In reply to Bruga Honeyfinder (msg # 787):

Maki your slaver dies.  the other keeps running.

Kree, you hit that slaver but he stays up running.

Kree, one slaver went to your right, two behind the now stopped wagon.

Bruga - pick locks roll please.

Clair and Snare stop and Clair surveys the damage of the group.

Yenchew has disappeared.

I assume you give chase?  if you shot your arrows at him, roll -4 to hit else roll a D4.

The other two will escape since everyone would have to go around the wagon.

Re: On the road yet again

Without any immediate thread, the paladin scans the surroundings. He can't see anyone from his group needing help, and the wagon was stopped as the slavers start to flee.

"LET THIS BE A LESSON TO YOU, SLAVERS... EVIL ACTS ALWAYS GET PUNISHED!" He yells after them.

He puts his mace away and loads a bolt into the crossbow. He moves to the driver's seat on the wagon, and defends the wagon from anyone else that might aproach.

Senuviel roll a D100

Kree, you drop the fleeing Slaver.  You also would need to roll realy well to catch any of the other slavers.  roll a D100

Bruga, out poor the women and children, all hugging you and smothering you as their hero.

Yenchew is sti away.

clair moves amoung the slaves checking them out.

Mki, no one is attacking the wagon or group 9unless you count the avalanche of slaves on Bruga.

Re: On the road yet again

Senuviel lets a curse go as he stops by the wagon seeing the slaver running away from the elf's grasp.

OOC: 21:21, Today: Senuviel Alantir rolled 58 using 1d100. Gotta catch'em all!

The elf returns to the back of the wagon in order to help the slaves. Come on good people, you're safe now, come, have a rest, we'll provide you some water and food. The warrior/wizard then goes to Kree and speaks as he lays his hand on his comrades shoulder.  Let them go for now, my friend, I'm pretty sure we're going to meet them again. I'll help the people, you and good Maki could search for any slaver that survived. I'll...I'll...help...Claire... The elf crumbles to the ground due to his wounds and the adrenaline that has left his body after the hard battle with the gigantic human.

A grin of dark satisfaction grows on the elf's  face, as  he sees the Glowing  arrow  Impact. He  sprints after the slavers, in hopes of  running them down, or tracking the hindmost.

He is, the freshest of his comrades, and hopes his elven Blood will permit him to outlast the Slavers in a distance run of death.

23:36, Today: Kree Quickshadow rolled 76 using 1d100. run!

Bruga laughs but then says....hero?! Not I. Look! there are your heroes. I just happened to work for a locksmith. ... Now, pay attention. We'll need to travel, and there's food and water to find unless there's a supply on the wagon. Any of those (he spits.) survive, they're apt to bring a party back. You're going to need to ride in the wagon unless you'd rather walk. Question is: Where are we all going to go to?

Re: On the road yet again

Maki quickly puts his crossbow away, and in a swift movement is already next to Senuviel.

"You did mighty good against a foe like that. Now rest, don't strain yourself too much. We got the situation under control." He spoke softly. He briefly touched the man and channeled some of his healing powers into him.
He looked at the slaves and since everyone looked healthy enough moved to get to the fallen slavers. He checks if any is still alive, and if they are not, what belongings they might have.

OOC: Maki heals Senuviel for 4HP

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg # 798):

Kree, Sadly you round the wagon and do not see any way you could catch the slavers for the wheat field shows no true path but a lot of crushed wheat here an there plus you do not hear them any more.

If you wish to chase after them you can but you would leave the group behind.

The slaves all gather around the group, one speaks, twis a bad man who caught us as some of us was hitten the outhouse an others walking home late at night.  Seem they was moving us about cause we had to get out of the town.  There more abouts les you got em to.

One squeeks, dem dat gos way will no be back here soon since you'ns opens up this spot.  Another puts in, I knows of other places maybe they at, cuase the move us bouts.

Last one speaks up before they fall silent waiting you orders, they in cohoots with bad Orcs selling us out.

Clair inspects them for injury's and health - she states they appear healthy just very dirty.

Yenchew comes back dragging one of the slavers, seems he is still held fast.   non of the others wanted to talk so I icked the runt of the little and let's him lay there still held.

He is  angry, Indeed...any of them still alive  out there?....Check all the dead ones, take whatever  we can get into the wagon...we  can sell the stuff off , and give coin to the children..

he stops at Yenchew,..well?..is there any alive..if so?  I will deal with them.

Re: On the road yet again

Maki goes about inspecting all the bodies and collecting any loot they might carry worth taking.

"Well only the one Yenchew cought appears to still be alive. The others are beyond help. There's also not much they had. Apparently being a slaver isn't such a good business after all."

Maki still puts anything worth taking on the ground near the freed slaves. " Those that can wield a sword should take one. We'll escort you to the nearest town, but just in case they have any more suprises waiting, we should be prepaired."

As the paladin waits for the men and some women to pick up arms, heals himself for a little bit more.

OOC: Maki uses up his Lay on hands and heals 4HP.

The few able bodies take up the weapons.

You find 16 sp and 2 long swords 2 daggers and 2 suites of human size leather armor.

Kree goes back and returns with the bodies of the other slavers.  You have 5 nets, and 5 long swords and 5 daggers and 5 suites of studded leather plus another 40 sp.

Re: On the road yet again

When Kree Gets  back to the Wagon. Is  sword  is Bloodied  from...'making sure'..the others were dead, and would not  come back as Undead.

Looking at the  slaves, he says,..allthese weapons  and equipment,  we  will sell at the next town, and  you folks can split the  proceeds.. We will have to   stay with the Wagon, In case these  Fellows had  any other  friends out there.

Turning to the slaver he says,...if they come back looking? They will have no problem finding your friends...I stracked the ehads, as neat  as i was able.

He  Points the Bloodied  weapon at the slaver,..now?  You are at the Crossroads  of your life. I it were up to be. You would be staked to a tree with  my name carved in your forehead. Sadly, There are some folks were, who are not that easy, with dispensing justice....so....My friends  will ask you  some question. Depending on how well you ansdwer?..You will either be taken back, to the mext town...or...the creatues who  hunt at Night, will have   one more body  to feast on...

Turning to the Others, he flicks the Blood off his sword onto the slaver,...ask....for  my blood is too hot right  now to talk to scum like  this...

Re: On the road yet again

Senuviel watches the scene with interest and then goes to Maki and taps the paladin's back. The elf speaks as if he was whispering to the ears of Maki but loud enough for the slaver to hear. I guess you're the one here to ask the questions, my dear paladin,  this one wouldn't lie before your god, would he? The elf points to the slaver and casts a nasty look at him. But! In case he proves uncooperative, call me. I'll be more than willing on casting some of my spells on this one..

The elf leaves and goes to Kree. Come friend, let's plan our next steps. By the way, Kree, have you checked whether those filthy slavers bear any guild markings or tattoos?

"Aye, i'm the holy man, a paladin of this bunch. I wouldn't hasitate even for a second, if my life would be required, to save this people here." Maki said to the captured slaver.
"But when it comes to anyone evil...." He takes his morning star and presses the head of the weapon against the man's leg just strong enough, that the spikes pierce the man's legs and he winces in pain. ".. i know no mercy. Now talk. Where were you taking these people, who do you work for. If you talk, i'll make sure no one harms you. If you don't.. I'll have my friends torture the living daylight out of you."

Split the proceeds with us, he means. We need to eat and keep our gear up. Bruga exclaims.

He walks over to the prisoner. Good day, person still alive. A sugestion for you: start telling us things. You tell enough useful stuff with no lies or holding back thins that would surprise us, you get to live...free even sometime after we're away from her. Otherwise...I don't want my companions to do anything they'll regret later, but I wouldn't object to the ex-prisoners having their way with you for...I don't know...how long would you think it'd take them to sever your joints of hands and feet and carve up the rest of you. We'd build a fire to cauterize so you'd get to experience the process more fully.
