Re: The Orc Leaders camp

"Don't do that." Maki says through his teeth to Sila. "This is some very foul spell. I suggest we retreat and keep a safe distance from it."

The holy warrior looks quite uneasy. His shield and sword are raised, as if he's expecting to be attacked any second.

"I was about to volunteer scouting the inside of it.... but i feel it's a big trap, just waiting to snap shut."

In reply to Maki (msg # 30):

All is quiet.

Yenchew looks to be leaning into the darkness also intently listening.

If no further actions toward the darkness will occur then

Please everyone what are your actions - all is quiet (though you guys have made a bit of noise with all this moving about :)

Re: The Orc Leaders camp

Since the general consensus is to wait, Sila decided to make the best use of her time.  She found a spot some distance away, (50 to 75 feet) sat down and started pouring over her book.

Sila will work on recovering more of her lost and spent spells.

Kree   begins to move, slowly and quietly, in a slightly bigger  circle. His  arrow bow is ready, though bit appears not to be, he listens  as he moves. his head turns   often, he is  convinced that the Orcs  left the 'dome' to slow the team down, as they try to escape.

Ok then.

As the group waits, dawn breaks through.

The group notes that the darkness stay's in affect until the Dawns early light strike the darkness.

As it get's brighter the darkness fades out.

Upon investigation, there is a small camp fire burned out, 2 impressions where two humaniods lay and fresh tracks taht lead off away from the group.

Upon furtehr investigation there is a small scroll tub laying on the ground.

Who if anyone picks it up?

Other actions?

Bruga gets up, procures a long stick, and investigates—better a stick than a toe, finger, or nose.

"Well they had us good." Maki comments. "Not only are we not rested, those of us that can cast spell now have fewer available." He said and smiled. "But he who laughs last, laughs the longest."

He sees Bruga attempt to check the scroll tub. "I guess we should check that out, even though my instinct tells me to leave it alone. But someone else could stumble upon it, not knowing it might be dangerous."

Re: The Orc Leaders camp

Senuviel approaches Maki with a curious look: Can't you detect the evil aura of an object? Or only the intentions of creatures?

The elf sighs as he adds: Aye, the holy warrior is right. I have no spells left, but at least I'm still able to draw swords and shoot arrows and thanks to the new spell casting comers in our group I can now focus more on combat, which is my expertise, than some sort of jack of all trades spell caster. The elf looks at Sila and Amarisa as he winks and smiles to both of them. Right, girls?

Obviously, the stern looking facade Senuviel had assumed when he met the other girls is melting down, little by little.

Re: The Orc Leaders camp

"If it has an evil aura, i can detect it. That spell was definately evil in it's nature. But evil is sometimes quite cunning when it wants to conceal itself. It might be already to late, when something is detected. Usualy every scroll is harmless, until it is triggered." Maki said.

In reply to Maki (msg # 45):

Senuviel nods in agreement. Aye! You got a point but I was thinking on the vessel and not on the content. If there is a scroll there, be assured I'm more than capable of dealing with it. What really intrigues me is the case and the place. It just looks too easy. Says the elf with a concerned look.

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg # 46):

OOC Bruga, your invisibility cast on you is still in affect so you are still invisible.

The groups sees a stick hover in the air and Bruga's voice sounds out where the stick is.

OOC Bruga roll em some D100's and a D20 IF you are messing with the scroll tube.

Evil DM chuckle - yup, those two Orcs got one up on you guys - an who said Orcs are dumb.  Slow maybe :)

Re: The Orc Leaders camp

The stick nears the scroll tube, stops, and retreats. A stone goes in the air and is sped toward the tube from, say, twenty-one feet away. The throw is repeated until or if the tube is touched.

Bruga fiddles with the stick to, perhaps, bring the tybe close enough for inspection. That (maybe) done, he says Somebody better than I is free to take a look or pick it up.

Sila returned a smile to Senuviel, "I can offer what spells I have."  she found it curious that Senuviel seemed friendly where Amarisa seemed anything but the sort

She asked of the group, "Does anyone require any further healing?"

"The scroll tube is only there to further delay us. It would make little to no sense, that they would bother to leave us anything of use."  Sila caught a whiff of herself, she needed to find a place to get cleaned up a bit.  Time as a prisoner really hadn't allowed for that.

"I agree, no doubt it's nothing useful. But if it's a trap, we can't just leave it here. Well i'm armored the most. I'll open it up, and the rest of you stay away."

Maki then aproaches the scroll tube with his metal shield in front of him. Carefuly he pops the lid open....
