So it starts a new

Once the time shift has worn off, the group, Kree, Bruga and Senuviel find themselves huddled in a room that looks oddly familure.  The inn, the day before you all were brought before the king on this odd ly wicked quest to find that chaotic compass.   You had just worked out some actions about the poor gypsee and the warehouse issue that day.

You all feel as though time has shifted some from those days by gone, one Clair and Snare are not with you as they were the last time.  You have vague memories except Senuviel of things you did, went through and experienced.  Alas, you all realize that yes, it all must have been true because you have the gear, magical items and wounds to tell your story.

When you look out the window It is Dawn, do you have a full day yet before the kings men come to get you or is this the day?

Wow! That was ...hmmm...odd. Senuviel looks at himself and the others and then looks around remembering perfectly where he and his friends are. Seems odd enough. It fells to me as I've had left a dream but I still have the marks and scars upon me. Whatever did it to us must have been a powerful illusion or alteration spell. I only wonder, why. Is someone testing us? Are we cursed? Senuviel looks pensive What if we were granted a second chance by the gods or some other powerful being? What if we are just pawns on a sick divine game? Or just were we struck by some powerful spell that got out of control? The elf looks at his friends. Shall we go after the slavers as Kree suggests or stay and see if our endeavors with Thine Majesty would be different?

Kree frowns,...if  we wait..and  get taken again..our friend will be at thier mercy once more, with our actions being the trigger  for what happens to them....if we go after the slaver  now?...we cannot be given the  oders, since we will never have been here....and..we have the advanatage of knowing where to look...I do not trust the king..nor...do i feel the need togo through, what we have already done? we do not even know, if those  we killed, will still be there...or..if they remain.....better to hunt the slaver, and work backwards...on our own, with no constraints  from  "his  highness"

Senuviel looks grim. After much thinking he says. Something is still amiss. We don't have the control of the situation here, yet. Have you two noticed that neither Claire and Snare nor the Dwarves and the holy wackos are here? Although we have traveled back to the inn I think we haven't exactly traveled back in time. Something's not quite right here, friends.

The group heads down stairs.  At first everything seems normal and what one would expect from the inn - 3 days ago - but little things are out of place, too many tables have few or no chairs, the bar only has 2 not 6 stools.  the fireplace mantel looks a bit singed and the normal waitress is not roving the tables getting/giving out drinks/food.  The people look the same as you go by, some look vaguely familure, the waitress and bar keep are or you think are the same people.

Bruga you come to the conclusion that this place had a big bar fight of some kind as you are seeing the after affects.

Even the door looks beaten to all get out as you pass into the streets.

Which way?

Street activity is normal, no, no kings guard are walking down the street toward you....yet :)

Bruga, you go and check the stairs, no traps, squeeky steps but nothing happens all the way to the bottom.  at the very bottom of a well lit landing it opens into a 10 x 10 area with a low 3' wall circling the 10x10 area (Bruga can peak over if you like).  The landing is 1/4 way into this 10x10 area with 3' behind the stairs to the buildings main basement wall.  the area has an open ceiling floor plan.  beyond the wall on the two sides Left and right is an open area that goes about 10 more feet to the sides of the basement.  beyond the wall in front of you extends about 20 feet.  You see sitting at the far end 2 young boys (one Kree recognizes) sitting between an old white haired female in dusty drab worn robs.  the 2 lads are in street urchant rags.

She waves you three to come closer.  there is a worn throw rug from the low wall to her chair.  The lads from what you can see are just sitting there cross legged.

She looks up as Kree stands near, still in a horse whisper she speaks

wise choice to not trust one you do not know master Kree. Looks beyond Kree, oh I see Bruga Honeyfinder has decided the grass in greener on this side of the wall.

Looks back to Senuviel, Very well master Senuviel, for now, I shall deal with you and you can deal with your companions.

Looking only at Senuveil she croaks in a horse voice just audible - Three days ago, time was different around here.  I was not as I am now nor was I who I was then.  A change has happened, an alter of time has occurred. A chance to right the wrong and wrong the right.  Your companion master Bruga gifted me three days, time I need.  she takes a long breath and you can definitely hear it fill her lungs like you have heard from dying men taking there last breath before.

She begins speaking again, There are 10 houses in the ally way of time.  This is the first house, find the puzzle pieces from each house and finish the puzzle for me, that is your quest, you will have three days less one second to complete the task.  If you do not finish in time, what little you saw at the inn will be what is to be and what was suppose to be will not be.

She shudders and takes another long breath, What I do you cannot do, but i can help you out, that is if you trust what I say is right.  From the Gypsee camps warlock, a drink was made, it will help you step out of time, but only once.  The Gypsee's name was Mulligan, and he gave it to me for he foresaw a time where I would need it.  Alas, his time was up before I could get much else out of him.

She takes another long breath and this time you notice she phased to a foggy image then back.  Oh, my time is running and so is yours.  Senuviel Alantir, if you want to get back to your real time, trust in me, take from the lad the drink to use in dire time and from the other lad the first piece of the puzzle.  Go find the other 9 but be careful, others want to stop you now that you have opened up time to them too.

She sits heavy into the chair staring into space, her eyes do not look like they see anymore.  The one lad to your left calmly stands and produces a small vial and offers it to you Senuviel while the other lad to the right stands and offers his out.   You notice one is larger then the other.

Bruga has returned.

Every one else can also roll a D20 if they run up the steps after Kree but no matter what Bruga you will be a it behind the rest.

kree, you hit the top and keep going as you are right on his heals as he runs out the front into the ally way.   He is a fast bugger for as old as he looks.

To continue chasing him roll another d20 to see what happens.

The rest can too if they are still following you at a run.

Kree's arrow bits deep into the old man, he stumbles a moment but continues on.  He runs into the third building down the ally way - the door was open.  It shuts as Kree rounds on the door.

-  Kree, you can try to charge and shoulder ram it, Stop and try to kick it in, stop and wait for Senuveil who is right behind you, keep running to the next building, give up and go home?  Ask Bruga for some tea :)

- Senuviel, the old man, wounded, makes it through the door as it closes in front of you and Kree.

You ran past a building on the right and one on the left.  there is, yup 10 buildings within this ally way before it ends at another main road.  For ease of Dming :)  you went into building #1 first, then out and chased the old man past Building #2 and #10 and #9 is across from you as he is in #3.

Bruga, you are about a 1/4 way through the round about streets and you realize that it will be a bit longer to get "around" the block.  there are tiny passage ways a child, skinny teen or a 1/2 ling could fit through between each building but also you recall kobolds, goblins, even some elves and the rest of the "humanoids and monsters you do not want to mention" also could squeeze through these passages.

a 1/2ling jogging, now that will get some odd looks:

Senuviel you enter to hear a door close on the far side of the large room.   Obviously whoever shot those arrows knew you where there and ran after shooting them.

The room is large 20x20 making up the whole first floor.  there is a door to the right that the shooter may have run through (was just slammed shut) and a set of double stairs that wind up to the 2nd floor from the far wall (think The Clampets on Beverly Hillbillies front inside steps that hugged the wall going up).

Kree, you feel as though you have been whipped feet first across a field of cactus. You take 3 points of damage and find yourself staring up at the ceiling as you were thrown to the bottom of the steps.  Senuviel is looking down at you.

Bruga, You duck and are able to scoot around Kree as he sails to the bottom of the step.  You make it to the top of the steps though your ears are ringing a little.

Snuviel, You are able to get to the bottom of the steps about the same time Kree does though he is laying on his back while you are looking at him.

Re: So it starts a new

In reply to Clair Brandywhine (msg # 48):
Recap for ytou all =

The story reads from the mage women hwho has changed and aged:

Three days ago, time was different around here.

So you have a small bottle with one drink in it and a lad with one larger hand - this came out of building #1.  You are in the second building looking for puzzle peices to make somthing.  Kree searched one room and found odd items incuding chair legs that looked like roman numbers and this room had a freindly Dwarf willing to help along with his companions which you ahev yet to see.

Actions, do you recheck all the rooms in this building? Go to another building? or waht - remember time is ticking.

The door opens as you push on it.  It was already opened just not 100% closed.

You look inside and see a grizzly sight, 3 Kobolds dead on the floor, a Dwarf and several barrels smashed about with spoiled (for normal peeps consumption) food scattered about the bllod, body parts and unknown liquid.  It looks like a really  strong enemy tore through this place and both the Kobolds and Dwarf.

The Dwarf with you gasps upon seeing the room and rushes past you trying to gather the pieces of the Dwarf babbling, Corneilus dam fool.  then places the remains of the dwarf back on the floor scanning the room.

There is a double door to the right side of the house, this area is the left side of the house.  There is blood stains on the door.

Actions Bruga an dSenuviel?

Kree, you find the door open and the other lad greets you upon entering, Master Kree, back so soon with all the puzzle .. oh, is that all you have? chuckles - I guess the others are out still looking?

The Ogre, badly wounded avoids the arrows and dagger thrust and smashes the barrel down on the Dwarfs head.   The Dwarf is still standing but his head is stuck inside the barrel as brownish liquid gushes out around his neck.    You hear gurgling then nothing as the Dwarf steps into another swing in the direction of the Ogre, he totally blind and possibly drowning but still standing.

Kree you and the other 3 dwarves enter the house and see in the room to the left, Bruga, Senuviel with a barrel on what looks like the Dwarves head and a really pissed but heavily wounded Ogre standing over the Dwarf as the Dwarf swings at him.  the Ogre is preparing to pound his fists onto the Dwarf head through the barrel.

The Dwarves pull out,

1. Pieces to make a large frame the size of a door but the pieces of the frame have symbols on it like magic writing/ruins as to why the Dwarves took that.

2. A small silver box with a hand print and a large copper box with a hand print.

3. Candles that have magic ruins on it that also are shaped like 1, 2, 3, and 11.

4. A glass pen and ink set stuck to a plate with magic ruins on it that forms the number 10.

5. Putter mugs that have ruins on them that are shaped like 4, 6 & 9.

6. A box with ruins on the side that have rubies in it that form the number 12.

Kree you have the legs that look like the numbers 5, 7 & 8.

Bruga pull up the Barrel lid that has a face on it.

The young lad with one hand smaller than the other is standing with you.

The 3 Dwarves say this is all we found in the other houses in the ally way.  We lost 5 fellow Dwarves in the process so this better be good and look to the Dwarf with you for further instructions.
