The next day to the Gypsies camp

You all are awake and refreshed, you set out on the trial toward the Gypsies camp after a quick breakfast.  You all realize to that you are all healed and invigorated like you were asleep for days. No one is hurt - at full HP and all spells are back.

Along the way you hear "combat" metal weapons on wood and grunts and groans along with short screams of pain off the trial toward the swamp area?

Actions?

Re: The next day to the Gypsies camp

Senuviel knocks an arrow on his bow as he alerts his friends. Have you heard that? Those sounds and voices? Kree, Bruga you are the stealthy ones, can you check this out? Maki and Groddam, swords ready, eh. Claire, dear, you and Snare, support. Senuviel moves as silently as he can in the trail, trying to position himself in a way he gets advantage in case of combat.

Kree looks to Bruga, give a jerk of his head in the direction of the noise, and moves  as as fast as he is able, his bow in hand, as he  looks to see what may be causing the noise of battle.

Re: The next day to the Gypsies camp

In reply to Maki (msg # 7):

The group easily follows the "noise" as you plow, push and sneakily slither along the ground.

As you approach you all see a clearing and a group of figures going at it.  from this distance you have not been spotted but you see:

6 man sized humanoid forms in battered looking dirty armor, shields and spears moving in and out of position trying to stick it to a lone humanoid figure in heavier armor and shield slashing with a sword at them.

Littered on the ground are 4 unmoving humanoid figures.  none are moving and you see the tell tale sign of fresh wounds.

The distance is about 80 yards through the clearing to get to the battle.

Who do you help? or do you help at all?

Actions as all of you have made it to the clearing and the battle seen.  Kree you get first action before anyone else then Bruga, Senuviel followed by Clair.

OOC - Groddam and Khorden are not with the group anymore as the players stopped posting a while ago so I phased them out.  Those characters will return as "new" NPC's into the group f you encounter them again. As such I left them in the character postings listings.  Who knows when you will encounter Dwarves again :)  Also left the GM there in case for some reason he shows up again.

So Saying, Kree move  moves out quickly, Knowing  , if any see him without an arrow nocked, they will have the guard down...until..the bow  comes up to fire!

Once he gets within a decent range, He will let fly  at the nearest of the Humanoids.

Kree takes down one of the attacking humanoids.

The remaining 5 attack the one in succession this turn ignoring Maki's call though the one does look your way as he hacks back;

Three hit the one hurting him but the one misses his attack.

Actions??  You are not sure what the 5 are going to do this next round since Kree took one of them down.

Kree, you can stop and fire again without the chance of one of them attacking you while you shoot at them (+4 for them to hit you)

Bruga you are sneaking around still??

Maki?  Are you going to charge them this round

Senuviel ?

Remember Kree is about 40 yards away the rest of you are about 70 yards away meaning it will take one round to get there before you all could attack.

Although the five still standing humanoids did look like bandits, the paladin couldn't simply attack an innocent until he could be sure that they might not be just defending themself, and the lone warrior is the bad one here.

"And you guys better stop with the hostilities.!"

Seeing how Maki realy is not in melee range but heck the equal charge o the 1/2 Orcs and Maki do make it a smashign hit in the middle - Kree you are now surrounded my 4 1/2 orcs and Maki swinging about.

OOC - DM hint - Kree, if you choose to continue firing at point blank +4 to hit, the 1/2 orcs that attack you also get a +4 to hit NEXT round since your defenses are tied up shooting arrows.   Senuveil this round you are not close enough for melee, this round :)

Maki and Kree crunch and pin cushion 2 1/2 orcs but alas they still stand and counter attack, one 1/2 orc attacks Clair and another throws his spear at Senuviel.

Clair and Snare attack back since the 1/2 orc is blocking her path to the fallen One.

Spitting an old elvish curse because of the fugitive orc, Senuviel's mind burns with wild thoughts about the skirmish but the warrior/mage is well discipline in the art of sword and in a second puts all his thoughts in order and gets quickly into action trying to organize a solid plan of combat.

In reply to Maki (msg # 50):

Kree leaps after the 1/2 Orc who ran - The 1/2 Orc attacking Kree also leaps and runs almost in stride with Kree - both of them leave Senuviel behind in the dust.  Senuviel you did not plan for that and are caught flat footed a round before you can resume the chase.

Kree, you have a 1/2 Orc closely running with you but you are winning the race as he slowly drops out behind you - he does poke at you with his spear which may be why he slowed or you are just faster ?  1/2Orc attacks Kree - Kree do you swing at the 1/2 Orc too? or keep running

Bruga, our Thief also turns and flees, you can take a stab at him if you like.  Maki, you will not reach the 1/2 Orc thief in time.  Snare turns and runs back toward Clair who has gone over to check on the One.

Kree get hot buy the 1/2 orc taking 3 pts damage.

Bruga misses and the Thief disappears into the brush.

Kree, the 1/2 orc you are chasing is making enough noise and a path you easily can follow.  The other 1/2 Orc that stabbed you peeled off and disappeared also into the brush.

Senuviel, you can chase after Kree, the 1/2 Orc that pealed off from Kree or go back to the group?

evil DM chuckle, So it looks like the group is seperating as Kree is chasing after 1 1/2 Orc, Bruga another and Senuveil a third which by the way are all in different directions.

maki and Clair with Snare a left alone with Yenchew.

Kree, the 1/2 Orc is just out of your reach and surprises you with his skill in just being able to keep in front of you.  He is at full panic sprint.  you are now 3 rounds away from the groups last known position and here no other sounds of pursuit.

Bruga, you start running in the direction of the Thief 1/2 orc, who is making a lot of noise running through the under brush and there is an easy path to follow.  You are 1 round away form the groups last position.

Senuviel, you rush after the 1/2 Orc and you too find it easy to follow him as these 1/2 Orcs seem no designed to be quiet when they are running.  you are 2 rounds away from the group position.

Kree is going North, Senuviel is going East and Bruga is going west from the last known Group position.

Clair gives Yenchew a clw.  but Yenchew does not stir out of unconsciousness.

Clair responds, We meet in a strange place zapped in time looking for, no, chasing a slaver - really weird stuff.  the king and his council sent us on a wild goose chase i think, looking for a magic compass. It all is getting foggy wait, was that a dream, was I really there?  No  I think not, sigh, Bruga, help explain it.  I remember helping children and being with you all but it is all congealed together.  Yenchew was there but like in a book I read to the children.

Maki, strange magics were cast upon us, i think by imposters of the kings council.  i saw a floating boat in the end when we all came back together.  There were others but it is like a fog remembering them.

Yenchew stats, I meet Senuviel, Kree and Bruga in a separate phase in time, I worked for a slaver they where trying to catch while also searching for a magical item.  I was sucked into that phase by the slaver, who will remain nameless for now, to deal with his affairs but as you can tell I turned the cheek and was making my amends when the phase was broken.  I  found myself on this side of the time and chased by blood hunters the slaver employed to deal with folks like me.  They will be back once they find out I am alive still.

looks to Clair, yes soon my memory will fog over too and I will not recall things like they happened, if I live that long.

Bruga cheerfully renders a song while Kree advances on the bridge.

Kree makes it to the bridge, checks it out and see nothing nor is attacked.  though the bridge in it's day could have taken down a rabbit easily now it can only kill a mouse :)

Unless otherwise noted, I will fast forward you to the next day as your night pas uneventful.   Clair will cast her CLW on whomever is the most wounded (HP vs Max Hp).

the night passes without any incidents, the bridge was just that a bridge.  Clair had casted her last CLW spell right before going to bed with Snare snuggled next to her as usual though anyone on watch will see his eyes as you move about.

The nightly sounds echo about and even Kree feels OK about resting a bit in the night.

DM: OK, I will need everyone to roll a d10 init for when your actions happen:

As the group circles the camp following the pathway, Each of you see or detect somethings - you can call out what it is or not but I posted for each to keep it simple.

Kree - you see fuzzy images of Gypsy's moving about and a distorted looking tent on fire

Senuviel - you see a shimmering smoky gypsy wagon and you hear cries of surprise, clash of metal and songs

Bruga - you see ghostly images of gypsy's rushing about

Maki - your detect evil goes off without you trying to your right as a ghostly image of something big is rushing at the group it is 10' and closing.

Clair - sees ghostly images of large creatures shimmering about

Snare - grows and shifts in a protective stance next to Clair

Actions?

CLair: she yells out I see large ghostly creatures running about, we must help and starts casting Bless.

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg # 185):

DM - Maki, you step up to intercept the large ghostly image it comes into focus, a very mean looking ogre is charging you - You may attack if you like for he is attacking you.

Kree, as you rush toward the tent those fuzzy images of gypsy's become all too real as you see three of them attempting to put out the fire while a 4th is fighting two Orcs.  you may attack an Orc of your choice as both see you coming.

Senuviel, you head towards the smoky wagon which come into focus as you see 6 Goblins running about it setting it to blaze.  It looks like a driver and another lad are fending off the goblins the best they can with a bow and spear from the drivers seat.  You do hear female scream from within.  Senuviel, you may shoot at the Goblins as they do not see you, yet.

Bruga, you duck to the center away from the action to realize that you and Clair are standing back to back with Snare at her side.  Clair just cast Bless so it affects you all for the next few rounds.

The grounds around the camp come into focus as the haze and blurry vision lessons.

You see some figures laying on the ground scattered about in frot of you and off to the fare left side another couple of wagons and some more figures in combat, to the fare end opposite you are three tents on fire and more figures fighting about and to the back right you see Yenchew hacking it out with a very familure 1/2 Orc Thief.

Please roll your attacks, Kree (sword), Maki (Morning Star), Senuviel (2 arrows).  let the combat begin :)

Just awaiting on Senuviels decision but this is the results so far:

The Ogre also misses Maki and bellows in frustration.
The Goblins miss the driver, the lad and Senuviel
The orcs miss Kree and the Gypse

Kree hits the Orc wounding him (5pts)
Clair misses the orc in a surprise attack
Yenchew misses the 1/2 orc thief
The Gypse nicks his Orc (1 pt dam)
The driver misses his Goblin
The lad again arrows to death his Gobliln

The 1/2 orc Thief pulls something out of his cloak while dodging Yenchew's attack and chuckles At Bruga's attempt to sneak up on him - "Little fool here again I see, well professional curtsy means I take care of you first"

Snare circles the Orc Clair and Kree attacked snarling at him

Actions:

Senuviel still may attack this round if he likes

Next round Maki is in mortal combat with an Ogre
Kree, Clair and Snare are attacking a wounded Orc
Senuviel is (maybe) attacking a Goblin (unless he hits em this turn)
A Gypse is attacking another Orc
The Driver and Lad are attacking the remaining Goblin
Yenchew is attacking the 1/2 Orc Thief

The 1/2 Orc Thief is pointing a small rod/stick/wand at Bruga completely ignoring Yenchew for some odd reason about professional curtsy's.

You hear more commotion about the camp, mainly women and children but it sounds like chanting and singing.

Re: The next day to the Gypsies camp

In reply to Maki (msg # 212):

With a moan and wimper, the Ogre falls as Maki and Kree strike true.

The 1/2 Orc Thief turns his wand on Yenchew and you hear a pop and Yenchew sails 70 yards back landing in a rumple of arms and legs just missing Gypsy's, wagons, horses and a burnt tent.  The 1/2 orc Thief chuckles looking at the wand, now that was better and turns to Bruga - Oh, you are a lucky one time to go and rubs a ring on his hand disappearing from sight.

Actions:

The Gypsy's ares till singing and chanting plus gathering the gear and it looks like breaking camp.

Yenchew is laying awkwardly on the ground about 70 yards away.  At the moment none of the Gypsy's have gone over to him though a few have looked his way.

Clair naturally rushes toward Yenchew - will get there in two rounds.
Snare continues to attack the 1/2 Orc Thief as he disappears.

Kree, you can fire two arrows at the disheartening 1/2 Orc Thief - just do not miss by a lot.

Maki and Senuviel???  The ogre is dead at you feet.

Bruga you can try to hit him again though you have a good idea Kree is trying to light em up

Senuviel gets to Kree. Any idea where the 1/2 orc might have gone? I tried to trace his magical energy to no avail, could only get sparks if energy in the area, that's all. And for some mysterious reason, casting the spell drained me out more than the usual. I wonder, what's wrong with this place.

The warrior/mage then inquires one of the gypsies. Uh..hello there. Who might be your leader? I wish to have a talk to him or her.

An older Gypsy man walks over to the group, my name is and smiles in surprise at Bruga - young fellow i recognize you, tis you break the spell?  shakes his head and Looking back o the group - Yes, well, something broke the spell.  The elders and I think it was a containment spell a very powerful one all of our powers could not break.

Thinks a moment Not sure who set us up trapped in here or when but ...

An older lady walks up interrupting him, finely dressed as a Gypsy women should be and calls out to the older man, it is time, we must be going, the sands are running low.

He looks to her then the group.   Time, I hoped to have more of it.   Looks to Yenchew, lad you are out of place here

Yenchew agrees

he continues That mean nasty fellow who got away, bet he had something to do with this  spreads his hands.  A simple device teleporting away.

He Sighs and looks at his Gypsy group almost ready to go wagons being loaded and horses being drawn together.

He points to the dead piled up, a lot more then you first expected, between20 - 30 bodies of varying races The dead will have to be properly disposed of by our customs so fret not there, we travel soon back to our home lands, we will take them with us.  some are our family departed and some are our enemies.

It looks like
points to Yenchew your path leads you along with a need to be take him back to his home before that other evil feller comes calling again for him plus I heard talk of a slaver trade starting up an I see your paths crossing the slavers again too.

He pauses and looks to the sky then back.    A vision, so soon?   yes, well I see a path you all shall take, at an intersection you shall wonder lost but time will help you.  beware the full moon.

The older lady calls again.   Sigh i must go. he points toward the swamp, your path awaits you, dare to take it, it is the hard road if one calls it a road. Then gives you all a warm thanks and good by as he has to get going on his path.
