, that would considerably improve our chances."

She reaches her hand out for the map from Emilia.  "You drive, I'll navigate.  They can follow us in the police cruiser."she said indicating the rest of the group.

Graham grimaces at the thought of visiting the military base. "I don't know that we have time for that. It might be easier to bed down somewhere else for the night and try the base in the morning.  Especially with a stolen police cruiser in tow.  My parents house would still be viable as a place to stay."

Re: Episode 1 - 8

"Army base, huh? Well, I suppose there are some kinds of explosives that would save us quite a bit of work. Particular thermal explosives, napalm, that kind of thing. Anything that burns would do us a great deal of good. Fire is one of the few things that'll get rid of Turok Han. And if they don't die right away, they can't regenerate fire damage quickly."

Best part about fire...it allows a war of attrition to be weighted more on the side of the heroes.

""Then it's settled then.  The military base it is.  I wouldn't worry about our  stolen police vehicle,  at least until morning.  With the Turok-Hans now having the run of the town, the police will be in for the night.

Annabelle takes the map from Emilia and climbs into the passenger side of the rental car.  "Let's get going then."

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Emilia got in the car and started it up.

(OCC: i thinking of the army base they visited in the TV series in the episodes with the JUDGE and then later on to fight the Mayor)

She turned the car around on the fourth attempt, "Heck even if conventional weapons can't kill these Shaka Khan's then well if we blow of their legs we can at least run away from them easier." She smiled, "Failing that we lead them all to a petrol station and blow it up." She glanced across and Annabelle, "Oh come on sweetie I bet you've always wanted to see one go up?"

Re: Episode 1 - 8

Several minutes later, both vehicles have made it to the army base without interference.

The good news is the base is on their side of the invisible wall.

The bad news is it has been closed down.  Big sign on the front noting it closed by the US military.  High fence with barbed wire on top, but doesn't appear to be electrified or have any other kind of trap.

Front gate is held shut by several yards on chains.  Someone with super strength may be able to break them.

OCC: That's the base I'm thinking of too Emilia.  The one we saw in season two where they got the rocket launcher to shoot at the Judge.

"Well this might be as good a place to hold up as any." Emilia suggested, "And who knows maybe they left a huge crate marked flamethowers behind." She said with a shrug, she doubted it, however the american military were know to be rather wasteful with their equipment, it's what you got when you took uneducated and gave them a gun. Her friend Hazza had told her that when he had been in Iraq his airborn had come across a whole camp abandoned, complete with blimp, supplies and american footballs and strange enough beer. He had told her that his platoon had enjoyed the rations they had left behind. The British rations sucked where as the americans got all the toys.

"Good show Emilia.  You got us here without wrecking the vehicle, I think you're getting the hang of this driving thing."Annabelle said as she climbed out of the passenger side.  She surveyed the base and looked disappointed.  "I was hoping it was still operational.  We could tell them we were being pursued by terrorists.  That's all it takes to put a bug up the bum of the American military these days.

She takes a closer look at the chains on the gate.  "Well, this doesn't look too difficult if you have persons with supernatural strength in your party.  Would one of you come over here and break these chains so we can enter?"she shouts at the three in the police car.

Something about that smile must've thrown him off, for he had a really bad grip on the chains. Nonetheless, he figured he'd be strong enough to do this anyway...

Mike pulls on the chains. Despite his lackluster effort, it is enough to do the job.  The chains break, allowing the gates to be easily opened.

The group now has access to the base.

Moments later, once they've moved their two vehicles inside the gates, Annabelle surveys the base.  "Right then.  Let's stick close together, we don't know if any vampires may be hiding here.  See if we can find the armory and maybe some weapons left behind.

She looks at Graham.  "Well, this is your area of expertise.  Where do you think the armory might be?"

"Are these shaka khan's part blood hound or something? How could they track us this far away?" She asked, then looked at the car with a smile, "Are there any narrow single entrance ways? a bottleneck as it were, but not too bottled." She said with a smile, "If these things are coming as you suspect we could flood a courtyard with the car's fuel, set up a fuse of some sort and then watch as the courtyard burns' baby burns with the Ala Zulu's in it." She turned to Annabelle, "You said fire worked right?"

"That's Turok-Hans Emila, Turok-Hans.  Or you can call them ubervamps if you prefer."Annabelle said without missing a beat, seemingly unfazed by Emilia's enthusiastic interest in fire.  "Yes, fire works.  In fact we were in the process of burning down the high school with the Turok-Hans in it before the corrupt local constabulary showed up and stopped us.  Then they locked us inside with the monsters, but we managed to escape before running into the biggest lot of them. We procured the police vehicle shortly there afterwards, which is about the time you showed up.Annabelle continued, still walking though the base, looking for where the armory might be.

"I don't know the full range of their tracking ability, but with the town nearly empty, there aren't a lot of competing human scents interfering. You've got a bloody good idea actually, we can lure some of them into a pool of gasoline, then light it up. Annabelle said with a gleam in her eye. "Give them an advance preview of the fires of hell which they will soon be experiencing."
