On the way there

The groups heads of in a bit of a worry that they might not make it to the scribes office before he closes for the night.

The group heads down a "short cut" they think better to take after all the odd things that has happened in town lately.

Rounding a corner of one ally way to another you guys see what appears to be three large men hunched over a smaller man.  One speaks very roughly, Err, gunna cut yer fom ear ta ear if da not gib uz da wordz  The other two have clubs while the speaking one has a dagger.

Actions?

Re: On the way there

Hastily, Senuviel's eyes go from Maki to the dwarves then Bruga and finally Kree. The warrior/mage silently knocks an arrow to his bow as he slower his pace to linger behind. As he passes by Kree, the elf nods in the direction of Maki as he whispers to his fellow elf comrade.

You know what's gonna happen next, be ready.

Bow and arrow at ready, Senuviel aims his arrow at the man with the dagger. Just waiting for the skirmish to start.

Brugasidles by his comrades his arms at his sides beside a wall. Gentlemen, he pipes up, haven't you heard that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar? Besides, cut throats speak no words.

P.S. The group notices that Bruga's hands are cupped, cradling a dagger tip between thumb and forefinger..

I will adjust your rolls accordingly next round for the spell.

The charging Thug, shall we call him that, staggers by the arrow and sword wound but continues his attack on Miki and misses with his club.

The Thug threatening the little guy, laughs and jumps up turning toward the group - get em boys - The one on the left grunts from the arrow hit but also turns toward the group.  the little guy also jumps up and his hands are starting to make like a spell.  You also hear feet patter but see nothing, yet.

In reply to Maki (msg # 42):

The lead thug attacks Miki and misses

Miki - in your haste to get in a hit against the leader thug you very poorly missed him and almost lost your blade but you regained it and in your spin move regaining it you surprise the now not invisible thug who was attacking you/back stabbing you - and missed.  This is the reason you rolled a d6, and a 6 saved a back stab with total surprise on you as it became a normal attack.

Groddam in a twist of luck too, horribly missed with his shield bash (counts as if you used a two weapon attack and a 15 Dex is bad to do this) but throwing the Thug off you hit him with your Axe while he hit you back ouch 8 pts.

Kree, your attack on the lead thug surprised him and caught him off guard allowing your Long Sword to hit him but he was able to dodge your dagger attack.

Senuviel, your first shot blast through the invisible wall that is up around the  mage, a slight waver of light appears around the first arrow before it passes through to kill the mage as he casted his spell, You see the mage start to turn invisible then get plucked by the arrow and disappear.  Only part of the arrow is seen floating about 6 " off the ground.

Bruga, you roll off to the side and grab a dagger turn and see half of an arrow floating 6" off the ground.

Clair stops upon seeing the arrow do it's business  Bruga, make sure that invisible mage is really dead then turns back to the rest of the fighting.

Actions?

Status:
Miki, 7 pts damage and the lead thug and surprise thug are on you

Lead Thug - wounded 5 pts - attacking Miki still

In a surprising bout of luck or it was just Bruga being Bruga his dagger sails into and embeds itself into the dark capped shape (8 hp dam).  Screeching in a horrific way, the creature, while ignoring Clair's attempt to turn it picks up the sleeping thug and turns and glares at Bruga - somehow knowing it was he who threw the dagger (or at least that is what Bruga feels). you all see a wright before your eyes look about then screech and jump/fly into the air.

Bruga your dagger is buried within the wright.  You will need another weapon.

Senuviel, you get one free +2 shot at the wright before it flies off out of reach.

Clair just stands there holding her holy symbol still (trembling)

Kree, Groddam and Maki.  The leader takes the hits by Mkai and Kree, staggers but keeps running at full speed, blood seeping and dripping to the ground from numerous wounds, but he is still standing and not slowed by them.

Kree, you are the only one that could possibly catch up to the lead thug but you would be far away from the rest of the group if you do end up catching up to him (you would be in his turf, alone if that happens)

OOC - Groddam, since you did not have a range weapon I assumed you were watching the fallen thug drop.

Maki misses hitting the sleeping thug as he fell.

Bruga though a good roll, it is Senuviel that gets the killing shot as he drops his sword and pulls out his bow, his first shot hit the wright while the second one really does nothing but flip into the air as it was a rushed follow up shot.

Senuviel rushes his shots but manages to hit the flying wright, killing it.

Groddam and Clair stand ready watching the sleep thug land with a thud awake now.

Kree runs down the ally way bow out and turns the corner, empty no one there not even an ally cat.

Senuviel examines the spellbook for a while and then he notices some parchment tucked in there. The elf opens the parchment and let a soft whistle out.

Hey mates, you have to see this.

The elf then shows the note on the parchment to everybody. It is written:

" Take harry, larry, willy, lou, jock, crudar the fake, jeramy and set up an ambush in the ally way tonight.  there will be a troop of fools you need to take out.  your pay is in the water barrel at the end of the ally way.

Astar.

Well...there's still some payment to collect on the water barrel, aye. Bruga, would mind checking the barrel? The warrior/wizard then speaks to everybody again. We are deep involved in this, my friends, and as I've said before, at the weird trail with the fake king, it seems Astar has the upper hand on us. He's always a step ahead. it seams the empty barrel is empty, the barrel with water in it just has water.  Groddam, while waiting for Bruga to finish his barrel rolling, notices that the wall of the building where the barrels where up against looks like it was freshly fixed.

Maki and group - The 2 very fine looking shields do not have any rust on them and appear to be in great shape.  The two sets of very fine looking leather appear to look brand new and the slashes and gashes your weapons should have done against them are only scratches on the leather.  The other two shields and suites of leather are beaten, bent and cut up - very well worn.  The weapons are in a varying state of normalcy - not magical.

Clair comments, guys, I think those two shields and those two suites of leather armor might be magical.  Senuviel, do you have any way to detect magic on them?   i also have two spells left both blesses or cure lights.

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 149):

Groddam and Kree - DM chuckle, please roll a d100 then a D20.  Kree when you added your weight to the ground next to the newly repaired wall, the ground gave way.

Groddam you realized too late that there was a soft spot in the earth you where standing on and unfortunately Kree's weight was enough to set the "trap" off.

OOC - yes, this is considered a trap by means of the construction.  Bruga could have detected it and Groddam alone given another round or two (Dwarf thing with stone and ground work) (he had stated he was checking it all out) would have found it.

The ground gives way as Kree walks up next to Groddam acting out swinging a weapon or wnating to dance with the Dwarf?  You see them both flail there arms and knee jerk in an attempt to jump away but alas the ground is too quick and starts to swallow them up.

OOC - just awaiting on those two's rolls for results of a hungry ground.

Re: On the way there

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 152):

The group sees Kree just drop like a rock out of sight, the ground giving way completely took him off guard.

You all see Groddam desperately grab the edge of the now forming pit and look up with that look of oh bother now what and looses his grip and falls in.

Kree, you dropped in like a rock but you where able to nimbly land and roll which was lucky because as we all know Dwarfs are not the most graceful when they fall.  Groddam lands with a thump where you just where at.

Though bruised and very dirty, you two seem no worse for ware.

OOC - Kree, your 100 was bad but your 6 was good as you where able to avoid any damage landing since you went quickly down you avoided a Dwarf thumping damage.  Groddam, your hanging on saved you from falling fast like Kree did though your landing was not one to write home about, because you hung on your drop was not a bad one plus you avoided thumping Kree.

Kree and Groddam, you are in a dark room except for the small amount of dim light from the hole you fell in.

Bruga finds nothing in the barrels.

Clair moves close to the edge of the pit and examines it while looking in.  The edge of the pit looks sturdy and if the group wants they can attach a rope n grapple and climb down.  It is dark but the moon is out full.

Kree, you smell what you think is a human bathroom over by the noise.  You also here a slight hiss behind you on the other wall.

Senuviel urges the three friends in the pit. Let's move, shall we? Before those blasted slavers return with an army after us. We have three ladies here that need imediate care, we can plan our strike back later while we take some rest at a tavern or at Clair's church.

Re: On the way there

Senuviel ponders the information a bit before answering. It would be really convenient to take a look at it, noble dwarf, but I'm wary of the combat and also I've run out of spells, I won't have a chance to break the magic seal -if there really is one- before having a good night of rest. Also, these ladies need imediate assistance, we should provide safety for them as soon as possible. The elf switches his gaze to Kree and the others. I also think we should have some rest and plan better our next steps, we've been on this errand for what, two, three days in a row? Since we've entered that accursed dungeon. I say we disappear for now, regroup at a tavern and prepare our plan of attack carefully. As I've said before, dealing with slavery includes dealing with powerful and resourceful people, we should step carefully from now on.

Listenign to the others, Kree frowned.  He wanted...in the worst way...to get into that door. But he knew they were right. No use  saving  folks if you just got them killed.

reaching into his pack, he took out a piece of chaulk and  wrote an Elvish rune on the wall above the hole...the rune stood for " death Elf'. Kree  slipped his  pack back on after replacing the chaulk....My Clan's Hunters use this rune to tell slavers  we are about...once word gets around, any other Hunters in the area will begin to take an interest..

Looking to the women he says, we should get  you to the temple , first...from there you should make the decsion of returning to your homes..if they still stand...or..go to my village. Many people who were rescued joined Clan Razorhawk..some..even become hunters themselves...but first..we Follow Good Clair to  the Temple...

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 207):

LOL, surprisingly you make it to Clair's temple before to long, about 2 hours walk.

you are greeting and welcomed in.  You are known among the 1/2 ling's in the temple and have warm beds and good food and drink to enjoy before you retire.

and one last thing your given heals to put all in god health (max HP), after the three lady's are sent to there own rooms for cleanup, they had decided to let the Temple pick there fate since they all really liked it at the Temple (future info for a good ending story all three will become priests by your actions bringing them here)

In the morning you all are given 2 weeks travel rations and a map of the area including towns and cities within a weeks horse ride of the temple.  OOC - note, I am short on map making abilities right now but enough to say you could go where you wish as i will detail the maps info on a later post.

OOC - Also, sorry, I am not in contact with the original DM so I do not know what he had planned in the other city and beyond but no fear, Astar is around slaving and it is your choice to find him or not.  I have a more sensible campaign set up then the last one that is aligned with slavers - if you choose that way.  Remember, this is a world that is always changing and you hold your own destiny so you could end up following a different path, not to worry I will make sure where ever you choose to go it will be an adventure.  I will be updating the experience points this week for that little jaunt and will try to keep up EXP postings as you go so you can level up more readily if you deserve it and are alive to do so.  Clair and Snare will be NPC's for the group as I see no need to have them leave.

So, the story unfolds, you are fresh and ready to go, but where?  that place you planned on getting a map for from the scribe or some where else? the Swamp? the Gypsy camp you have not found a way to yet (except Bruga) the town you went to while working for Astar or another place like the elven woods or Dwarven mountains?  Name where you wish to go and off you go :)  Even the subways of NY oh wait wrong story line but you could end up there is you choose ;)

As he takes a  deep sip from his  Wine, Kree nods to Maki...most will show some taint of evil., but that is not the best way to tell...that may only be a warning. I, Myself, have been told there is darkness lingering around me...but..that is the part of me that drives  me ever one, to kill slavers....

His is quiet for a bit, then looked at Maki,..My village had a trusted Halfling firend. He would serve as a guide to bring  caravans to our Village, were we traded Bows, arrows  and elven Jewerly, for food, and other weapons.. we had a sword maker, who's blades fetched high sums..and hisbrother  was one of your leading swordmasters...but the HAlfling turned in us, leading a slaver caravan to our Village, in exchange for Gold, and the life of his family....he shook his head,..he would not have shown any more darkness then I,save for the slight taint of greed...I have killed and tortured slavers who begged for thier lives, saying they had to do as they were told, or thier own families would suffer the fate of being a slave...

now and again, it is easy to pick one out...the boots they weaar...the Keyring on thier belt, or they way they leer at a Barimaid, of woman in the  a Marketplace. Thier actions....do they seem to think they are more powerful then they should be? It is like a Drug to them..the power they hold over other people..to make them fulfill needs, no matter how base they are....

His eyebrows narrow,..the fat Holywarrior that turned us  in?...how many people will be toren from thier families, how many will die, because he did not let us do..what needed to be done?..Tymora and beshaba has  seen fit to make him pay for that mistep with his life....but it will not help those whose lives have been torn apart....

Looking up, watching the  waitresses, and the people who sit enjoying the drinks and company of thier  friends,..My goal? To rid this area of such threats....and once my homeland is  free...perhaps, spread  Slaver's Bane further...each slave will save that joins  my clan..thatjoins my Village..makes it stronger..and perhaps...one out of every10 will become a Hunter as well..before  too long? Senuviel sips his mead and munches a bunch of bread with deer's meat, then he speaks. We all have much to learn and with all the things we have passed through as a group, we've been through a lot, lately, specially when it comes to trust each other. Even though we all have our grudges, ghosts from the past or taints in our souls, different point of views, etc, we work well as a team and it seems Maki adn Groddam are doing meddling well with us too. The elf takes another sip of mead. I understand Kree's feelings. Elves love freedom and the contact with nature and its living beings. You lock an elf in a dungeon for too long and he loses the will to live, making a bad slave or even dying. The fact Astar is an elf slaver only contributes to fuel hate and prejudice. I don't feel the same way as Kree does, we wizards are trained to reason, ponder and balance the situation before we take decisions. Harsh decisions in wizardry often turn out as disasters. I'll respect any decisions we take, but I vow we don't act harshly when we don't need to. The elf's eyes move from Maki to Groddam. And what about you two? What do you think?

Cair softly speaks, Kree, your soul is deep in your ways of thinking, fear not Basheba will guide you when the time is right.  sighs, taking of life without provocation is dire if you press your luck and your actions and words do not reflect thought and mission while playing your cards in luck and what Basheba grants you.

Maki, strong holy warrior, evil alone is not enough to make rightful decisions, luck has brought you this far, smiles and to us as we will help meld you to a better person for even evil can be good grinning and good can be evil.

Senuviel, straight and true, magic is your course and you think almost too wisely chuckles, judgment of others is luck at times and not at other times.  Yes, Elves has been a target of slavers but alsa so have other races.

Bruga, Bruga, we will all learn a lot nore before the day is out, trust your companions whether they are lucky in picking there paths or not you have held strong so keep that as you grow because we all need each other and our odd ways for luck, yes and Besheba have brought us together.

Groddam, the mighty Dwarf, luck may not be much in your vocabulary but strength and truth is and some luck grinning, you balance us out.

now slavers are always going to be around, that is how luck draws the playing feild, it is our wills  to keep the cards drawn to be numbers only and no face cards.  Me an Snare will follow all of your to whatever end there is, good, bad, lucky or unlucky as that is what life has drawn for us.

And I agree, no torture no un motivated killing, we must give everybody there due till the show there hand.  shakes her head, we were at one point helping slavers without knowing it so in truce, we were slavers but luck is on our side because we prevailed for a higher purpose so let's think before we act, a little bit but yes Slavers are to be brought to justice, who's?

Smiles, now, what is it we do?  Gypsy camp or North or was it Northwest Bruga??

I think you got it wrong, Maki. They've been cursed. Bound to live inside the limits of their own camp by a foul circle of magic. They're not exactely undead but powerful illlusion deceives our eyes making the gypsies look as they were undead. But fortunately Bruga here knows how to get inside the circle. Our task should be simple, the only problem being on how to break the enchantment without unleashing any sort of side or ill effect upon us or the gypsies.

That house is used by slavers no doubt. Probably they expect we take the bait and return there to check the house and get into their trap. I say we deal with the gypsies first. If we return to that house, the only thing we're going to find there is another bunch of thugs.

Senuviel then adds in a more somber tone. As usual they are watching us, I say we take a different approach, something that shows them we've lost the interest in their business. And then when the time is right, we strike back swiftly.

In reply to Clair Brandywhine (msg # 257):

The group packs and heads out toward the swamp and the Gypse camp.

Along the way the group allows a wagon to pass, it is beat up but solid.  Looks like one of those big grain wagons with high sides and no windows/doors being pulled by 4 Oxen.  It creaks and groans as it passes.  The driver and helper on the front bench.

Snare grows at the wagon as it passes but once it passes is happy to be by Clairs side.

It is near evening when you hit a cross road - one to go directly to the camp/aka salt line and another that scurts the campp toward the swamp and has a trial to that other salt line spot you found early in the adventure - remember the gator :)

Actions?
Directly to the camp,
side trail to other salt line?
Go back and chase down that wagon?
hit the opposite direction of the camp and see what lies out that way?
Go look for more gators in the swamps?
Stop for the night?

Turning and looking the  other Direction he shrugged, would be  nice to free the Gypsies...but they have  been held this long...another  few hours   should not matter....BUT he held  up a finger,...if there  are slaves in that wagon...we will have saved them....if there are not?...word  will get around that someone hunting the roads, and that may slow do slaver traffic for a while....if they carry slaves...we  kill them ..and that that stops  these fellows...we could even use the wagon to help break the salt line?...perhaps, even us it as a Bridge for the gypsies to cross over?

Senuviel smiles a friendly smile. They're coming down the way, good sir. You see...there's a holy man with us in bulk armor, so he moves a bit slower due to the weight of it, also, there's a dwarf and a halfling cleric of Tymora, their short legs give them a hard time on a sprint, eh. I am Senuviel Alantir, their envoy for diplomatic matters, there's also a ranger with us, a fellow elf but he's probably around in the woods checking for enemies and scouting the area. Senuviel pauses a bit and then lets a smile go again. So you know nothing about this Astar os his business, well...I guess I just took your time then. I don't recall offering you any protective service lad, but if this is the case, I'm sure our holy champion will promptly agree in case your business is honest.

Kree, you notice, now, that dirt and stuff was falling to the front and the young lad is now looking at you with a freighted look - he has no weapons.

Group you are at the back of the wagon, Kree is on top and Senuviel has his hands up.  You all cannot make out what is being said, yet.

The wagon is still moving.

The young lad recovers some and points to a half obscured hatch - master Kree, it is hinged to me and you just need to pull it up till it opens else it will re close there is a cath to hold it in place.   looking puzzled, only grain is in the wagon - look see.

Snare just is lowly growling as he and Clair circle the wagon.

The lad perks up and with a quickk look to the driver slowly opens the hatch and sets  it.  Reaches in and pulls out a handfull of grain. Backs away and looks to Kree, Master Kree, go ahead an see too.

The driver nods at the lad, grins at Kree, marking my wagon will cost you a gold.  Lucky i do not charge you for slowing me down nor touching my grain with your hands.

Chuckles at the false sides comment.    She can hold 3 tons of grain, yes I have two compartments but the hatch allows access to both from one spot.  I would not have empty space on my wagon nor waste time with contraband as that usually get's you in the end.

Maki - No evil, no evil intent though you pick up the driver is not that happy but nothing bad is sensed within a 10' radius as you walk about the wagon and grounds.  though Snare glows evil intent but not at you at the wagon.

Black Bart approaches the wagon.  Yup he is huge, a big un.  Horse included.  kree you feel the need to escape - get out of his way, get down and move to the side of the road.  Which you do without realizing it.

Bruga you get into the hatch and down the one side of the grain, but well, are having trouble getting about in the grain somehow surviving swimming in it though how you do not know.  the area in the wagon is vast compared to the outside - or is it just claustrophobia setting in?  you also feel the need to escape and well, get the heck out of dodge.

Bruga please, another 3 D20's and a D100 if you can.

Black Bart dismounts and approaches the driver.  He is huge standing 10' tall by everyone assumptions.  He looks to the driver, well?  why are you not at your meeting point?

The driver stammers, looks about to escape then slowly points to Kree, they stopped me last and wanted to search the wagon.  Fools think we run contraband within the wagon instead of grain.  i did first run into trouble with some bandit humanoids but they were not much just had to cut our way out and had been trying to make up time when they stopped me. He stammers some more then fall silent.

Black Bart looks to the group, everyone feels like they are holding a weight over there heads.

The lad chirps up, We was poliyte an all an they started out nice but got pushy bout stopping us or we could have meet ya on time.

Black Bart looks to the driver, well, do not just stand there stammering, get back up and get  this tub of wood going, i got me a delivery to make an you ain't getting it done.

The driver back in his seat calls the lad to make sure the hatch and wagon is secure then turn to Black Bart, sir, YOU deal with these foolish ghost hunters so I can get back on schedule.

The lad does a quick run the wagon and fiddles with the chains on the back door resetting them some and jumps up onto the top of the wagon (fairly easily) and resets the hatch then jumps into his seat all way quicker then you thought possible.

Black Bart looks to the group, OK you meddlers, I would have a right mind to fine you for this delay and make you complete hard labor as restitution BUT I am behind schedule and need this wagon accounted for SO I'll let you off this time.

Remounts his huge horse and escorts the wagon away.

Bruga, you got down because you also got that feeling like the others to get to the side of the road.

Everyone is now standing a the side of the road watching the wagon and Black Bart move away.  The feeling slowly fades.  you can freely do what you want.

Clair whispers once they are out of site, Black Bart was an illusion, he was really a little Gnome on a pony in robes, not sure what the feeling was but that was creepy.  I am guessing we should get to the Gypse camp but remember that fighting seen down the road yer?

As they prepare to go, Kree gets ready to Jog out ahead as Point, he looks at Maki for a second, with a tilt of his head. There is no malice in his voice, just honest question,we do not know...why they people running that wagon, were so worried, and , according to Fair Clair, had a Gnome who guised himself as a darkwarrior, and spread  concern through us all....we may have been right, and not found the compartments...we may have been wrong..and the cost was just, a few moments of their time.

I just wish you to think on this, since...you are the Holy warrior, and I am a Mere Hunter....had we found  people in that wagon, that were taken to be slaves..or worse..would you not have  wanted to aid them? his wry smile only goes up one side,..there is no waste of time. when it comes to aiding those who cannot aid themselves, perhaps...had your people been plagued by slavers, your thought  might   be more....pointed?</DarkGreen

With a nod to Maki, he says,<DarkGreen>.it is good for you to question, some  actions  i may take. For vengence fuels my actions towards slavers, and slaver friends...but..temper that with this.
he pauses for a moment to get his thoughts,..Evil uses Good's intentions, to aid its work. The best way to fight  Evil, is to fight as Evil would.

Pointing to Clair and the others,..we have  been cheated, and used, by the darkest of our foes...WE...US...almost delivered our Dwarven friend intgo slavery, as well as Poor  Snare...so..my trust is at a low level....for that? I hope you can forgive my actions..

Grinning sheepishly, there seems to be no worry whether he is forgiven, merely..understood... Kree will lope off to the point.

Maki shrugs at Kree's words. "Don't take my words wrongly. I've seen the driver of that wagon hold a crossbow, ready to shoot. I think things could escalate quickly. But i can't hold it against him. In the end it was us that tried to stop the wagon. It was normal to think we might have bad intentions.

Better to waist some time and come up with nothing, then ignore a good hunch. Maybe next time you'll be correct."

Re: On the way there

Senuviel returns his arrow to the quiver and shoulders his bow. He goes to Clair and Bruga as he exchange some words with them. Are you ok, friends? That was quite a sensations, eh? The elf gives a stern look at Clair. Iluusion, uh. Darn coward gnome. This just adds to the suspicion that fellow's guilty. The warrior/mage pauses a bit. Well, we are not the king's guard, the gnome had his right to think we were bullies, after all.

The elf walks alone for some seconds and the gets to Maki. Don't worry big friend Senuviel taps Maki in the back. Kree has never let us down. You'll learn how to trust his instincts despite all his harsh decisions. Senuviel smiles and continues walking beside the Holy Warrior.

Bruga picks gain our various pockets and crannies; and, being thrifty, deposits it on a large handkerchief. He ties it up and stows it. One never knows he remarks.

You head back down the road toward the Gypse camp area.  you pass a juncture were there was a brutal fight but now a bit longer ago.  nothing remains worthy of your inspections.  The road intersect another trail.  do you stay on the road toward the gypse camp area or take the trail as it will end up looping toward the swamp and another spot by the gypse camp?

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 371):

The Trial then says Clair, Let's go.

You travel the trail for most of the day, the normal animal tracks and occasional humanoid footprint show on the used but seldom by nothing but animals trail.  Dear are prevalent in this part as the trial will wind it's way around the swamp some, edge near it then turn toward an area you found the Gypse's salt trail at.

You guess you have about 3 hours to get to that point, unfortunetly it will be dark in 1 - 2 hrs.

Do you press on or camp, and rest up and prepare (spells) for the potential encounters tomorrow?

About an hour later you find a small hill with a tree at the top center, an old Oak tree.   At the base on either side are smaller Willow trees that make good cover and a berry bush or seven complete the setting.

Do you have a camp fire, set watches, who is on what watch?

Senuviel helps on whatever needs his friends have, he then speaks. I can make the first watch, but I'll need an eight hours sleep after for I need to rest to replenish my spells for tomorrow. Saying so, the elf prepares his sleeping spot but also checks his bow, arrows and swords.

Bruga, whose whose surname perhaps should be barkclinger, climbs the oak tree to see what he can see and find what he can find. He does place a dagger between his teeth.

after  cleaning them, and tossing the remains even further into the wilds, he sets up a few sticks  for spits, and  sets them before the fire...not much..but it will be  fresh hot meat...

Those who need to do spells should take the late watches if they can keep an eye out meanwhile. Or it doesn't make any difference if we sleep late. They sleep first so they can do their things. The watchers can snooze in.
