"Well, i don't know anything about hissing, but you are correct. It shouldn't be too hard to verify if  what they speak is true or not." He turns to the woman that spoke before. "If they are indeed mute, they shouldn't have a problem with showing us what is in their mouths."

OOC Kree, the hiss was by teh door not by the women

All three locks are picked/opened.

Indeed the two mute lady's have no tongue as it has been cut out.

the talkivity one ) sighs, well, three lady's are free, sort of (sarcastically said) woo us, our heroes do not trust us as we may be a trap.  Men, Ok, I can not vouch much on the two -points to the two mute ladys - but I was captured in a raid on my home village far from here, - she mentions some distant elven village Kree and Senuviel have herd of  - I've sung my butt off to stay alive, was sold twice and now find myself here. looks at the group obviously frustrated - so, are you letting us out of here or what?

Maki nods to the woman. "Yes, you are free. If you can, the best way would be to simply climb the way we came from, since we have no idea where the doors lead. We'll help pull you up, but we really should hurry."

He looks briefly at Kree, before adding. "I guess i should apologise for the mistrust. This group has been through a lot already, when trying to deal with slavers, so not to fall for any more traps, they need to stay vary all the time."

Re: On the way there

Kree shakes his head slowly,..I never  apologize for mistrust. Too many people ahve died, or have been taken, because of trust...this group..itself, is in the striats we are in, because  we trusted 2 holy warriors . Turns out? They did mor edamage to us, then our foes...

After Placing the Piton back in the pack with his hammer, He Motions for the  women to follow him towards the Rope.. He kneels at the rope  and  ties a small Loop at the Bottom, then he calls out to those  above,...THREE WOMEN COMING UP, ONE AT A TIME...PULL THEM UP, AS THEY HAVE BEEN IN A CELL FOR A WHILE....CLAIR...HAVE SNARE KEEP WATCH....

Looking at the Ladies he says,Put one  foot in the loop, wrap your hands  arounf the rope and allow the others to Pull you up...Good MAki will  aid you...

Turning back to Groddam,  He shoulders his bow  and draws his Blade, taking the lantern to the door.....now?..let us see what we have here...aye?

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg # 198):

The last to go up the the elf lady who can speak.

Up top are three raggedly dressed and very dirty lady's.  two humans and an Elf.  the two humans cannot talk (tongue cut out) but the lady elf can - seeing Clair she moves over and asks her to what end will we three endure now in your company.

Snare sniffs them then stands next to Clair.

Clair looks them over for injuries but finds none she can do much good with.  Turns to the Elven lady, my lady, how rude we must be, I am Clair, and your name is?   the Elf lady just grins, call me elf lady Clair, it is simpler that way.  with a sigh Clair says, your end will be freedom, might be my church can aid you to get home or to what direction you choose to do as I say your slavery is at an end now.

Kree, Groddam n Mika.  The door is locked, stock and barrel.  Groddam you believe it is magically sealed.

Actions?

Senuviel looks in the elf woman's eyes. You all will be free, I assure you. Either by Clair's church or by force of arms. I swear that Astar bastard will not see the end of it. His punishment will be swift. I'll make him pay for every single soul he enslaved, tenfold. Mark my words, mistress.

Senuviel urges the three friends in the pit. Let's move, shall we? Before those blasted slavers return with an army after us. We have three ladies here that need imediate care, we can plan our strike back later while we take some rest at a tavern or at Clair's church.

Re: On the way there

Senuviel ponders the information a bit before answering. It would be really convenient to take a look at it, noble dwarf, but I'm wary of the combat and also I've run out of spells, I won't have a chance to break the magic seal -if there really is one- before having a good night of rest. Also, these ladies need imediate assistance, we should provide safety for them as soon as possible. The elf switches his gaze to Kree and the others. I also think we should have some rest and plan better our next steps, we've been on this errand for what, two, three days in a row? Since we've entered that accursed dungeon. I say we disappear for now, regroup at a tavern and prepare our plan of attack carefully. As I've said before, dealing with slavery includes dealing with powerful and resourceful people, we should step carefully from now on.

Re: On the way there

Listenign to the others, Kree frowned.  He wanted...in the worst way...to get into that door. But he knew they were right. No use  saving  folks if you just got them killed.

reaching into his pack, he took out a piece of chaulk and  wrote an Elvish rune on the wall above the hole...the rune stood for " death Elf'. Kree  slipped his  pack back on after replacing the chaulk....My Clan's Hunters use this rune to tell slavers  we are about...once word gets around, any other Hunters in the area will begin to take an interest..

Looking to the women he says, we should get  you to the temple , first...from there you should make the decsion of returning to your homes..if they still stand...or..go to my village. Many people who were rescued joined Clan Razorhawk..some..even become hunters themselves...but first..we Follow Good Clair to  the Temple...

He scrunches Snare behind the ears as he talks,..Snare and I will be rear guard on on way to the temple...let us  be on the Move...

Re: On the way there

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 207):

LOL, surprisingly you make it to Clair's temple before to long, about 2 hours walk.

you are greeting and welcomed in.  You are known among the 1/2 ling's in the temple and have warm beds and good food and drink to enjoy before you retire.

and one last thing your given heals to put all in god health (max HP), after the three lady's are sent to there own rooms for cleanup, they had decided to let the Temple pick there fate since they all really liked it at the Temple (future info for a good ending story all three will become priests by your actions bringing them here)

In the morning you all are given 2 weeks travel rations and a map of the area including towns and cities within a weeks horse ride of the temple.  OOC - note, I am short on map making abilities right now but enough to say you could go where you wish as i will detail the maps info on a later post.

OOC - Also, sorry, I am not in contact with the original DM so I do not know what he had planned in the other city and beyond but no fear, Astar is around slaving and it is your choice to find him or not.  I have a more sensible campaign set up then the last one that is aligned with slavers - if you choose that way.  Remember, this is a world that is always changing and you hold your own destiny so you could end up following a different path, not to worry I will make sure where ever you choose to go it will be an adventure.  I will be updating the experience points this week for that little jaunt and will try to keep up EXP postings as you go so you can level up more readily if you deserve it and are alive to do so.  Clair and Snare will be NPC's for the group as I see no need to have them leave.

So, the story unfolds, you are fresh and ready to go, but where?  that place you planned on getting a map for from the scribe or some where else? the Swamp? the Gypsy camp you have not found a way to yet (except Bruga) the town you went to while working for Astar or another place like the elven woods or Dwarven mountains?  Name where you wish to go and off you go :)  Even the subways of NY oh wait wrong story line but you could end up there is you choose ;)

while they eat, Kree throws an idea  out on the table,..I am thinking we should go and destroy a goodly part of the circle that keeps the Gypies trapped, then from there..start hunting slavers...so i may ...'have  a chat with them'...using thier  own ways to get them to talk...sooner or later we will find  our foe,but..as we do this? we will be whittliing away at the slavers and thier resources?

Re: On the way there

As he takes a  deep sip from his  Wine, Kree nods to Maki...most will show some taint of evil., but that is not the best way to tell...that may only be a warning. I, Myself, have been told there is darkness lingering around me...but..that is the part of me that drives  me ever one, to kill slavers....

His is quiet for a bit, then looked at Maki,..My village had a trusted Halfling firend. He would serve as a guide to bring  caravans to our Village, were we traded Bows, arrows  and elven Jewerly, for food, and other weapons.. we had a sword maker, who's blades fetched high sums..and hisbrother  was one of your leading swordmasters...but the HAlfling turned in us, leading a slaver caravan to our Village, in exchange for Gold, and the life of his family....he shook his head,..he would not have shown any more darkness then I,save for the slight taint of greed...I have killed and tortured slavers who begged for thier lives, saying they had to do as they were told, or thier own families would suffer the fate of being a slave...

now and again, it is easy to pick one out...the boots they weaar...the Keyring on thier belt, or they way they leer at a Barimaid, of woman in the  a Marketplace. Thier actions....do they seem to think they are more powerful then they should be? It is like a Drug to them..the power they hold over other people..to make them fulfill needs, no matter how base they are....

He shrugs,..when in doubt? You strike them down, if you are wrong, apologize later...

Re: On the way there

Bruga turns serious. Around me, Kree, you don't. You play judge, jury, and executioner; you take the drug same as slavers. And torture will do you worse. I think you're sick at heart, and a cure is deeds done nobly. You want to save much, you need to grow much...me, I'm willing to abide by you then, and I need to learn much also if I'm to be competent.

Re: On the way there

The elf smiles a crooked smile at Bruga,..I have told you the story, that the Druids and Rangers use...Fire against fire to stop a fire burning through the forest...I am the fire that fights  the fire as far as the slavers go....I have said this  more then once....Slavers...evil...does not  fear good...nor the actions of good..they fear having done to them, what they do to others...You must be willing to take harsher steps to stop harsh actions, elsewise?...You bear the blood on your soul, that those you spared...spilled.

His eyebrows narrow,..the fat Holywarrior that turned us  in?...how many people will be toren from thier families, how many will die, because he did not let us do..what needed to be done?..Tymora and beshaba has  seen fit to make him pay for that mistep with his life....but it will not help those whose lives have been torn apart....

Looking up, watching the  waitresses, and the people who sit enjoying the drinks and company of thier  friends,..My goal? To rid this area of such threats....and once my homeland is  free...perhaps, spread  Slaver's Bane further...each slave will save that joins  my clan..thatjoins my Village..makes it stronger..and perhaps...one out of every10 will become a Hunter as well..before  too long? People will have  second thoughts, about turning to slavery, as a way to make 'easy coin'...everydead slaver...helps make that abundantly clear...
