Re: Episode 2-10

Mike stuck to the plan...at least his plan. No matter how the SWAT vamp tried to get around him, he was going to meet with miserable failure. The SWAT vamp once again tried to hit Mike, but was nowhere close, he'd have better luck trying to break through a force field.

"Let's try that again." Annabelle said as she tried to snap back to her feet and impressive fashion, yet could tell half way through she would fail and land on her bum.

"Oh crumbs!  Really?!"she shouted as she prepared to withstand the cop's attack from her downed postion.

"Crap!" Aaron is slow to react to the vampires when the tarp is pulled back. He reaches for his bow and fumbles through the folds of tarpaulin to grab it. He pulls it out and quickly releases two shots at the heart of the running swat officer, not even taking a moment to aim properly.

THOK!  The SWAT vamp didn't dust as the first arrow penetrated his heart.  THOK!  FOOM!  The second shot did the job as the SWAT vamp exploded to dust.

Lance saw that his first shot did have somewhat of an effect on the fleeing vamp.  He also noticed Annabelle appearing to be in trouble.  He aimed at the vamp about to attack her and lets the taser rip. "Back off there vampy!"  SSHHRRRAAKK!!! Lance bullseyed the vamp in the chest, preventing him from going after the downed Annabelle. He fell over flat on his face, but still in the shade as he lay there convulsing from the blast.

Seven vamps continued to burn in the sun.  But one of the beat cops managed to stand on his feet despite the pain.  While still burning, he drew his pistol and aimed it where Lance and Aaron were standing.  "I'm taking one of you to hell with me!" he shouted.

OCC: Back to the combat thread. Six vamps on the ground burning in the sun and screaming.  One beat cop vamp on his feet, burning in the sun, but pointing his pistol at Lance and Aaron. One burning SWAT vamp still trying to get past Mike, one downed from Lance's taser blast, but in the shade of the tunnel.

Re: Episode 2-10

"One more time." Annabelle says as she snaps back to her feet from her downed position.

She instantly spots the burning vamp cop going for his pistol and pointing it up at Lance and Aaron and rushes towards him from behind, with her stake raised and prepared to plunge it into his heart. But the vamp spotted her from the corner of his eye and barely dodged her stake thrust as he pointing his pistol upwards towards Aaron and Lance.

Mike continues doing his best offensive lineman impression. Or...

With a smirk, he said, "You shall not pass!"

And he makes good on his word as the burning SWAT vamp can't lay a finger on him.

He sees the vampire and the pistol. Knowing that he has no chance to shoot before the vampire he instead attempts to dive to the side, away from Lance and out of the line of fire.

Lance saw the vamp pointing a gun his way at the last second. "Argghhh" he rolled to the side away from Aaron trying to dodge the bullets.

The vamp cops wavered the pistol back and forth for a second, then decided on the watcher as his target.  BLAM!  But it was a miss and his last shot as he turned to ash under the sun's rays.

As did the three other beat cop vamps.  Three SWAT vamps were still on the ground and burning under the sun. No, make that two vamp cops on the ground and burning in the sun.

One managed to get to his feet and advanced towards Annabelle.

The other remaining SWAT vamp was still trying to get past Mike.

One beat cop remained, the only one in the shade as he lay on the ground, stunned from Lance's taser blast.

OCC: Back to the combat thread.  Five vamps remain.

Re: Episode 2-10

Mike continued to stick to the plan. Surely the burning would get them soon.

The burning SWAT vamp failed to hit Mike for the last time as he did swung his fist and missed before bursting into ash.

"Perhaps Michael has the right idea." Annabelle said as she focused on not getting hit by the burning vamp. The sun had to finish him off soon.

And it did as this vamp failed to kick Annabelle, then turned ash. As did the remaining vamps burning in the sun.

Just one vamp cop left, the beat cop who made it to the shade who is now lying on the ground from Lance's taser blast.

OCC: One vamp cop left who's currently in the shade but incapacitated from a taser blast.  Better finish him off before he gets up and starts shooting at all of you.

Re: Episode 2-10

Of course she was pissed off on being sent on the wild goose chase. But with one vamp left she grins. "Look at it this way vampy. No paperwork because it never happened. Save time." A very UNHAPPY Buffybot attempts to put him away.

Aaron picks himself up of the ground, rubbing his left arm as he does so. Seeing Buffybot about to dispatch the incapacitated vampire he moves to recollect his weapons. Having done so he surveys the site of their encounter nodding to himself, this had proven quite effective. Though they wouldn't be able to do this again as the police would be better prepared next time.

Mike gestured to Annabel.

"Feel free."

Annabelle stepped forward, stake in hand, to finish off the last vamp. But the robot was closer and already on it.  "It appears to be covered." she said to Michael before looking upwards to Aaron and Lance.

"Are you two alright up there?"

Buffybot's stake plunges into the heart of the prone vamp who quickly turns to dust, leaving only the five of them.

"Sgt. Rollins come in!  This is the chief!  Break radio silence!  Report what's happening. "

One of the vamp's dropped his two way radio before turning to ash.  You all hear the sound of Sunnydale's police chief demanding a response.

OCC: Back to the episode thread.  This fight's over.

Re: Episode 2-10

Annabelle walks over and pick up the two way radio.  "You're vampire officers are now ashes from the rays of the sun.  They walked right into our trap like the overconfident witless gits they are."

She waves the radio around a bit.  "Anyone else want to say hello to the chief constable?" She moves closer to Michael in the shade in case he wants to say something into the radio without turning into ash.

Mike snerked. "We're terribly sorry, but I'm afraid they've all made complete ashes of themselves. You should really give them a reprimand for that."

"You little bastards!  You're all going to die horribly for this!  The sun won't stay out forever!  Better start making out your wills! When the sun sets, we'll be out in force!  You'll never make it to morning!" the chief shouted.

Then nothing but static.

Lance had picked himself off the ground and checked to see if he broke any of his cigs.  Then he just looked over to Aaron with a knowing nod and smirked while the others had their fun with the Chief.

Re: Episode 2-10

Aaron just shakes his head as the three antagonise the police chief. There was something to be said about inciting an opponent to make mistakes by goading them, but such tactics needed to be precise and measured to achieve a specific result. Who knew what the chief would do now that his rage had been stoked. "We should get back. We might even try and make some subtle fortifications to the bar. Make ourselves a little more secure if we can."

Re: Episode 2-10

Once they've returned to The Fish Tank, Annabelle takes a seat behind the bar, still carrying the two way radio she picked up to mock the chief.

"Fortifications?  We can nail two pieces of wood together to form a large cross and place it right in the path of the front door, thus preventing any enemy vampires from entering that way. Or perhaps we can "borrow" one from a local church.  Although, we'd have to block its view from this side so Michael doesn't have an aneurysm every time he looks in its direction."

Annabelle looks at the clock on the wall.  "We'd best be mindful of the time.  Sunset will be in a few hours and I know I need to get some sleep before then.  We'll no doubt have a long night ahead of us."

"Since I can't operate daytime so well...at least, not any better then the opponents, I'll wait for you back there. Remember there's still 4 Turok Han out there somewhere."

Might as well get on with it.

Re: Episode 2-10

"Well I'll be honest. I was thinking more along the lines of boarding up the windows and maybe closing up all except one of the entrances. Then putting some kind of a bar across that that would need to be broken if people want to come in, but could be lifted out of the way by those inside. I don't think we should call attention to ourselves by putting crosses all around the outside. I mean, we know they will be looking for us, but we needn't make it too easy for them to find us... Also we might find it helps to keep some of the other groups of daemons and supernatural horror from just finding their way in."

Aaron rubs his temples and sighs as he thinks. "Maybe you're right though. It would probably be for the best if we got some sleep before tonight."

"Right then.  Sleep it is.  We can discuss our security strategy when we're better rested."

Annabelle grabs one of the new cots and begins setting it up out in the main bar area.  "There are two cots in the back room, anyone who wishes to be Michael's new roommate my join him back there.  I'll sleep out here since he's been making irrational complaints about my snoring volume."

Lance chuckles at the notion of a snoring slayer.  He makes his way to the cot they setup for him earlier.  Laying back and taking in the events of the last day or so he starts wondering if they will ever find a way out of it.  Of course he would never show doubts to the others and takes a deep breath and tried to relax.

Annabelle rolls over in her cot and reaches into her weapons pile for a glass bottle of holy water she nearly forgot she had.

She hurls it at Micheal, a deliberate near miss so he'll get the message.  It just misses him and smashes against the nearest wall.

"You're still not funny! Go to bed!  Other people are trying to sleep!"

Annabelle shouted as she laid back down and pulled her blanket up over her head.

About 3:00 pm-the heroes lay down to rest.

Four hours pass.

Time is now 7:02 pm, the sun is beginning to go down (sunset is around 8:00 pm)

All is quiet.

BKOW! BKOW!

The sound of two gunshots wake everyone up.  At first you think it came from inside The Fish Tank, but  actually came from somewhere outside.

Re: Episode 2-10

Annabelle snapped out of bed, grabbing the nearest wooden stake, thinking at first the loud noise was the sound of an intruder crashing through the door of The Fish Tank.  Seeing no one, she quickly dropped low to the ground as Lance did.

"What the bloody hell was that?! Is someone shooting at us?!"
