Episode 2-10

"Maybe it should be me.  I could use the radio and play it off like I am trying to find a secrete entrance or something. I would be an easy target and after my remarks to the mayor when we met I am sure he would like a word with me." He looks to the others eye to eye and after tapping it twice on the table he rests a cig on his lips. "Relax I aint gonna light it."

Episode 2-10

"I think that Miss Summers has the right of it." Aaron hadn't been wanting to volunteer her, It? As the bait, but she was the obvious choice to be so. Unlike the others she wasn't truly alive and could also potentially be repaired if something went wrong. And she was also right about Annabelle too. There was no telling who would awaken next if she were to die. The chances would be that they would be in no position to help here in Sunnydale and being here without a Slayer would make the whole situation much worse. "There is too much risk involved for you to be the one Annabelle."

Annabelle was a tad perturbed her idea was shot down by everyone, but she wasn't going to dispute the argument that she was too important.

"Right then.  It appears to be settled.  Buffy....will be the bait.  I suggest she call for help on the police radio from the trap zone, claiming to be under attack from 10-12 demons.  Since she has no lungs, I imagine she's not a very good screamer so we'll need to pick a particularly vicious variety of demon to sell the threat level."

Buffybot nods to the others. "Well Lance you'll get your chance. As Aaron said I can get patched up if needed. Heck in some circles I'd be expendable. But that's not the point. Annabelle one amazing thing about Americans is that we can wing it. Don't worry about the screaming part. The only unpredictable element would be the demon type. You seem quiet Mike..."

"Hmmm. I was thinking. If we're going to sell it to the enemy, you probably shouldn't be doing your best teen girl impression either. You'll want to radio for help in a dead flat monotone or something like that. They probably know you're a robot by now."

"Oh, they know she's a robot all right, the mayor asked Lance and I if it talks by itself while we were his captives. Flat monotone voice is the way to go I think. Now then we need to choose a demon race to be attacking her."

Annabelle thinks for a moment.  "What about a clan of Miquot demons?  They're a formidable warrior race who have the ability to form bone knives from their wrists."

OCC: A Miquot demon is a yellow spiny-headed demon, we saw one in Season 3 during the episode where Cordelia and Buffy were hunted.

Annabelle jumps off her seat at the bar.  "I see no objections to my Miquot demon suggestion, so let's put this plan into effect.  We can go back to the sporting goods shop for tarps, then proceed to the trap zone."

Episode 2-10

Half an hour later, the group is now at the area Mike described, having stopped off to get the necessary tarp supplies.

The section in question is an underground tunnel that leads up above ground, the walls of the tunnel are still there, but no roof of any kind. There's a ladder on the wall enabling anyone to enter and exit the roofless tunnel.  Now the tarps have been thrown in place (and have been connected together so one so one good pull is all that's needed) , ready to be removed when the trap is sprung.

Mike is currently at the safe edge of the tunnel where the roof is about to end.  This is the route the vamp cops will take to get to the trap zone.  There's a another tunnel that veers off to the right before the roof ends, where Mike can hide when the vamp cops will walk past him and into the trap.

OCC: Trap is ready. Time for Buffy to make the fake distress call.  I hope I've explained the layout of the area well enough.  The vamps cops will come up through the tunnel and out into the trap area, once the tarps are off, sunlight hits them.  Mike will have a hiding spot in an adjacent tunnel, the vamp cops will walk right past him if he doesn't draw attention to himself.  Then if any of them try to run back into the safety of the roofed area of the tunnel when the sun hits, Mike will be there to intercept them.  Annabelle, Aaron, and Lance can be in position anywhere they like, but at least one has to be up top to pull the tarps off.

Mike nodded.

"Good idea. They're probably going to try to run right by us with the intent of not burning, so the trick is to present a wall they can't get through, and bottleneck them to make sure we can't be attacked on too many angles."

Episode 2-10

Fifteen minutes pass.

Then the sound of footsteps coming closer.  A squad of vamp cops come down the tunnel.  From Annabelle and Mike's hiding spot they count ten, five SWAT vamps and five beat cops.  Just the rank and file though, no sign of the chief or his four elite SWAT vamp henchman.

They walk up Buffybot and surround her. One of the SWAT vamps does the talking;  "Well hello miss, lucky the police are here to help.  We serve and protect.  But I don't see any of those Miquot demons you mentioned.  I hope they were really here.  Filing a false police report is a veeeerrryyyy serious offense."

OCC: Trap springing time. Either Lance or Aaron can pull the tarps off, no roll required.  They are all connected together by rope, so one good pull on the rope will do it.

Mike almost smiled as the enemy ran right past his hiding spot to get to the obvious target. With only one way into the trap zone, they'd have to come out the same way. He nodded at Annabelle, and they waited for the vamps to have a sunshiney day before proceeding to block the exit. The sun would do all the work, all they had to do is prevent them from escaping.

Mike motioned to Annabel, and they'd both take their defensive stances right there and block the path.

"Sorry. We're blocking."

As per the old board game Parchisi, where if you had two tokens on one square the opponents can't move by them.

Buffybot puts on the charm for good measure. <pink>"Oh come now officers if they weren't here then I wouldn't have made the call. Of course if they are that stupid enough to stay around around. IF you can hurry you can STILL get them."

OOC: This take place right before the "here comes the sun" is played. Tell us how soon for combat thread.

Situated on the opposite side to Lance, Aaron follows his example and pulls on his portion of the tarp to uncover the vampires. He then reaches down to his side, picking up his bow. Hopefully he wouldn't need to find out if the new arrows were up to his standards.

Re: Episode 2-10

The tarps come off, the sun shines down.

The vamp cops look up.  The lead SWAT vamp shouts "It's a trap!".  Ten vampires burst into flame.

Six of them scream and drop to their knees burning.

Two of them (one SWAT vamp, one beat cop) run towards Mike and Annabelle, trying to reach the safety of the covered tunnel.

Two of them (also one SWAT vamp and one beat cop) run the opposite direction down the still exposed roofless section.  But if they make it to the end, it drops off into water and safety.

OCC: Combat thread time.  Two vamps coming at Annabelle and Mike towards the covered tunnel area, two more running the opposite way.  You have two rounds to stop the two running the opposite way, otherwise they reach the end and drop off into the lake below, thus putting out the fire and allowing them to escape.  Remember vamps don't breathe, so they don't have to come up for air.

Re: Episode 2-10

Mike presented a wall. All he had to do was keep the enemy from getting by him. Obviously, he couldn't chase the fleeing pair, for the weakness he was exploiting affects him too.

The burning SWAT vamp unleashed a punch followed by a kick, that Mike deftly avoided and prevented the vampire from making it to the safety of the shade.

"I'll put you out of your misery." said Annabelle as she raised her crossbow and fired at the flaming beat cop vamp, aiming for his heart. But the vamp cop had other ideas as he just barely dodged the crossbow bolt and rushed forward to the Slayer and then did a nifty Michael Smith impression as he grabbed her by the arm and hurled her out to the ground in the opposite direction.  Annabelle now lay out on the tunnel floor underneath the sun, but luckily didn't land on a burning vamp.

Now in the safetly of the shade, the vamp cop stopped burning, then looked over to the downed Annabelle, apparently having no interest in attacking Mike to help out the SWAT vamp trying to get through.  "Come on girl.  Show me what you got.  Slayer? Ha!"

Lance finished springing the trap with Aaron and raised his taser to try and hit one of the fleeing vamps.  ZAP!  The taser strikes the fleeing beat cop vamp who hits the ground in an impressive display of electricty and severe sunburn at the same time.  He lay there nearly unconcious while slightly convusling and still burning under the rays of the sun.

"Of course it's a trap. Anyway you're not reporting anything. We can't have you 'hiding' as the law and killing off innocents. Since youre keen on running. I'm keen on dusting!" Buffybot goes after the pair runing the other way making. "Now fight like the fake cops that you are!"

Her stake plunges into the back of the fleeing SWAT vamp, an impressive hit except his SWAT armor protected him enough to keep him from dusting.  He kept on running, paying no attention to Buffy as he tried to get closer to the end and reach the water.

The other six vamps continue to scream as they lay there burning in the sun.

OCC: Annabelle takes nine points of damage and is currently on the ground. Three vamps are currenlty an active threat, the burning one trying to get past Mike, the one engaging Annabelle who is in the safety of the shade, and the SWAT vamp still running to towards end of the tunnel and so he can jump in the water.  He now has a lead so if Buffy wants to attack him up close she has to make a dexterity doubled roll first to see if she can catch him, unless she wants to do a thrown stake to the heart attack. Lance's taser won't affect him since he has SWAT armor.
