At the magic store:

But before the girls can make another move, they notice they are not alone.

Outside the shop, you see four shadowy forms, spread several feet apart.  The glare from the street lights gives you enough of a look at their faces.  Pale white skin, symbols where eyes should, and wearing black robes.

Bringers.  Looks like not all of them are at the base.

If Annabelle and Emilia want to leave they will have to go through them.

At the base:

"Yes, yes.  Gangs on PCP.  That is a big problem in Sunnydale.  Perhaps you two civilians can tell us how you came to be involved in all this."the police chief says as he and his two men maintain a safe distance.

"Oh crumbs!  Emilia we've got to get out of here now!  Come on, let's look for a backway exit."Annabelle says grabbing Emilia by the arm and heading for the back of the magic store, hoping to find a back door.

Emilia pulled out the flare gun and aimed at the entrance way, "How do they see?" She asked, 'Probably something unbelievable she thought to herself' She backed up standing back to back with Annabelle "Not vampires I take it?"

She searched around for a weapon of some sort that didn't involve letting off a starburst flare inside an enclosed shop.


09:26, Today: Emilia Grey rolled 6 using 1d10+5. Searching... Searching.

(OCC: ugh this girl just shouldn't search for things)

Stumbling around looking for anything she found a jar of chicken feet, "This?" She asked then shook her head realizing how dumb that was.

Mike shook his head.

"There's little time for that, officer. There's two girls who ran off by themselves into the hellhole that is Sunnydale without adequate support by people who can fight off...gangs on PCP. May I humbly suggest we find them first, then discuss things?"

Saving lives has to take priority.

At the magic shop:

Emilia fails to find anything useful as a weapon. The girls find a back door, open it to find another door right in front of them and a stairway going upwards to their left.  They open the second door to find the back exit to the store.

And two Bringers waiting for them at this exit too.




At the base: "Alright, everybody in the police cruiser.  Let's go find these two girls."the chief says as he and the two cops head back to the car.

"You two go with the chief.  I can't abandon my post."the lieutenant says.

Annabelle slams and locks the door then scrambles to the left up the stairs.
"Come on Emilia!  Hopefully this stairway leads to the roof!"she shouted.

"No those are not vampires.  They are what you call Bringers.  They have the mystical ability to see despite having no eyes, so a blinding attack will do us no good.  They are nowhere near as powerful as vampires, but as you can see they carry big knives."Annabelle shouts as she dashes up the stairs."If we can get to the roof where they can only come at us from the doorway, we may have a chance."

Emilia puffed to keep up with Annabelle as she ran away, still holding the flare gun, "What about fire it still burns them right?" She said slightly out of breath, She followed Annabelle as best she could,

At the magic shop:

The girls reach the top of the stairs and find the door luckily unlocked.  They come out to find themselves on the roof with a good view, they went up three flights of stairs and are now on top of a three story building.

You don't hear the sound of thundering footsteps behind you, the Bringers haven't been able to break down the locked door.  Yet.

"Yes fire works against them and so do grenades."Annabelle says as she reaches into Emilia's bag and pulls out one of the grenades she previously stashed there.  "I'll cover the door, if any Bringers come pouring out, they'll get an unpleasant surprise.  Why don't you use the flare gun for its intended purpose and signal for help.  They should be able to see it from the base.  Or in the unlikely event the police are out tonight, they'll show up and shoot the Bringers for being on drugs. That's what they've done to everyone else so far.

Mike got in the cruiser...he had to have some faith this guy was the real deal, and wouldn't delay him from getting to the enemy. However, he wasn't completely trusting...he sat down in the front seat of the car, just in case...

A minute later, the police crusier pulled out with its five occupants leaving the lieutenant behind on the base.

"Where do we start looking?  Any idea where those girls might have gone?"asks the chief.

"Well, he last thing I heard them wanting to do was...get ahold of some occult paraphanalia...should probably head to stores that sell that stuff first.

It's the only way he can explain it.

"Okay boys, let's head for the nearest occult shop. Don't turn on the lights and the siren, let's keep a low profile."said the chief as the police cruiser picked up speed away from the base and into town.

"We know where the occult shops are in town.  A lot of kids on drugs are into that stuff as well."

Emilia let the flare gun off the huge explosion lighting up the nights sky "Just hope we haven't told every vampire where we are" She said looking around and reloading the flaregun

The flare goes up high in the air.

In the police cruiser on its way to Sunnydale, the chief shouts;"Look at that flare!  It has to be those two girls signaling for help!  Head for the flare!"The policeman driving presses the pedal as the cruiser speeds to the site of the flare's origin.

The four Bringers up front gain access to the magic shop, not difficult since the girls had already dealt with the front lock.  They quickly head for the back and unlock that door allowing their two comrades in. Then the six Bringers race up the stairs, one after the other. They reach the locked door leading to the roof, but after some quick stabbing action, they get through the lock.

The door flies open as the first Bringer comes through the door. Luckily, the doorway is narrow, so only one can come through at a time.   The first Bringer looks over at Annabelle and Emilia, his knife shining under the moonlight.

OCC:Combat thread time for Annabelle and Emilia.  Mike and Buffybot can't join in yet because they have not arrived.  Police car should be pulling up to the store by next round.

"No!  Don't hurt us!  We're just girls!  Here, I'll give you this nice faberge egg if you leave us alone!"Annabelle shouts as she tosses the grenade at the lead Bringer.  "Get down Emilia!"she shouts as she turns away from the blast zone.

The grenade didn't quite land where she wanted, but close enough as it exploded knocking the first Bringer back, and the shockwave rattled his comrades as well.

As Annabelle threw the grenade Emilia ducked behind the door, "Fire in the hole!" She said then waited till after the explosion to fire her flare gun down the narrow hallway, hitting the first Bringer who was an easy target due to still being rattled by Annabelle's grenade toss.  The flare exploded into his chest sending him crashing back into the other Bringers.

The combination of the grenade blast and the first Bringer going down from the flare shot give the girl's time to catch their breath.

And for the police cruiser to make the scene as it screechs to a halt in front of the magic store (they something is up since they just heard the grenade blast)  Everyone in the car can see Annabelle and Emilia up on the roof, no sign of Bringers from their vantage point, but they see the front door wide open.

But now the second Bringer closest to the top manages climb over the first and make it out to the roof as he runs to attack the girls.

OCC:Combat thread for everybody.  One Bringer coming at Annabelle and Emilia, the others are bottlenecked on the stairway due to the first one being down from the flare shot. Mike and Buffybot can come up the stairs and attack the Bringers at the rear.

If Buffybot wanted a sneak surprise this would easily a golden oppourtunity. She nods at Mike and begins her melee attack something that she does the best. "Is this a private party or can we cut in?"Hopefully the Bringer trapped in the rear don't know YET what hit them.


Mike ran in silently, wanting to attack with surprise. If they didn't hear him coming, he might be able to do significantly more damage then they think they can do. And then he decks the closes bringer in the back of the head. Twice!

But the last two Bringers in the line are easy prey as they were focused on getting up to the roof, and were victims of the pounding attacks by Mike and Buffybot. Both Bringers quickly go tumbling down the stairs and land at the bottom.

Their presence now revealed, three of the four Bringers turn to deal with the two heroes, their knives ready for action.

Emilia saw the bringer approaching, realizing she had never been in a fight herself her two or three lessons at Tai Quon Do not withstanding she attempted to kick the Bringer as he came up the stairs then prepared to defend against the counter attack.

Annabelle rushed in after Emilia, aiming a spin kick at the Bringer.  Best to finish this fast, although they won't with the lack of skill they just displayed. Annabelle grimaced internally, as she observed Emilia's unimpressive kick followed by her pathetic one.


The Bringers easily evaded Emilia's attack, but Bringers aren't nearly as fast as Turok-Hans making him easy prey for Annabell's unremarkable spin kick.

But he's still got some fight left in him as he moves in with his knife towards Annabelle and drives the knife into her stomach. He quickly withdraws the knife, now covered in copious amounts of Annabelle's blood.

Meanwhile you hear two gunshots coming from the bottom of the stairs, sounds like the cops finished off the two Bringers at the bottom.

OCC: Back to the combat thread for everyone. 26 points of damage to Annabelle.  Four Bringers still left, one on the roof, three coming after Mike and Buffybot in the stairway.

Annabelle stepped back and put her hands on the  wound, then looked at the large amounts of blood on her hands.  You see stark raving fear in her eyes.

For about a second.

She looks over at Emilia, then back to the blood on her hands, then to the Bringer.  "You arrogant bastard!  You think a lowly sychophant like you will be the end of me?!"Her fear is now replaced by rage.  After all she's been through, no single Bringer will get the best of her.

You can hear her growl as she charges across the roof and tackles the Bringer, driving him back several inches before bringing him to the ground.  The Bringer drops his knife, losing his grip from the impact.

"oh my god oh my god!" Emilia screamed looking at the blood pouring from her new friend, shaken and rattled she felt her heart pumping in her head drowning out the world around her as Annabelle slam tackled the Bringer both of them falling down the staircase Emilia startled and shaken remained frozen to the spot unable to move.

Mike could smell the blood easily. Vampires can always smell blood, particularly in copius amounts like that. Suddenly supremely motivated to deck bringers like there's no tomorrow, he punches out the next one in front of him as he hurries on to save the girls.

"Out of my way!" he screams as yet another Bringer is overwhelmed by his punches and goes tumbing down the stairs.

Buffybot let Mike do the talking for now. Her processors figured out that he was already in the zone. She focuses her attention on the next Bringer who already knows their presence.  The Bringer seemed to superhumanly dodge her attack, then the two Bringers both moved forward with their knives each stabbing the robot in the midsection. Sparks flew from both of the open wounds.

Both Bringers look at each other, confused.  What is she?!

Downstairs you hear another gunshot, as the cops finish off the Bringer Mike knocked down the stairs.

Mike makes it to the roof to find Annabelle bleeding profusely, but on top of
one bringer while Emilia is standing a few feet away in a state of shock.

OCC: Back to the combat thread. 26 points of damage to Buffybot.  Three Bringers left, one on the roof currently downed by Annabelle's tackle, two more on the stairs engaging Buffybot.

With the Bringer now down in front of her, Annabelle reaches forward with both hands and to grabs the Bringer around the neck.

"How did you like that you nancy ninja boy?  I've got more!"she said with a gleam in her eye, oblivious to the her loss of blood at the moment.

Priorities. Mike was fairly certain the bot could take care of itself. These two girls, not so much. Despite the face Anna had the guy pinned and grappled, he decided to help her out by savagely kicking the downed bringer in the head a couple times.  Wham!  Wham! The Bringers's head makes a cracking sound as Mike's powerful feet connect.

Then he turned, ready to pin the other bringers between himself and the bot. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide...

Managing to control herself for a moment Emilia kicked the Bringers head as Annabelle was strangling him. Wham!  This Bringer is definitely finished as his head now resembles a soccer ball losing air.


Buffybot took some damage and she wasn't happy at all. She snarls a bit and she needed to keep her secret just a bit longer as far as the Bringer were concerned. "Ok Ugly youre not going anywhere!"  The robot punches one Bringer twice, sending him tumbling down the stairs.  But the other one is still fresh as he once again drives his knife into her midsection creating a third wound.

Blam!  Another gunshot.  The cops are doing their part to finish off the Bringers, the heroes send down the stairs.


OCC:13 points of damage to Buffybot.  One Bringer left on the stairs with Mike on one side of him, Buffybot on the other.

With the threat of the Bringers on the roof dealt with, Annabelle picks herself up and examines her wound.  Then she attends to the next order of business, keep Emilia from getting hysterical again. Michael should be able to finish off the remaining Bringers with a minimum of fuss.

"Emilia, everything's okay.  It's not as bad as it looks.  It's like when you get a tiny paper-cut that just keeps on bleeding.  We'll get a bandage on it and I'll be just peachy.






OCC: Annabelle spending an I think I'm okay drama point.

Mike saw the Bringer manage to damage the bot yet again. Quite sick of Bringers and their knives, he lands another of his double punch combos at the back of the bringer, intending to send him flying down the stairs to the cops, who were doing an admirable job of launching coup de gras.


Buffybot was eager to dish out the damage as opposed to taking it. With the last Bringer between the two of them she is hoping that a quick double team would drop the last hostile so the cops can finish them off. Her blow connects this time.

The double team attack overwhelms the last Bringer as he goes flying down the stairs.

BLAM!  And another cop's bullet finishes the job.


OCC: That's all of them, back to the regular thread.

Mike headed back up to check on the girls. Even if the wound wasn't as deep as he originally thought it was, that BLOODSMELL was everywhere. Irritated that the smell was making him hungry, he growled out, "So, has a lesson been learned about running off yet? We've already had people die doing this..."

What fools these mortals be...
