Episode 2-10

Moments later, everyone heads back inside through the back entrance of The Fish Tank, carrying whatever weapons they wished to grab from the SWAT van.

You make it to the main room when you realize you're not alone.  Three Turok-Hans are there, having wandered in during your absence.  They were no doubt attracted by the lingering scent of human blood in the room and now they've found some fresh nourishment.

The three Turoks rush forward.  One goes for Aaron, one for Lance, and one for Annabelle.  After all, those three are the blood sources.

OCC: And we now begin this episode by going to the combat thread, three Turoks to dispose of, good guys have initiative.

Episode 2-10

Upon entering the Fish Tank Lance sees the Turok coming. "Who are you a Max Schreck look a like?" he points the new toy he took from the van and charged it. "Lets try this again!" Lance sneers and fires the taser rifle at the charging creature.

ZAP!  The Turok shakes violently, but doesn't go down from the blast as he tries to stagger towards Lance.

"Not again." Aaron quickly draws a bead on one of the Turok Han, before loosing two deadly shots at it. His shots take precious moments to aim however, so he has to trust to his companions to cover him. "This bar is quickly becoming a veritable hotspot of paranormal activity."

"Hear, hear!" Annabelle says in response to the watcher, she'd had her fill of vampires of any kind for today.

She raises her newly acquired baton, hitting the Turok coming at her.  He swings his clawed hand at her and misses as the Slyer then reaches over and grabs the Turok going after Aaron, hoping to buy him time to get a clear arrow shot.

THOK! THOK!  The plan works as both of the watcher's arrows plunge into the ubervamp's heart.

He's still solid...............but, wait.........FOOM! He's dust.

Mike wanted to take a moment to feel out how strong these particular Turok Han were, and ended up taking a strong defensive posture. Wasn't a great posture for grabbing, but if his enemy was distracted, it might work anyway. He'd grab Lance's target, (which wouldn't be too hard if the tase worked...) and throw him at Annabelle's. While Lance's taser attack didn't down the vamp, it slowed him enough to make him an easy target for Mike's grab as he sent the Turok sailing into the first one Annabelle engaged.

OCC: Back to the combat thread.  Two Turoks still solid, both on the floor at the moment, good guys have initiative.

Episode 2-10

Mike, of course, came in from outside...and HE had stakes.

And proceeded to use it, launching an all out offensive at the downed Turok Han's heart.

But the primitive vamp spoiled his plans miraculously rolling out of the way of his stake attempts with blinding speed.

Annabelle moved in on the now downed Turok that she had just clubbed and launched two consecutive kicks at him. WHAM! WHAM!  "Will somebody with a proper vamp slaying weapon be a dear and finish him off now."

"yeah it's not our fault that these guys crashed the party." Buffy says as she moves in to assist Mike regretting the failure of fashioning that baton into a stake, but also misses as the Turok avoids her attack too.

Aaron holds back as the others move in for the kill. Arrow nocked he is ready to react should something unexpected happen.

And it did as the seemingly defeated Turoks both snapped back to their feet.  The one nearest to Mike landed a perfect kick to Mike's jaw (an easy hit since Mike left himself open to attack).  The Turok now seemed to be snickering at Mike.  If he could talk he probably would be saying "HA! Thought I was done didn't you?!  Joke's on you punk!"

The second one launched a kick at Annabelle, but the Slayer was prepared for a possible attack and avoided the deadly foot.

OCC: Two Turoks now back on their feet and ready to fight.  Mike takes 15 points of damage. Good guys have initiative.

Episode 2-10

Mike...smirked.

"Yes, I should watch that overconfidence. Well then. Let's go." he said as he grabbed the Turok and tossed him across the floor.

"Oh  crumbs."  Annabelle said as both Turoks got back to their feet.

She aimed her baton at the one she just kicked and missed, but the Turok missed as well as the Slayer dodged his punch.

"I just wish we can just finish 'em!" Buffybot went to once again to assist Annabelle in the double team as she successfully bashed her baton against the Turok's head.

Lance was surprised that the taser shot worked, somewhat. He was not so surprised when they kept coming. "Well let's see if you like taking the juice a second time." He fires again at the same Turok as before who is now an easier target lying on the floor.  SSHHRRAKK!!  The monster growls in pain for  second, before it's head it's the floor.  That blast did it.

Dammit Aaron thinks as he takes careful aim at the closest of the two Turoks. I'm going to run our of arrows if we keep going at this rate. He threads a pair of shots through the weaving melee before him, staying far enough back to not be an immediate target for one of the super-vamps. He knows the limitations that being merely human place upon him against such adversaries.

THOK!  THOK!  Once again the watcher has a flawless eye as both arrows hit the heart of the Turok still standing.

FOOM! He explodes to dust.  Only one left now.

OCC: One Turok left, unconcious on the floor.  Somebody better finish him off before he gets up again.

Episode 2-10

Again Mike went all out. Not his best performance...but enough to do the job as his stake plunges into the heart of the unconcious Turok and the primitive vamp explodes to dust.

All is now quiet in The Fish Tank as only the five heroes remain.

OCC: All Turoks dusted.  This fights's over.

"Three less of those beasties to worry about, even if they're timing is atrocious."

Annabelle squats low to the ground and smashes one of her wooden police batons on the floor, breaking it in half and thus forming a suitable wooden stake.

"Now then, Aaron and Michael you'd best sit down while we bring you up to speed on Sunnydale's mayor who has powers of hypnosis and possibly sorcery as well."

"When we came in, we all had handcuffs on.  The mayor caused them to unlock and fall to the floor from across the room.  He's either a warlock or somehow possess the power of telekinesis" Annabelle says as she walks around to the other side of the bar and sits down.

"I don't think the other vampires were under his control.  There seemed to be some sort of friendship between the mayor and the police chief.  And those four SWAT vampire henchman were not to be trifled with.  If not for the firm hand of the mayor and the chief, the four of them would have likely battled to the dust to see which one was vampire king of Sunnydale.  Or if reason prevailed, divided Sunnydale up in four equal sections with each one claiming a territory like feudal warlords."

Episode 2-10

After the excitement of the day Lance desperately wanted, no NEEDED a cigarette.  He went over to his small stash of belongings he had left there earlier and found a pack of reds and headed to the door.  As he was about to walk out he stopped and picked up the taser and slung it over his shoulder. "Smoke'em if you got 'em" he smirked as he headed on out.  Once he got outside the door he cased the area and lit a smoke.  He leaned back against the wall by the door jam not daring to venture away from the rest of the group. He reflected on what Annabelle said about the mayor.  "Got to get me some answers." he thought to himself as he puffed away.

Annabelle sighed loudly.  "I knew that line sounded familiar.  When he unlocked our handcuffs he said 'you'll no longer need those'.  And with his hypnosis powers, he could turn us to the dark side in a manner of speaking."

She turned to the watcher.  "Aaron, correct me if I'm wrong but there are three levels of vampire hypnosis power, correct?  The weakest is making some one freeze for a few seconds making them an easy target for attack.  The next level lets one cast illusions.  And the strongest is the power to control another's mind.  Well, the mayor tried to control Lance, and it took all of Lance's will to resist. He or anyone else the mayor tries it on may not be so lucky the next time."

Episode 2-10

"Well there are more nuances to the ability than that. But in essence you are right. If the mayor has such a power then it is possible that he is holding some of the vampires under his thrall. There might be a way for us to disrupt that. It won't remove the vampires as a threat, but it will make them less centralised. And if what you say is true then they may end up fighting amongst themselves as much as against us." Aaron thought on the subject for a few moments, it would probably be worth researching if such a thing is possible.

"Also if the mayor is as powerful as you seem to think then their must be some mention of him somewhere. People like him don't simply pop into existence they have to make waves to accrue such power. We might be able to find out more about him and what he plans. And I don't know if any of you have tried. But is it possible to communicate with those beyond the barrier through technology? I know physically passing through it is not possible, but what about using the telephone or sending an email. If we can then it might be possible that we can contact someone with grater occult resources than ourselves. Or at the very least run a search using the internet, which I understand has as many gatherings of occultists as the real world." Thinking it through, being able to access the outside world through the technology could be an invaluable tool in tackling their problems here in Sunnydale. And it was possible that the mayor had overlooked the modern communications network, those immersed in the study of the occult and ancient magics often did.

"The telephone is definitely a dead end Aaron. We've tried and any call by either house phone or mobile phone outside of Sunnydale doesn't go through.  We haven't tried emails though.  As for the mayor he said his real name is Patrick Rugby, but everyone calls him Bubba if we want to try to find him in any of the occult books."

Lance returned to the group shortly.  Catching the latter part of the conversation Lance mutters "Maybe if we say Patrick Rugby 3 times in a mirror he will show up all Candy Man style." then he though about that statement, "Not that I would want to see him again anytime soon but hey if it worked maybe he would be alone at least."  He moves closer to the group "Nevermind me I am just rambling."  and he listens to the plan.

Episode 2-10

As Mike finishes talking, something noticeable happens; it's a lot brighter outside.

A glance out the window will indicate the sun is out again, whatever caused the cloud cover has now stopped.  Mike can't openly go outside without bursting to flame, but then neither can the mayor or the vamp cops.

City Hall:

The mayor is in his office (with the blinds closed), when the chief steps in.

"Bad news Bubba, the sun is out again.  The weather control spell of yours must have flaked out." says the chief.

"Yes, I noticed the sun peaking thourgh the blinds.  No magic spell is 100% reliable.  No biggie, not a big thing at all.  The do-gooders have just been granted a rest period.  Are all your officers safely inside?" replied the mayor.

"Yeah, and I've got some good news. A couple of the boys found four runaway teenagers entering Sunnydale before the sun cam out again.  We brought you one."

Two cops bring in a teenage boy.  "Thanks chief, you've made my day."

The mayor walk over to the boy and morphs into vamp face.  The kid has no time to scream as the mayor sinks his teeth into the boy's neck and drains him dry very quickly.

OCC: Yes, the mayor's a vamp.  Should have made that clear in ep 9, meant to have him appear in vamp face to confirm it, but I goofed.  Thanks to Mike for bringing it up.

Annabelle goes to the nearest window, and peaks out through the blinds.

"The sun is out again.  That will restict Michael's movements until sundown, but will keep all or most of the vampire police indoors as well. We need to take advantage of this and move quickly.  We need to pick up where we left off, and obtain enough food for three people.  It's unlikely the vampires had time to get back to the market place for another ambush, if they even intend to try that.  Then we need to get to a sporting goods store and get some cots so we all have some place to sleep."

She pauses for a moment, looking between Aaron and Lance.  "And we could get some weapons as well. You're running low on arrows and perhaps you can find a suitable hunting knife to replace the one that was taken."
