Re: Episode 2-6

Mike shrugged, "When everything went worse then anyone could've predicted, Angel sent me in here for damage control, as he can't leave LA. Though I don't even know if he's still...existing at the moment. I can tell you none of his friends who were here made it."

Re: Episode 2-6

Annabelle's eyes lit up at the sound of this man's voice and the sight of his bow and arrows.  Listening to his conversation with Michael further indicated he knew about the existence of vampires. A fellow British person who knew the truth about vampires.  Could he be a watcher?

"I'm from London sir.  I'm Annabelle Berkshire, that's Michael Smith and I suggest we get indoors before a vampire or demon spots us. she says pointing to entrance to The Fish Tank.

"I'll vouch for Michael.  He's not like other vampires.  He has a soul.  And overly sensitive hearing for a vampire as well.  He can even hear normal human breathing during sleep from across a room. she says ever so quickly glancing in Michael's direction before turning back to the Fish Tank entrance.

"Come this way sir.  Your motorbike can fit through the entrance.  Once we're safely indoors, we'll bring you up to speed on everything going on."

Re: Episode 2-6

"Very well Annabelle. Let us go inside." He gestures towards the doorway indicating that he will follow. "And call me Aaron, not sir." He turns off the idling engine on his bike and pushes it into the bar, rolling it to one side where it will be out of the way.

He reaches over the back of his bike and detaches his quiver, then pulls a scabarded sword from the side of the bike too. "From your expressions it seems like I may have need of this. So Micheal. You know Angel well?" Giles had been ambivalent over the vampire, but his actions seemed altruistic since moving to Los Angeles.

"He sired me. An accident of Willow's magic is how I ended up like this. Part of that long story. But yes, he should be in Los Angeles messing with Wolfram and Hart still."

Mike heads back inside.

"And good luck getting any sleep. Her snoring keeps the undead awake. I'm sure mortals fare no better. You're doomed. Doomed forever."

"Michael!  Aaron doesn't need to hear us prattling on about that!  We have far more important matters to discuss."

After making sure the front entrance is secure, Annabelle takes her seat back at the bar again.  "Would you like some tea Aaron?  I was just about to make a pot for myself.   And I see (as she glances at the television) that we now have Dr. Who on the telly.  Now then, Michael is not the only extra ordinary being here.  I'm the vampire Slayer.  Do you know what that is Aaron?

"I'll pass on the tea thank you. I doubt very much that an establishment of this calibre would have any tea worth drinking." He blinks at mention of the slayer. "Yes. I've heard of the slayer. Few who spend much time studying the occult don't eventually hear of the slayer. 'One girl, in all the world, a Chosen One. One born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires, to stop the spread of their evil.'... I believe that's how it's written." Aaron speaks the lines as if quoting from memory. "And you say that you are she? I'm afraid that I will need some proof that you are what you say you are beyond simply your word." He does seem genuinely sorry to have to ask for evidence,  being that it is terribly rude to not take someone at thwir word.

Re: Episode 2-6

Despite the regretful tone in Aaron's voice, Annabelle doesn't seem at all offended.

"Yes of course.  You want proof and you shall have it."

Annabelle walks to the opposite side of the room.  After making certain, she has a clear path without any tables and chairs in her way, Annabelle somersaults across the bar room in a routine that would make an olympic gymnast green with envy.

She then lifts a table with one hand, deftly balancing it in the air without breaking a sweat before sitting it down.

"I hope that will suffice in proving my station.  So Aaron, are you a scholar of the occult?   I had first thought you might be a watcher, but that's clearly not the case. A watcher would surely be consulting their books by now and I see you didn't even bring any.

Aaron clears his throat as Annabelle finishes her demonstration. "Well, yes. I think that amply proves your point. I am somewhat a scholar of the occult yet I am also a Watcher. Although I suppose I may well be 'the' Watcher now, I have not heard from any of my contemporaries in some months now."

"But you seem to have already have met one of my colleagues at least. Many do seem to keep their noses buried in a book. I think you will find I am somewhat different and I have little need of books, I remember what I read."
His brows furrow in interest at Micheal's interjection. "Really? I have never heard of that, the Watcher's Diaries never mention anything about it at least. Although I doubt many ever had much chance to sit and converse with a vampire as we are."

"Anyway, back to the topic at hand. What do you know of Watchers and their duties Annabelle?"

"Probably an ecological thing. They're called 'Vampire Slayers.' Recognizing the unique scent of Slayer blood gives vampires an edge on avoiding their one and only natural predator. The flip side is that Slayer blood has some drastic healing properties on vampires. Angel told me a story about how Buffy once made him bite her to cure a vampire specific poison. It worked."

Re: Episode 2-6

Annabelle's jaw visibly drops.  A watcher with no books?!  What manner of creature is he??!! she thought, but quickly regained her composure as she walked back to her seat at the bar.  A watcher with no books.  Right then, I guess stranger things have happend.  I can't think of any right now, but I'm sure they're out there. she thought as she cleared her throat.

"Well Aaron, I'm what you call a Slayer in Training or Potential Slayer. I was identified as a potential Slayer by the Watcher's Council several years ago and was assigned a Watcher to train me for the day I might be called as the Slayer.  Which I now have.  As I'm sure you're aware, often when a Slayer is called she has no idea that vampires are real or what a Slayer is and spends a lot of whining about the whole thing and in denial about it until her traning can finally begin.  But in my case, we were able to bypass all that pesky nonsense and get right down to business.

Re: Episode 2-6

"Yes. I am quite aware. That is in fact the main reason that the Watchers search for individuals with the potential to become Slayers. If a girl is aware of the dangers of the supernatural before she is chosen then it makes things substantially easier for both her and her Watcher. But as you say. You already know most of this, so we can skip straight onto finding out who, why and how Sunnydale has been cut off."

Aaron then starts to ask questions, one after the other, with barely a pause. Probing for information. "The barrier seems to stop humans and vampires. Does it stop other creature too? Do you know whether it is cylindrical or spherical in shape? Have you searched the epicentre? Are their any particularly active groups in town currently? Any other factions? The place seems quite deserted but are there civilians still in town?..."

"Far as I know, it stops everything. Even birds can't get out. More to the immediate problem, the police force has been replaced by vampires...the normal kind, and there's no military left in town, the last one having been killed recently. We fought a duel with another variety of demons a while back...but I haven't seen 'em since. Sphere or cylinder, I couldn't tell you, all I can tell you is birds bounce off something. I haven't watched how high they might fly and if they bounce off a 'ceiling' or not in the middle of town."

"Quite correct. " Annabelle says nodding in Michael's direction.

"The vampire police force are our primary enemies at the moment.  I was thinking we could try to capture one and interrogate him for information about the size of their forces and what their ultimate goal may be.  We've also had to deal with an army of Turok-Hans, but have managed to whittle down their forces considerably.  Have you ever seen a Turok-Han Aaron?  Mr. Giles said he thought they were a myth until he actually saw one himself.  They are the vampires other vampires fear.  And they are quite real I assure you."

Re: Episode 2-6

The group conversation is interrupted by the sound of a police crusier siren.

You all rush to the front window of The Fish Tank and crack a window blind for a look.

One Turok-Han is running down the street towards The Fish Tank........and runs right past it.  He is  quickly followed by a single police cruiser, sirens blaring that drives down the street past The Fish Tank and after the Turok-Han.

WHAM! The cruiser collides with the ubervamp knocking him to the ground.  Two vamp cops get out (no doubt since they have their vamp faces on).  Both are carrying familiar looking taser rifles that you all saw at the Initiative base. One cops blasts the Turok as he gets up. It slows him down, but he keeps coming.  Second blast: ZAP!  That did it.  The Turok is on the street, unconcious.

The two vamp cops approach the Turok, and slap the cuffs on him (that's right they slapped the cuffs on a Turok-Han) and pick up his unconcious body and load him in the trunk of the cruiser before getting back in the front seat and driving off.

The cops were talking as they "arrested" the Turok.  You may or may not have picked up some of the conversation.

OCC: Anyone who wants to know what the vamp cops might have said, make a perception plus notice roll so see if you picked any of it up. Mike would get a +2 to the roll with his vamp hearing.

Re: Episode 2-6

The glass in the windows of The Fish Tank are thicker than usual. The owner needed more durable windows after he had to keep replacing them due to thrown objects (and people) constantly crashing through them.

Mike is the only one able to pick up anything:

"You have the right to remain silent, you have the right...."

"He can't hear you Charlie and wouldn't understand you if he was awake."

"Yeah, but it's still funny.  Well, that's four of them.  We have what we need."

"I'll let the rest of the guys know, we're gonna have a blast at the high school gym tonight.  Half the force will be there!"

Then with, the Turok locked in the trunk, the vamp cops drive off.

Mike relates what he heard.

"They've been rounding up Turok Han, and apparently they've got 4 of those remaining. There's going to be some kind of party in the high school gym, presumably including both the undead police force and the Turok Han. 'Half the force will be there' he aid.

I should remind everyone, if we decided to crash this party, both the cops and the Turok Han will try to kill us, and half the force being there means we'll be drastically outnumbered.

Annabelle puts her hand to her chin as she ponders this information.

"If half the force is at the school gymnasium, then they won't be anywhere else. This could be a golden opportunity for us to strike police headquarters directly.  Perhaps we can get some information on the size of their forces. At the very least we might be able to reclaim our supplies from them.

She stares at Michael for a moment, hoping he remembers what she's talking about.

"Remember Michael, we gathered up a nice cache of food, weapons, and occult books  at the Summers house before the police took possession of it.  We could get it back.

Then turning to the Watcher; "What do you think Aaron?  What's our next move?"

"Well, while both options have merit, I think that supplies are our pressing concern at the moment. If there were a few more of us I would suggest we might reconnoitre the school as well. But that is beyond our means for the moment. I think we should be careful however; the police station is likely to have more than a few vampires. Plus if they have police training and equipment they will likely be a formidable threat."

"Regain our supplies? We could, but it might lead them back to our new hiding place. And then we're running again.

However, if you're willing to accept that risk, let's do it. It's safer then hitting the party without...well, enough TNT to blow the place. Vampires do still die if their heads get blown off by concussive force or shrapnel.

"It's settled then.  We proceed to police headquarters and try to reclaim our cache of supplies and possibly interrogate a vampire policeman for information. We'll just have to be extra careful to ensure we're not followed back here.

She looks around The Fish Tank.  "This place isn't much but................well, it isn't much. It's greatest strength as a hiding place is no one with a kilogram of good taste would think to come here.

Re: Episode 2-6

Twenty minutes later, the foursome are peering around the corner of the building one block away from Sunnydale PD headquarters.  They proceeded on foot so as not to attract any attention from any passing police cruisers on the way.

The police building is rather quiet.  No vamp cops outside and only three police cars in the front parking lot.

Then the front door opens and two cops walk out.  They get into one of the cruisers and drive off, now only two police cars in the front parking lot.
