Re: Episode 2-6

Annabelle looks around the room and pounds her right fist into her left hand.

"Blast it!  Stab our eyes!  We should have kept one police vehicle operational.  Then we could have taken our cache out the front entrance, quietly loaded it into one vehicle and be long gone before they knew we were here.  Now we'll have to carry it all back to our sanctuary on foot.

Re: Episode 2-6

Mike searches the supplies and finds no blood.  The vamp cops likely found it and drank it.

Aaron finds no sign-in book for the property room. Perhaps it's in the room with the cops watching TV. Or misplaced.  If the watcher was a Sunnydale native, he would know the Sunnydale PD aren't known for their efficiency and intelligence.

Just then you hear two different voices getting closer.  They are coming from the opposite side you entered, meaning two or more cops likely came in through the front entrance.

Then you hear one voice say:

"Hey, lights are on in the property room. "

Then two cops (regular cops, not swat team) appear in the doorway.

"Ha!  We've been looking all over town for them and they've been right here!  You're all under arrest!"

OCC: Combat thread time.  Two vamp cops to deal with. If you can dispose of them quickly and quietly, the vamp cops in the other part of the station won't hear.

Re: Episode 2-6

Oh crumbs!  Atrocious timing. Need to finish these two before the others are alerted. Annabelle thought as rushed across the room to the closest vamp cop.

She nailed a high kick at his jaw, then thrust her stake into his heart.

Thok!  Foom!  He explodes to dust.

Mike, in a daring, risky move to prevent the alarm from being raised, went straight for the stake. Ignoring defensive needs, he launched at the first with his stake and great strength, and poked him till he poofed...

Thok!  Foom!  One thrust was enough to do it as he exploded to dust.

"Arrest?! Youre the one that's going to be taking a rest! So as the lady said you aren't leaving!"Buffybot attempts to get to the second vamp cop but, he's dust by the times he gets there.

At the sound of the police behind him Aaron brings his bow arouond in a fluid, practiced motion. He takes a heartbeat to aim at the closest vampire before loosing the shot, trying to avoid his allies in the press.  The arrow sailed perfectly, but passed through a cloud of dust, as the vamp was already slain by the time it got there, and hit the opposite wall.

No loud noise from the other side of the station, you've finished these two without alerting the others.

OCC: Back to the main thread.  Couple of good stake rolls by Annabelle and Mike, and that's a quick fight.

Mike chuckled.

"Well done. So, if you had any further doubts about her identity, Aaron, I trust they're gone now."

Annabelle exhaled in relief.  "Good show yourself." she said to Michael before turning to the watcher.

"Yes Aaron, if there was any shred of doubt left, I hope this has firmly established my Slayer credentials.  Now then, I suggest we not press our luck and gather up our supplies and leave post haste before more vampire police come this route. Annabelle finished as she began to gather up what she good carry of their supplies.

"I already had no doubts on that account." Aaron says this as he moves to retrieve his arrow from where it embedded itself in the wall. "You are also right, we should leave as quickly as we can." He also begins to stoop and gather up what he can of the supplies, making sure to collect the books first. Knowledge could be power in a situation like this.

Re: Episode 2-6

Moments later the foursome has their arms full with their confiscated supplies, as they exit the property room.

Just then a vampire cop comes around a corner from several yards away from the back of the station (he was one of the vamps in the back watching TV).  "Holy crap!  They're here!"

He quickly dashes back around the corner from where he came.  You can no longer see him, but you  can hear him talking on his radio:  "Fugitives are here in the station!  Fugitives are in the station! They just left the property room! Need back up now!!

OCC: So........are you going to make a run for it out the front entrance and try to escape?
Or follow that lone cop around the corner with more vamp cops on the way from that direction?

Annabelle watches the lone vamp cop disappear around the corner and call for help.

"I don't know how many friends he has on the way and I don't care to find out.  Exit stage right." she finished making a right turn and raced towards the front entrance with her arms still full of supplies.

"...I agree. I can kill him, but it'll take too long, and then we're fighting numbers again. And I'm not sure how many there are."

He takes the supplies and heads to depart. At least the brakes not working on the vehicles will slow the enemy down.

Re: Episode 2-6

The four heroes race out the front entrance and just about collide with a police cruiser parked in front of the doors.  This one wasn't there when they entered.

Now there are three police cars in the front parking lot, while there were two before.  The new one belonged to the two cops who they just dusted.  Which means this is the only one here with working brakes.

The doors of the newly arrived police cruiser are unlocked.  And the keys are in the ignition.  Guess the cops figured no one would try to steal a police vehicle from the station parking lot.

OCC: Vamp cops will be bursting through the front doors soon. You can run away on foot or take advantage of the only police car at the station with working brakes.

Re: Episode 2-6

Aaron quickly shoves his pile of things into the cruiser. He then moves around to the passenger side door and climbs in. "Come on. providence seem to have favoured us here." He winds down the window and starts to slide himself half out of the car, so that he can shoot his bow. Not the most stable of positions, but good enough assuming they don't try any maneuvers that are too ambitious.

"Never a look a gift horse in the mouth." Annabelle said as she watched Aaron and Michael climb into the car, but neither in the driver's seat.

"What's this?!  Are you both bloody insane?!  You don't actually expect me to drive this........................why not?  First time for everything.

Annabelle climbs into driver's seat as she tosses her supplies on the backseat floor.  "Nothing to it, I'm sure."

"Alright then, let's go!" Annabelle shouts as she shifts the police car and presses the accelerator.  And moves forward over the curb and hits the brakes before she crashes through the wall of the police station.

"Oh yes, D is for Drive, and R is for Reverse.  Of course. I've got it."

She shifts into reverse, backs out, then shifts into drive again as she speeds out of the police station parking lot.

Re: Episode 2-6

Aaron nearly falls out of the cruiser at the sudden stop and change in direction. "Heavens above! Try not to throw me out if you don't mind!" Trying to hook himself into the car more securely he watches behind them waiting for the pursuit to begin. "If someone could grab my legs and stop me from being left behind i'd be most appreciative... Not you Annabelle, I think you should concentrate on the road." The last of this is added after a short pause.

"It occurs to me we might've been wiser to let you drive and let Annabelle or myself shoot. Too late now."

Still, he holds on. Mike was strong...he'd manage for anything short of a car accident. Of course, Aaron might get hurt if he hangs on in some cases...cars have more force then mortals can handle. There's a good reason why car accidents kill so many people.

Re: Episode 2-6

The "borrowed" police cruiser heads out on the main road. As you look back to the front entrance of the station you see one...two...three...four..a total of five cops burst out.

Two head for one of the remaining cruisers, while the other three pile in the other.  Within seconds both police cars are in pursuit of the heroes.

All three cars are on a straight stretch of road at the moment, so the other two cars won't notice (or be in danger from) their lack of brakes yet.

OCC: Two vamp cop cars in pursuit.  Annabelle needs to make a dexterity -2 roll driving roll.   Aaron can shoot arrows at them, but with a -2 penalty due to being in a fast moving car with an inexperienced driver.  If he wants to aim for a tire that will be -4 altogether since it's a smaller object he's aiming for.  But one success level will be a hit. Somebody grabbing his legs so he doesn't fall out would be a good idea. If anyone else wants to attack, you now have some nice heavy occult books to throw at them.

Annabelle pressed the pedal as she looked in the rear view mirror and saw the two pursuing police cruisers gaining.  She was gripping the steering wheel hard until her knuckles were white, then eased her grip.  Her Slayer strength crushing the steering wheel would do them no good.

Somebody had better do something.  I'm a bit preoccupied at the moment. she said through clenched teeth.

Mike already grabbed Aaron's legs like an anchor.

"Annabelle, you need to get off a straightaway for our sabotage to matter...and...uh...I don't think that's how you drive..."

He could see the errors from there.

Re: Episode 2-6

Taking a deep breath Aaron tries to block out the movement of the car, the voices inside and concentrate on his shot. One arrow into a tire, might be enough to stop half of their pursuers, if only he could find the right moment. When that instant came the arrow was gone almost before he realised, flying in a path towards the closest cruiser.

Re: Episode 2-6

Aaron's arrow flys throw the air and hits the right front tire of the closer police cruiser carrying three cops.

The tire blows out and the car quickly and wildy spins out of control (no brakes after all) and finally rolls over upside down.

One down, one to go.  The second cruiser manages to avoid colliding with the other one and is still in pursuit.

OCC: One cruiser still in pursuit.  Annabelle needs to make another driving roll.  Aaron can try to shoot out another tire.

"Good show Aaron." Annabelle says as she watches in the rearview mirror as the first police cruiser spins out of control.

"One more to go." she says as she deftly keeps their cruiser on the road and ahead of their pursuers.

"Any comments about my driving now Michael?  Hmmmm? 'Annabelle can't drive!  Annabelle snores loudly!  WRONG and WRONG!!"

Re: Episode 2-6

Aaron is in the zone now, he doesn't even hear Annabelle complement his shooting. A second arrow is nocked to string. He draws, once more waiting for that moment. Seconds pass, he can feel his heart beating as he holds ready to loose. The the cruiser behind angles slightly to expose it's side and he releases, breath leaving him with the arrow.

A bumb on the tarmac reminds him that he is hanging to the outside of a car. He reaches inside to drag himself back through the window and into the relative safety. "If I ever try something that stupid again, somebody please slap me."

15:10, Today: Aaron James rolled 10 using 1d10+7. Shooting at tire. +3 aim. -4 tire shot.

Re: Episode 2-6

While not as good as his first shot, this one still does the job as the arrow impacts the tire of the remaining cruiser.  It spins out of control, crashing into a mailbox and a trash can before coming to a stop, leaving the foursome to get away.
