James, the bit about Valentines day was very cute.  I could almost be jealous of Claire.  =)

Still haven't decided the fallout of the Aurors situation, but the DADA, Mind Witch, an student leadership for next years are decided.

Look to the Daily Prophet thread for a couple of things here quick.

Nik/Robert  Arithmancy is an elective course, not one of the core classes.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
She has been an important part of my storytelling so far, as you can see from her various articles. I enjoy writing as her as well from an Literature student point of view. I have introduced many an interesting and important tidbit via her. Amanda usually catches them...

I find I do a lot of my best writing when I think to myself, How can I make this a challenge but not impossible puzzle for Athene, Robert, Claire, and Amanda? I have great players who always challenge my plotting and I hope to have added a few more, too.

EDIt: Also, Kiri and Nik should see post #69 in the Time Changes thread for year two finals.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
Okay, I will give Claire a day or two more to post her In the Mean Time... then move on to Summer Vacations. Most of the information for the Summer is up. Tomorrow, I will post the Time Change for the Summer with some more information to react to for Vacations posts.

Everyone, for Vacations posts the new players are more than allowed to post as well. Many of these events are international or you will be in Britian when they occur. Just do what you think is right for your characters.

We will eventually get ourselves to Diagon Alley!

BY the bye, anyone got a good line on Fourth year books? I am a bit researched out at the moment.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
K, that was a whopper post. IF there are any questions or concerns, please ask me. otherwise, begin the Summer Vacation stuff. New students can start to post as they see fit in Diagon Alley or the Vacations thread. I will give folks a week or two to get accommodated. There might be another Time Change post as I see developments and such going on during the Vacation times.

Beauxbatons student on the line and in process. Hope to have them mingling soon!

Just checking the transportation times

Is it only a few hours to get from Sunny South America to Diagon Alley? i.e. can I post there?

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
That is a good question. I had not considered the complications of internationalness this year... Inwill resolve it in a very obvious fashion shortly...

As for travel, yup it only takes a few hours by Magical Airline, whatever it is named, to arrive in manor international locals like Rio and then normal magical travel speeds from there. So, very quick like.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
I'm planning on doing an 'on the beach' opening post. I was going to put '6pm sometime during the holiday' to make it easy for other people to respond, but then I noticed that you've requested we mark them with a date and time.

So if I'm going to do this, when is a good date to meet up with any one else at Sao Lourenco? (I pretty much have to do it in the evening as my days are very busy)

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
Bao-Yu, if you wanted to specify the place and time of day and a range of dates then you could have anyone drop by while she is there. At the least, I would have an NPC show up to keep you company for a few posts. Remember, summer vacation is not the main show just a place to jump into the game. I do want it to give you new guys time to dry run the characters and get settled in though.

Another avenue would be to write up a post summarizing in broad strokes her summer with specific dates and notes as to when other PCs could encounter her and go from there.

This goes the same for everyone, a broad outline of the summer in the Vacations Thread and then move to IC threads for specific parts of that Vacation.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
Thanks: my range of dates if I get to pick is 'any time after the first week of the summer holiday for most of the summer holiday'. I can then edit it to match the other players. Could you let me know what that would correspond to in sensible units (i.e. Gregorian calendar)?

I like getting my RP voice chatting with other players if that's possible, so if no other player is turning up, I'd probably not worry about posting there.

@Vacations
I mostly covered off the broad outline in the 'in the mean time' thread. Do you want another one focusing in on the vacation itself? If there is going to be (even casual) RPing in the vacation, I'd probably do that after the RP was over, although I can do it now if you want

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
Finals week in 2021 will run from May 31st to June 4 that year. Students will be sent home on the Hogwarts express Saturday the 5th. So Summer vacation will begin on Monday the 7th kinda. Does that work for dates for you?

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
That's the start date: 7th June 2021. When would the end date be: 31st August 2021?

I'll do a post with those, thanks. I can edit it if I get it a bit wrong

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
English schools start the first term halfway through the first week of September usually. (for no logical reason that I have ever been able to see)

Although after checking an actual calendar the 1st is a wednesday so that's probably about right.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
Yes, August 31. Other English schools do not matter, Students arrive at Hogwarts via the Express on the 1st of September (per the books), that is how I have always run things. That is a Wednesday this year and classes begin on Thursday the 2nd of September.

I seem to have missed finals. So I'm starting my 'vacation' a little early. One of the big wins for having to take the year again!

Hmm.. *ponders*

Probably a bikini: it is Brazil after all. Colour: plain maroon. It's not a 'sexy bikini' (i.e. thin strings and small triangles) it's more a 'sports' bikini as I came to swim and/or fight/dance.

And I am so not sulking! Nicole would just call it 'Diva-ing'.

In reply to Liu Bao-Yu (msg # 831):

Phah! String Bikinis are NOT sexy. Not inherently. It's the strut not the butt. Know what I mean?

I'd be sulking if it were me... or spear fishing... or playing them drums. You know how I love music.

Re: Still yet another O.O.C.
Yup.

Mind you that evening I am planning on doing some Samba dancing. There are few better things for practicing your strut! Of course if someone doesn't turn up to take me there, I'll probably just sulk...

The drum is the hardest thing to play there. It drives all the other music. Get the timing wrong and 'whoosh' all the energy goes out of the game.

I understand, Bass Guitar is part of the rhythm section of most bands except maybe punk.

Mmm, Samba! Gonna make me drool thinking about it. If only my oversized feet could hack it, Jade. Sorry. Also, I am in the upper Midwest with *rolls eyes* fa-mi-leee.
