Re: Episode 1-10

Buffybot looks back at Mike. She didn't want to tip things out of control. She is more of a woman of action and will leave the diplomacy to someone far more qualified. Still something HAD to be said. "I hope the shopping stop was relevant because things would've gone badly. WHAT IN THE HELLMOUTH WERE YOU THINKING?! I don't know how you do this on the other side of the pond but here the rules are different."She looks at Annabelle and Emilia.

Re: Episode 1-10

Emilia smiled "Well mission accomplished, we've got some magic sand that can dust vampires, if this had been an attack from vampires we probably could been ok, unfortunately these guys aren't the same." Her hands were still shaking as she looked at Annabelle again, if the young girl had died Emilia would probably have been next, "More importantly how the heck are we going to get out of this place."

Re: Episode 1-10

Annabelle glares at the sparks popping out of the wounds of Buffybot's chest then makes eye contact with the robot."I have one stab wound to your three.  You have nothing to crow about."

"I think we're okay Emilia."she said turning to her friend.  "Michael has nothing better to do than chastise us, so all the Bringers have been dealt with, now....................

Annabelle freezes in mid-sentence as she looks down onto the street and sees the police car.  "Oh my God!!  More psychotic police have shown up!!  I thought those gunshots were from the military men you brought!!  They've finished off the Bringers and now they'll come for us!  We've got to find away off the roof!"

OCC:Remember the lieutenant sent the girls out of the room before the phone call, they don't know the cops are on our side.

Re: Episode 1-10

"No young lady, we're the good cops."

You all turn to the sound of the voice and see the chief exiting the stairway up to the rooftop.

"As I explained to your friends, we're the real cops, the good cops.  We think there are some criminals posing as police officers in Sunnydale."
he says as he steps closer to Annabelle."First things first, we need to get that wound patched up.  We've got first aid supplies in our cruiser and we can call the paramedics if necessary."

Re: Episode 1-10

Annabelle cautiously approached the chief and let him lead her down the stairs.
"It's not as bad as it looks, your first aid kit should be sufficient."

She made it a point to keep her distance from Michael.  Ensouled or not, blood was still blood.  Putting fresh human blood in front of him was like waving a six pack in front of a recovering alcoholic.

Re: Episode 1-10

Part of the reason Mike was grumpy about them running off is that they got injured, bloodily. And bloodsmell reminded him of what he was. He wasn't a 'superhero' using his powers for the greater good. He was a vampire, cursed, and using power meant for destruction to save people. But bloodsmell reminded him of the kind of destruction he was supposed to be bringing.

He kept his distance from Annabelle too, grumbling about, "Idiots who run off getting themselves hurt...should learn a lesson about that..."

Re: Episode 1-10

The chief turns to the other three before escorting Annabelle down.

"Does anyone else need.................what the hell is that??!!"
he says drawing his gun and pointing it at Buffybot, now that he's just gotten a good look at her wounded chest and sees machinery where there should be blood.

Re: Episode 1-10

Mike said, rather blandly, "A tactical war machine on loan from the military. They use machines like this against opponents against which conventional military tactics are of little use. It looks like a young girl in order to operate in public with minimal fuss. Most people would freak if they saw the terminator walking down the street, ya know."

It should sound vaguely reasonable.

Re: Episode 1-10

The chief continues to point his gun, without batting an eye, then he lowers it ever so slightly.

"What was that?  Run that by me again."

OCC:Mike needs to make an influence roll to see if the chief believes that explanation.  Intelligence plus influence skill plus d10.

(It'll be close... 18:05, Today: Michael Smith rolled 11 using 1d10+6. Influence?)

Mike nodded patiently, and said, "Very top secret project. Even the Lieutenant didn't know at the base. There was someone on the base who did, but he didn't survive the recent attack on it."

Re: Episode 1-10

The chief pauses for a couple of seconds (but seems like a couple of hours to Mike)
then; "Makes sense.  And I've seen stranger things in this town."

He turns back to Annabelle and helps her down the stairs.  "Come on young lady, we're going to get that wound taken care of."

Re: Episode 1-10

Well now, Michael missed his true calling.  He could have had a bright future in politics pulling off falsehoods like that.Annabelle thought to herself.

Or maybe the police were just morons, Mr. Giles alluded that fact when she arrived in Sunnydale.  She walked with the chief downstairs and notices two other policeman cleaning up the Bringer bodies.  She was suprised Michael didn't come back with some of the soliders unless there was something going on at the base he hasn't mentioned yet.

Re: Episode 1-10

Twenty minutes later, Annabelle's stab wound has been bandaged and she is now wearing a nifty black Sunnydale police t-shirt instead of the soaked in blood shirt she borrowed from the Summers house.

The two cops have lined gathered up the Bringer bodies on the floor of the magic store and covered them with a sheet.

The chief is talking on his cell phone, moments later he hangs up and looks at Mike.  "I need to speak to you alone for a moment."

Re: Episode 1-10

The chief leads Mike a few yards away from everyone else so they can talk alone.  "You no doubt have figured out that Sunnydale isn't like other towns.  We're aware of that too at the police department. The "gangs on PCP" is just our cover story, which most people are more than willing to buy. Until we figure out a way to crack that dome, we're going to keep on protecting the civilians that are here. Now we're going to take you and your friends to a safehouse for the night, we use it to keep government witnesses safe and I'll post an officer to stand guard until morning when the vampires go back inside.

Mike nods for a moment, and says, "So you do know. I try not to be the first person to bring up supernatural occurances. Yeah, I've been fighting them too. At the military base, before that...for a while now. The Lieutenant knows too, if you were wondering. However, all his men are dead, and he's alone on that base now. I'm not convinced it's a great idea to leave him there by himself. Too many things can go wrong. Safehouse is a great idea, we'll take it. But don't be afraid to call me for backup if you need it. I'm used to dealing with unnatural opponents."

Re: Episode 10

The chief nods, "We'll get you there in a minute.  I've called for another unit to get over here, a police car can't transport seven. I'll see what I can do about getting the lieutenant to get somewhere safe, but those military guys are difficult about the whole leaving their post thing.  Watch out for those two girls, two non-American minors and we can't contact their parents much less get them home.  I'll feel a lot better once we figure a way out of this dome and get them on the other side of the Atlantic.

The chief glances in Buffybot's direction then back to Mike.  "You want to leave the robot here?  Or have my men gun it down?  I'm not sure you can trust that thing, especially with it being damaged.  It may turn on you, circuits could malfunction and it may think you and those girls are the enemy."

Mike shook his head. "Those are only knife wounds it's suffered, most of which are on the torso. Most of the OS mechanics are located elsewhere, mostly in improbable locations. The point is that an enemy won't know where to stab unless they know how it's designed. Even a shot to the head won't do what you think it will. Anyway, it's a self repairing model. It's taken damage before, and the damage goes away with time. Nanomachines, or something like that."

"All of you climb into one of the police cars, we are taking you to a safe location to spend the night."

Annabelle takes Emilia by the wrist and pulls her into the back of the newly arrived police car.  "We'll take this one!"she shouts as she climbs in the back and looks down at her newly acquired Sunnydale PD t-shirt.

"My wardrobe status just keeps getting lower and lower today.  Emilia, be a peach and loan me something out of your luggage once we reacquire it."

As usual, he and the bot seem to get one car, and the two girls seem to insist on taking the other car. Well, that's for the best. No matter how well bandaged Anna was, he could still smell her blood from way over here. At least the bot didn't have blood.

Re: Episode 10

The chief answers Buffybot as he climbs into the car with her and Mike.  I'll send a man or two over to the base tonight to watch the lieutenant.  Like I told your friend, getting him to leave his post would be near impossible."

The two police cars pull out and ten minutes later pull into the Sunnydale's upscale neighborhood finally pulling up in front of a two story house. The house looks expensive and the lawn has been recently cut, no unsightly overgrown yard.  "The family that lived here died unexpectedly and the police department purchased the house, we use it for hiding witnesses and such.  Most of the funishings are still in the house."says the chief as he leads them up to the front door.

The chief has a key for the front door, he enters and says "Come on in, make yourselves at home. Don't worry about the lack of electricity in town, this house has an emergency generator" he says to everyone behind him as he turns on the lights.

Michael will have now have no trouble entering, since the house is owned by the police department, the chief has the capacity to invite him in.

Re: Episode 10

Emilia looked around the house at the entered, it was a little garish but then most american households were, it seemed to be a mixture of class and crass, she sighed and shook her head when she noticed an abstract painting upside down. "Guest it will have to do darlings."
