Sila looked the map over, "I do have a spell that would allow me to make a copy the map. It would take me about an hour to prepare it"

Senuviel glances at Sila as he continues drawing the map. Oh...don't bother, Sila dear. I can manage that with the good and old coal and parchment, eh? Says the elf smiling.

OOC: 14:33, Today: Senuviel Alantir rolled 33 using 1d100.  Copy the map.

A new day begins

In reply to Senuviel Alantir (msg # 7):

Chuckle, a magical map carved into the table, well let;s see, it is rather large, and it would take several sheets of parchment to copy it via magical means/spell, it is 4'x3' in size and yes, it actually has depression in it and it fells like the table rises where hills and such are as Senuviel finds out as he copies it.

Sila, it would take a lot of pages to copy it and Senuviel seems to be doing an OK job getting the basic gist of the map. Of course his copy is also a lot smaller and on one sheet.

Sila smiled, "OK, if you're up to the task"

She spent the rest of her time studying the map on the table trying to commit to memory what she could.

A new day begins

After getting his pack together Sam looks at the map along with the rest of the group, looking for points he might recognize. He mentions to the group,  "Other than Graces, the town I was stuck in, this map does not seem to extend to anyplace that I am familiar with. What direction have you been traveling? Is there someplace you see on the map that you all are heading towards or wanting to now?"

A new day begins

Kree ,  puts the dishtowel over his  shoulder  after  wiping his hands...Well?..we are here...we were coming from there when you met up with us... That's the Family's Mine.

Tapping a finger   where the Mountains, to the west,That is where we are to go... we have been sidetracked a few times.... We still are Hunting and Killing  slavers and BAndits..but we were told,  we are needed   there...

Kree shrugs, it is  clear he is not  entirely pleased...There will always be slavers and Bandits, or rich folks  who use  poor folks , My only goal is to  keep whittling down thier numbers, and make it clear, that  such business leads to a shorter life..and long painful death....

...should  we   find, why our path takes us there? And  we succeed in doing what the powers that be, sent us for.... I will move on to find the slaver that started us on this  Journey...

We  will...indeeed..stop in the town you speak of, if only for the night. Unless it is less-then-welcoming. If that is the Case, we will Move on. Perhaps  a bit out of our  way, to the  Next town.... our   travels, lead to many nights in the wild....

But if we do..that emasn we find slavers, and slave traders..which means we get to whittle numbers down, a bit more. I do not know what the lands are like here... I just know why i came this way...

The elf chuckles  from the kitchen,..That goes back to the...'do not attempt to stop our quest...' thing i said , when the other  fellow left? Sometimes, eggs  must be broken to make the fry?  he shrugs,We are not here to make   those who use the law as a reason  to hide  from slavers.... we are here to save people ...from slavers...

Better to break the eggs before they hatch, rescue those being transported into slavery...or maybe slaves being transported. Each one saved might be a recruit agaisnt slavery with the will to do something about it. But to murder or, as they'd see it, in a town....might be short-sighted.

Kree Nods from the kitchen as he puts plates away and such,..we have seen, just that..people turning against thier  captors...we even sent arms and armor with them and a wagon, that we couple  have sold for profit, if that was our goal...but it is not, and? Not all will see our way, As i do not see theirs.... I am a simple elf,, Those who  harm helpless folks, deserve the worst...it is not a hard thing, to think on!

he comes out from behind the counter with  a couple bottles of wine and Glasses,What changes that , simple thought..is how much money folks  can make on the suffering of others....

He Nods  to the Others  then Looks at Sam and SilaThe Holy warriors who turned on us, though they were serving the  law..they were not.. they were  serving Evil, dressed in the very laws they pretend to guard... I am not sad, one died... i am sad, the other  did not pay a heavy enough price.

In reply to Kree Quickshadow (msg # 17):

Clair just smiles - slavers of al sorts are out there, we intend to stop slavery here first against the one who tried to use us .  If we sop that organization too, a big goal was meet.  I think the mountains hold a key to fight the organization but I think the gods have lad out a pah for us to travel.  Why all the crazy thing that have happened to us happened.  My god guides me and helps others with me on this path and your gods area also here helping gude us.  I am glad to see our gods allowing us to work together.  she pets Snare a moment then sighs, we still have a long way to go to get to the mountain.

Senuviel stops copying the map for a moment. He looks at Sam and then at Sila before speaking. Kree has a point, a harsh one but I understand him and I trust his judgement. Law sometimes can be corrupt as some of us had witnessed a while ago. Kree is right, some people we freed from slavers now fight against them, Snare here is a good example, found inside the wagon we were hired to "protect" by that Astar fellow, if it really is his name. He's going to pay, a high price for his crimes, he is. The elf pauses and sips a bit of wine then goes on...Bruga here got a point as well. Whenever we deal with city dwellers and city representatives or leaders we ought to be careful because wherever there is a lot of money involved or whenever the interest of those in power are greater than the well being of the common folk we will always be confronted by corruption and here is where we should be careful, we saw this happening with the very leaders of our  own hometown, we saw that in the eyes of the holy folks who were supposed to aid us in our quest. Anyway, I digress. What I just want to say is that when in civilized areas, we should keep a low profile. That's all. Now, let me finish this piece of art here. The elf then returns to his map making task.

A new day begins

The paladin was quiet the last few days. He had a lot on his mind as well. He felt like speaking up though.

"Agreed. I find it easy to judge people. Palor tells me who is evil or good. There is only one thing that an evil person deserves, and that is a swift death. Laws are generaly a thing to obey and follow, but like every thing, laws can be bent to one's needs. There are areas, where even slavery is allowed. While it saddens me, we can't do much there until the law is changed.
And some laws can only be changed with money."

OOC: Sorry for being away for so long.....but I'm still around

Kree  smiles   at Maki as he returns to the TAble,..and that?.. My good friend, Maki, wis  where the Sisters  come in... I follow both Tymora  and Beshaba, I ask for Tyomra to aid us, and Beshaba  to give ill luck to our foes...that?  Is balence....Now?..folks who take slaves, where laws are against slaves??. they break the law..and thus  pay..... where  slavery is allowed by law..then we..become the crimminals and upset that law....that is balance....

He takes another deep pull, of a cool glass of wine.and? Just because it is a law, does not make it right... we will butt head  with those  who prize law, over the rights of people, that will be for certain, 9 hells.. we have already. But as long  as we protect and aid those  who suffer, in any way, from darkness?  then we are doing well...in the eyes  of the gods, who are worth following...

reading form the phone i guess i missed the paragraph about where we were going prior to asking haha. we will chalk that up to, i wasnt there paying attention

Sam listening and watching to where Kree is pointing on the map. Looks up at the talk of being hanged thinking it must be an inside joke from past experience. "Agree, one should not use laws or station to justify enslavement, but its not always the powerfull or well of that enslave nor only the lower class that are abused." Pointing over to Graces' Spot, "Not too fond of the place and if I never saw it again I would be just fine. But I understand the need to stop for rest when available. As far as slavers there, I had not seen any nor heard of talk about any in or around the town. It is not permitted there. That said, it dosent mean they are against it, its just not allowed in or around the city.  I have never seen them but I have heard talk about the Orcs around that area, guessing up in the hills, that they actively take people."

Still studying the map, Sila lightly runs her fingers over some of the terrain.  "I personal had the blessing of being rescued by this group.  The politics of leaders can be quite perplexing at times."

With the call to get headed out, Sila made one final check to make sure that she was ready for travel.
